No clue. For the purposes of this appeal I will say the administration in general.

How long is the ban for?:

Permanent.

The reason you were banned?:

Baiting and stirring up drama. Alleged acts of misconduct.

Why do you wish to be unbanned?:

I have demonstrated that I can co-exist peacefully if people allow me to behave normally. When I am not being brigaded or barred from aspects of the community then everything is normal. I believe I have a lot to offer the server and I have created many positive experiences on the server.


Do you have any picture or video evidence to support your reason?:

Literally look how people treat me when they do not know it is me.

Were there any witnesses who can help in this appeal?: (List the steam and/or character names of them or tag them)

I am not going to call anyone out. If people want to come forward to help, then they may.

I have played in the Duchy of Styx primarily with some time invested in Civil Protection. My two main characters that I have played on are Kitty Barnes and Kimiko Adachi (rest in peace).

With Kitty mostly what I have done is RP'd a somewhat dim country girl. She is well received by many players and has garnered a lot of positive attention. Kimiko went to the same faction (was supposed to be a replacement for Kitty until Equinox auth'd a cool alternative to NLR) and was similarly well received.

Kitty RP'd a lot with a character by the name of "Tex" who's steam profile is Male_07 (conveniently one of the people who really does not like me). We were the first two members of the Duchy and I opened up a lot of RP opportunities through making an imperfect character. The idea was he was going to begin to teach her to read. She was "killed" by a zombie but Equinox got on board with the idea that the wrong mangled body was scooped out of the pit and cremated because it looked like Kitty. So, we did this really neat thing where she shows up looking worse for wear, but still alive. I have some backstory idea for exactly where she was in regards to her absence, but that is a bit too off-topic. Anyways, what I have been doing with Kitty right now is having her starting to imply she sees patterns and points out things that do not exist. My idea being that her head injury sustained and other IC things that happened in her absence has begun to induce a mild form of schizophrenia.

Kimiko ended up losing her arm and tongue due to an antlion attack. The biggest thing that happened with her was me RPing her slowly dying of infection from a botched amputation. This brought a lot of RP to the group because they had to care for someone who was gradually becoming more of a burden, but the group was overall good and wanted to help her. It was really grim, dark, and depressing - but I feel people enjoyed the brutally real take on RP. She eventually committed suicide because of her ailing state and everyone in the Duchy proceeding to party while she died of infection (I like making IC actions have severe consequence).

As for Civil Protection, I have had some trouble adjusting to it considering I was RPing a very Terranova-type CP (being able to have lots of IC freedom) which has gotten me in a bit of trouble. But my CP has been a bit too soft on crime which I was adjusting in my recent gameplay. Although, I did have a chat about this with Marlon in VC after he got his new position and he really liked my idea of lowering OOC limitations in favor of more IC restriction.

Anyways, on Jury-3 my idea for her is that she is trying to balance her own morality with her love for her son. She was a former police officer so she has past biases on how police should operate. She does not want to kill people and actively tries to avoid it. This has created a lot of friction between her and other units. She claims to be mentally strong, but she is not. Now, she is starting to come to terms with that and was seeking memory replacement. Her logic being that even if she forgets about her son through the replacement she only cares that he is safe. I like this idea because it is the very essence of being a mother and a sacrifice made for a child. Hero-7 (Wraygun) has been very involved in this RP with me.

I will admit in hindsight much of the RP I do is very much expected of me, but that is the lens I see this setting through. There's not much room for happy endings and I try to treat everything with exaggerated, cinematic, fatalistic consequence. I'm willing to throw my own characters under the bus to generate great RP for people around me. I could have chosen that Kimiko did not sustain a shattered arm that would have to be amputated, but I took the L to create an experience for others. Furthermore, I could have chosen to have my unit operate in a very "gamey" manner and follow the rules to a T - but I felt having internal conflict drives interesting RP (although the faction OOCly might not want this).

I have been very active in the server as you can see and the general "just log on and play" group of players have also had a great time with me along with the core discord crowd.

And you agreed and promised to that... instead, you make the mistake of accidentally revealing yourself to the public on an Alt account into a place you got a negative reputation in... and I don't think it is even possible to unban you now. Unbanning you could cause more shit than its really worth now that people pretty much know who you are and that you are back in the community on an Alt which by the way... is disrespectful to the previous ban and you breaking the agreement to not return.

I really am not sure what to think here...

