Self explanatory. Feel free to elaborate on your ratings. The things people both disliked and liked about District One will be taken into account for future settings.

Voted bad. Unsurprising considering I'm Black Flag. Anything beyond half a week since event launch has been a shitty experience. Before that, I would've voted good.

To get detailed without turning this into an absolute text wall.

As a member of the Salvage Company, I think the event started out a bit rough for me. The primary issues I had with it technically do still persist

1. The Salvage boys did not seem to do anything but salvage. Which means we were irritatingly tied to the crafting system which was a fate worse than PK. This is still the case but the increase in item economy has blunted the effect a bit. (as has simply ignoring the crafting system as much as possible OOC)
2. The fact we basically became the script dumping ground and transfer union attracted some low-quality interactions that were, at best, give me what I want ASAP and shut up, or at worst, people getting pissy in LOOC.
Generally, there was just an endless stream of inane crafting requests and that was the only thing the event was for the first few days, for me.
3. Shops are really rough. Mine is dead and its largely because this was just a really difficult event to actually manage to run a successful shop, given the eco was exclusively a barter economy until recently.
4. There was no real plot movement for a bit there.

The event has improved quite a bit, and I think for most people it probably started off better since two of those above reasons are Salvage exclusive. The events are cool, the setting is unique and I do really enjoy the lack of fear in embracing early occupation elements. The RP is generally good, although the crafting system has inspired a certain baseline of scriptwhoring. The map is also very nice.

I think at this stage the main improvement to be made are making the Combine felt - as they are a little too distant at the moment, given they are all around us in universe.

I'm not entirely sure what's going on with Black Flag, considering the locks on the base and storage containers have been changed so Natalia is currently on hold, however, I started a new journalist character and I've been constantly busy covering it all with the camera given to me by @Nezoose

I like that the Combine are slowly being phased in with them being somewhat distant with United Nations and Sector Administration being the primary focus of 'the people running us' with slow hints of Combine tech being revealed, i.e. fabricator, scanner.

I really like the balance between factions that keeps the Precinct strong, but not invulnerable.
The Pit, the Monster down Under, the Black Flag bar raid, the Precinct raid were all noteworthy places/events that I really enjoyed.

Not entirely sure what's happened to Cadaver Cartel/Black Flag, again, not really sure there was much of a conclusion. I'm worried people stopped logging on.

I actually liked the start and the end of my playtime quite a bit, Good action and RP, got to fight in the Pitt and die how I wanted, Though the vote for Bad mainly comes from the lack of RP and actual playable time in the middle of it all, I felt like from what I saw, and experienced, it felt like obtaining any RP or progression was severely locked behind GMs or selected characters, Yes you can talk to people, but it can only happen for so long, and over the course of I would say 25-35 hours of gameplay, I felt like I was only able to get RP(meaning like a full scenario, not like just casual talking) 10 hours of that time, mainly in the Pitt and S2RP. I get that there isnt many GMs, but when everything is DEPENDENT on them to obtain most of the items or RP, it sucks to sit around waiting for something to happen, and it eventually does or doesnt.

Another thing I saw was the lack of systems not being used, Echo one made a S2RP system thats really interesting and extremely fair, and I saw almost every GM unsure on how to use it at all. I also heard mining wasnt implemented, and most items had to be made via a /me as well as dismantling requiring a /me... which felt... awkward.

I do know this sounds like a script hording kind of take, but at the end of the day, this event, and the HL2RP style of RP is one of survival, You have to scavenge, and manage your resources, and your time, and your men, and when the crafting and scavenging systems are limited (or in general dont work) and dependent on GMs its just not feasible or enjoyable for both GMs and the players. For some like the salvage company, or for those who wanted to make their money by scavenging, it feels like way too much work for something that already has a system attached to it, but the system is unusable, because you cant obtain certain resources at all on the server without a GM spawning it in, Which for WILLARD STANDARDS, isnt normal, Most players can obtain mostly everything on the server without GMs present, Like a rebel going into a store and ordering flour and vinegar for adessive, going to rations, and making it a better meal, Killing a cop for a gun made in a fabricator, The lack of resources obtainable via normal means overall makes it unenjoyable.

