What happened to willard????

It (the earliest signs of quality drop) was pointed out ages ago by the original playerbase. Staff hand waved it. Original playerbase grew discontent and got louder or twisted off cause of how dismissive the staff were. When we compiled a huge list of issues, and the staff just said that none of it mattered cause all the complaints were from people who didnt play anymore (aka THE ORIGINAL PLAYERBASE) thats when I lost most of my own faith in the staff and was just yelling at a wall. The fact that they had the audacity to say that theyd make a forum thread covering the complaints instead of actually talking about it, and then making no thread at all is just a spit on the grave of those who even made Willard possible.

Now Willard is a shell of what it once was. Raped and twisted from its original purpose. Im sure this will ALSO be hand waved as “doom speak” just as literally every worthwhile criticism of Willard is though. At least it saves time rather than the other “We’ll consider it” followed by nothing.

As someone who's new to Willard, could you supply the original complaints levied? You don't have to of course, but I am curious to read and understand them. If such a thing is still available.

it seems that many of these have not been fixed or adressed

None of these have been fixed, its actually crazy that even though I havent seen the document I can agree with most of the problems holy shit its worse than I thought hopefully someone takes note and fixes everything I would rather have all these problems be fixed over my rainbow hair that shows I support the notion of same sex marriage and my love for those who are involved with LGBTQ

Jesus, i never thought i would see so much issues still present in this. Its actually mad bonkers that staff don't do shit about these issues, and i can back up on the shitty staff waiting times. Its usually up to 30 minutes for it to be answered (In my playtime and shittons of tickets i make), and the situation is usually done or given up by the players. It also due to the fact that if you are a citizen, good luck getting roleplay, its bench simulator and if you try to talk to someone, its as if you get alienated by the guy.

TBC is a Major problem, shit I cant express where it was never EVER needed apart from minges. Anyone with playtime on the server sees how shit it is, and its not good for roleplay situations where you shoot some guy in the head, and you gotta go through TBC (unless you roleplay the gunshot lmao), Its also the fact that in TBC itself, 5 shots to the head don't do mad nish, and acts like a body/leg shot. It should be turned off, unless the minges are on

willard ignored its problems, ostracized good roleplayers, and took 197239817 years to fix any one singular problem

now when they realize something was fucked up, they try to go back on the issue (see: political RP) but realize its to late

Its never too late bro all it takes is them to fix this now instead of telling us about the next megaevent that will lose all fun within 3 days. They need to actually fix the main server before making any new mega events as all they do is sap us of enjoyment becasue they usually stop being fun due to staff, players or top dogs. PLEASE fix the main server

Boi I'm fairly sure you haven't played the server once in almost a year.

Tbf to the guy, I could say that of a lot of dedicated players who used to play but now don't specifically because this was the sort of reaction they got at the time.

He might be being dramatic (especially considering he did this himself to me when he was still staff) but he's not entirely wrong.

shut up caleb you're 14

I will add some of my own opinions but i will try not to come across as a whiny bitch!

I'm a little worried that these events which force everybody off the main server for a week or two are contributing to a lack of overall continuity/development on the main server. Where efforts creating a flowing, consequence-based chain of events on the main map would usually be spent is instead being put into short stories which have no bearing on the 'main set' of characters or continuity of City 24. Don't get me wrong though, im excited for these events. They have good premises! It's just that i'm worried that breaching so drastically from the setting for self-contained stories every month might be spreading your creative efforts a little thin. - I'm not sure whether I'm just imagining things or not, but that's the impression I got.

And uhhhhhhhhhh... it'd be quite nice if we adjusted TBC a little bit. I'm not sure how, but id like it if in an alternate universe, more of combat was roleplayed and arbitrated through p2l and rolls rather than switching to CS:GO with janky controls

A lot of the Short Stories staff have openly admitted they barely play the main server at all anymore because SS lets them craft the sort of experience they want to without barriers, limitations or complaints. They have no incentive to apply their creativity to the main server.

I don't entirely blame them, because CityRP is kinda limiting for events and C24 is more limiting than most story wise.

mostly everyone in this thread is going to migrate to synapse (including me)
Atle and his "staff" have literally done nothing, and thats why there is low pop on the main server and during events

Not entirely sure about the 'mirgation' but hey who knows. Not everyone knows how that server is gonna turn out. It may look good (and it does ngl) but how it all plays out is whats most important. But the thread isn't about Synapse so I'll leave it at that.

As for the low pop during main server and events. Yeah, back at c24 it was dead as fuck. Understandably so for many reasons. During this on-going event, not so much. The first day we got to 71 players. The past two days its been around at 45 (maybe more Idk, I haven't check early enough when the server opens, only till later on in the day) players. So yeah, not really all that dead. Pop will probably die back down when we get back to c24 but I expect we'll try something else soon.

As for staff 'literally doing nothing', I disagree (coming from a willard staff, cabal 1984 moment). Some of the admins have been working and trying to help with CT. Especially during this event. I agree not all of them do help in that field and mostly just stick to answering tickets and nothing else too big or just outright don't play for a week or so.

i get the megaevent is meant to essentially stop holding the hands of players and let them do their own thing, which worked out both good and bad for various reasons. day 1 saw a lot of good roleplay and a really good server population that i hadn't seen in a while and the RP was genuinely fun and exciting. but then comes the next few couple of days and you hear stories about the generic S.T.A.L.K.E.R staff-only faction is running around mass-murdering triad gangsters for no apparent reason, an entire gang getting decimated just on the first day of the server, literally all of the other gangs except for marauders being inactive as fuck or just generally not doing anything, etc.

regarding the staff, there's literally not much they can do considering their job is to just take tickets and generally assist people like they've always done. i'd say that this megaevent is the responsibility of the event hosts themselves, the staff team is barely involved in this other than a few people who try to make it as fun as possible.

honestly, the only reason why i play Willard Networks nowadays is for the Short Stories events, even then some of the megaevents lately have been great on the first couple of days and then later on it turns into a shitshow. im sure the SS team are trying hard to make it as fun as possible, but sometimes its just hit or miss and thats how it always is on every other RP server. Willard can make some fire shit and they could turn right around and make some dogshit, it happens.

city-24 is just... dogshit. i dont like the city rp on c-24 and i absolutely hate having to grind in order to get somewhere. interacting with people generally got you nowhere, but in events like city-51 it was much more easier making friends, forming groups and bonds, etc. i feel like in a dystopian setting like city-24, it makes it ten times harder (at least for me) to try and interact with someone without acting like im depressed or hate the combine 24/7 so no wonder why people barely wanna play on the main server outside of events.

Dw I'm making an event without authorization that involves c24 being cucked and we all have to relocate and never return there ever.