I want to start by saying that this is not a normal circumstance where someone gets banned for glitching into the nexus and then they get caught alting. This is a ban based upon many peoples hatred for me. We have concluded that what I did do wrong has been righted and I am on friendly terms with the member that I shared those illicit pictures with. When I asked to be banned it was at a moment where I knew staff were already preparing on re-banning me - I'm not stupid.

I was ashamed that I got roped into those arguments with everyone. I was frustrated that I was being subjected to a "public trial" where everything about me gets picked apart. I was angry that people are literally speaking about a version of me that does not exist. Anyone would want to resort to drastic measures here (especially since you already know a ban is on the way).

But here is the truth. Conair was banned for defamation of a staff member. However, I get repeatedly defamed and it is just okay. No, I am not calling for everyone to get the same treatment Conair got. I am calling for understanding why I alted despite having the previous agreement. I just wanted to be a normal part of the community.

I am not trying to throw any staff members under the bus. But this went on because some people allowed it. And guess what? That faith in me was not misplaced. I caused less trouble while other people kicked up a fuss and tried to burn the community down. I recall seeing a certain staff member saying a "KoC alt would be detected because of certain behaviors" but none of these alleged behaviors have been recognized. It's a well known psychological principle that if you treat someone like garbage enough then they will act in such a way. It's hard to play nice when people just see my name and lose it.

Banning me right here validates all peoples vile beliefs about me. Banning me here puts me on the same level as Drpepper10 and will make it to where I am not welcome as a person.

KOC. In the year or so that I have known you across TN and Willard. I have never met someone as manipulative, creepy, and egotistical as you. With one notable exception that being Dr. Pepper. You cause drama. Hell you started it with Jason on TN after you tried to get my unit to call your femcop ‘Mommy’ joke or not as you explained in DM’s. If doesn’t matter as both in OOC and IC context it was as odd as hell choice to make. Your ego is too big for your own good and it seems like you think you can do whatever you want to whoever you want without consequences. In short. Get help man. And maybe once you do. You can appeal again.

• - An appeal is needed regarding/dismissing your reputation being fucked by the past.

• - You have written two pieces of writing in the background in which have been well responded and met with positive outcomes.

Look, I am not going to sit here and call you the worse person I have ever come across; this is incorrect and this isn't a flaming match. I have listed the above two points as I want to approach this in an un-bias manner; but still voice my personal opinion on this ban from a member of the staff team, and someone who wholeheartedly represents this community. While you have been role-playing using an alt account, we cannot lie and say you have caused any trouble, because you haven't, this is the same for your Upside account on the Discord; no trouble has been caused and the interactions I have had with that account have been rather pleasant, along with the rest of the community. But let us get down to the facts, that really isn't why you have had to make this appeal; if you didn't request a permanent ban after being unbanned due to questionable actions anyways; the fact that upon your return you actively tried to bait members with your posts and ignore your advise would've sufficed to a majority vote of removal of the community anyways. If you weren't banned anyways, we wouldn't even be having this conversation; yet we must because of the situation. Your argument is that you have managed to build a better reputation under a new character, in which is partly true; but this is because no one knew that you have KOC reputation behind you, you really think upon returning, people would now respond the same way? Even people who have role-played with you have approached me with concerns, hell, the person who really all started this had role-played with your character and I would assume not had any bad interactions. The point being, is that your reputation is in tarnish here, the name. You can put the blame on other members, but overall; your actions for the previous ban, why you were removed in the first place, is the real reason why your reputation is very-low; with even the confirmed piece of action that was done, and the screenshots of questionable requests floating around; I do not think that you returning on an alt, after unbanning you here would improve your matters, the alt account worked because no one knew that you were KOC; now that is the case, you really think people are going to respond the same way as previous? I did not even know this Tex character was RP'd by that individual until much later. He is twisting it into me pursuing with the intent of revenge. It's odd because he was the one coming after my character with the intent of a relationship.

But I guess that is the truth. Everything I have done up until this point was well received until put through the lens of me being KoC then it gets altered, misshapen, or turned into something it's not.

I have proven without a doubt much of what I do is not intrinsically obscene. No, it's just about KoC did it so whatever it is bad. I want to reform and be part of the community. I thought my presence would be overlooked considering I had the blessing of a certain individual, so I was working on collaborating and getting along. I really wanted to be a better person and I was well... trying... and doing a pretty good job.

But there is no chance for redemption. People will think what they will. It's either I alt until the end of time and take extra precautions so none of you find me, or you see the merit of my actions and my honest attempts at becoming a positive part of this community.

My point being is many of the people that had pleasant exchanges with me eventually turned once they began to hear information from other people regarding bullshit. You are no exception.
