Char Backstory
Background:
Formerly known as Dr. Kwame Kofi Akyapong spent years practicing medicine before the world changed. He was the kind of man who stayed late for his patients, remembered birthdays, and somehow always had a joke ready, even on the worst days. A jolly fellow.
Even after everything fell apart and the 7 hour war happened, he never lost that part of himself. While others became bitter or lost hope, he remained the same cheerful soul. Whether treating a minor wound or big lacerations, he makes sure the patient leaves with a smile... a much needed gesture in these dark and trying times.
(just a short summary, i plan to write a bigger background on the char)
Questions
What is PPT? PPT stands for Priority Patient Treatment Standard, you should follow the order in the guidebook for treatment of patients.
When maintaining professional conduct in character, what should be avoided? Breaking character, arguing OOC in IC situations, metagaming, powergaming, and allowing personal feelings to affect patient care. And using CHAT GPT to do an operation. In general you should always remember, whatever you do can affect the many hours of people that played the char. In some point you have the power to Kill them if you RP wrong and do mistakes. As someone said, Great power comes with great responsibilities.
If uncertain, what should you do? Find a senior and ask for guidance, or even similar ranked individuals that have more experience. Otherwise try to use the handbook. Try to be IC all times, even if you dont have enough knowledge. In need try to PM people, so the RP doesn't lose on the quality.
During an abdominal exam, are you checking for oxygen saturation? Yes, you should do it. Normally its part of the basic vital parameters you take a look at before any examination.
Are Neurological exams used on every patient? No, its mostly used in head traumatas, or similar. In rare cases you can use it for other reasons too.
When assessing for shock in patients, what are you looking for? I list some of the most important
Hypo/Hypertension
Tachy/Bradycardia.
Pale, cool, clammy skin.
Conciousness/Mental Status like time, location, personal information etc.
Increased/Decreased respiratory rate.
Weak peripheral pulses. (In shock, blood goes to important organs cuh, so cold hands etc)
During contamination control procedures, what should you do? Everything starts with self protection, that means Perform hand hygiene and put on some gloves first everytime and even bigger contamination gear if needed.
Then you isolate the contaminated patient if necessary, dispose of contaminated materials properly, follow infection protocols and once you are finished with the treatment you should decontaminate everything that was in contact with the patient. Inform CP or report it in some way.
Action Research is what? Identify problem -> Implement changes -> Evaluate outcome and repeat cylce if it didnt have the results you wanted.
Specific, measurable, achievable, relevance and time bound is a "What" framework? SMART, this you do in your head whenever you plan something.
Name two social sciences: Psychology and Sociology
What does S-O-P Stand for? Standard Operation Procedure
EXTRA: Yo! I work in healthcare(Psychward nurse) for a long time now. And was part of the CMRU prior. My aim is to be a leading figure in the Clinic department and try to make things more realistic. Whenever i was in the clinic, shit gets ChatGPTd or it has low quality RP, back then there were many individuals actually bringing quality to the faction and I want to bring that back. Having oversight of the faction and its quality. Mixing the right amount of realism needed for smooth RP, not writing 8 hour paragraphs but still be accurate in medicinal procedures, thats what im aiming for. Besides that I would like to focus on the medical and social side of the RP then the research side.
EDIT: I have no problems starting low either, ill grind may way up ;3