TLDR:

Everything shouldnt be fully dependent on GMs to obtain resources or use systems present (Such as crafting or scavenging)

Players should be able to progress and RP with open walls, No restrictions other than those set by other players (such as cops going into their station block to speak about cop stuff, or players scavenging in groups to maximize scavenging, events should be open for all players to participate in)

Add more scavenging nodes and different VAREITY of nodes, such as trash piles for basic trash, and things like food crates, survival crates, military crates, etc. ALSO ADD THE LOOT SCORE! this prevents mass slop looting, while letting others get stuff where possible

Introduce a more streamlined crafting process (Not a revamp, but like removing tools requirements, or adding workbench as a full on crafting tool, Allowing players to actually craft stuff without spending 20 minutes doing /me while a GM watches)

overall beautiful experience so far. i've only played on the precinct side of things, but it has probably been the most enjoyable thing i've involved myself in for a while

I can appreciate this event, and I think its theme and story are good. As far as gameplay is concerned, the average citizen is just scavenging for Salvage-Company or working for one of the many gangs. I loved seeing the natural evolution of the map and the roleplay of District 1, regardless.

But I felt like it would have been cooler that when exploring the more abandoned area's you could find franc
It seems like franc is a bit of a "Whatever" currency. And it got to the point where barter Is almost the superior form of trade.

As GM's let people loot around and break open boarded-up areas. No additional franc was ever *found* as far as I can tell.

Though this has nothing to do on some of the larger aspects of the event. Like the political side of things. That I think was executed masterfully. I liked how it felt much more highly-volaille and quickly evolving than anything I've seen in Willard yet.

Great experience. Cop side has been cinema after cinema. Tastefully developed plots, butterfly effect that amounts from the smallest actions a character takes, the list would be too long to list everything. There is just something about having a lot of people out on the streets, split into different factions that are plotting, plotting and plotting.

Cops are way more human than they've ever felt in V2, and I hope that this will be considered as the base of what's to come for the faction. The roster of the faction with its members is also at an all-time strongest, I have yet to meet a single member of the faction that makes me doubt their ability to roleplay.

be governor
friend is kill
become lone governor
coup in progress
survive coup
counter-coup the coup
get counter-counter-coup'd
counter-counter-counter-coup by refusing the coup

Governor role gets demoted to Head Janitor but Head Janitor is just the governor position
nothing changes

Masterstroke in political manoeuvring while having guns in your face.

I prefer to use the word "Good" instead of "Great". I do love the event, as it shows the misery of the population, who just try to survive in this early occupation - Where everyone is on their own, or forced affiliate themselves with a gang. Although I do sure manage completely alone, as I'm playing Ivar - Who is a respected figure within the community, playing the barkeeper of the "Drunken Dragon". With his charity to anyone and open mindness to help people; I've been able to get around pretty well.

Though, I do see the issues of playing solo - As I am not really affiliated with anyone except for the "Merchant Guild", which compromises of me and another shop owner. I do understand, that the priority of this Event, are the gangs who are the main protagonists of the event - As the setting suggest, that you won't survive as a solo wolf in this world building.

It is still quite hard, to achieve something major without proper connections, wealth or affiliation of a gang in the Event. Of which I personally have only wealth due to fortunate circumstances and the nature of my pub, which serves also as soup kitchen.

Overall, peak event. Just help the citizens in between to feel included in some major changes, because it feels like the Anarchists, Appachi-Zoku and CivPro are the major protagonists in this event. (Though, I do not mind being a supporting character, helping others to feel included)

yeah, when I was solo it was really alienating aswell

Everything major that ever happens is happening at 2 in the morning.

Regardless, fun event. Glad Willard's back.
