Character Name:
Sylvia Lancaster
Preferred Starting Rank: Registered Nurse, willing to quickly work up to Practioner. I'd just like a bit of in-character development to get there and a growth of trust between management.
Char Backstory:
A relatively generic upbringing in Florida. Middle-class upbringing, mother was a nurse and her father was a State Trooper. Ended up working as a waitress in their teenage years, saving for college. They took out a student loan and had a bit of help from their parents to pay for tuition. Completed a two-year nursing program and worked a co-op, working at a hospital while going to school. Finished up her program and started working in a hospital full-time in the Miami. Eventually, going for further education, she wound up working in the ER's surgery room.

Questions

What is PPT? PPT is basically triage, but instead of how injured a patient is, it's a class-based system to further entrench loyalism through benefits and services. Those most loyal to the Union by their occupation or loyalty status having priority treatment within the healthcare system.

The underclass receives the bare minimal treatment, if any while there is expanded services, appointment scheduling and non-standard treatments for higher tier collaborators, civil protection included.

When maintaining professional conduct in character, what should be avoided?

Professional conduct consists of maintaining your composure, despite irritable patients and keep impartial judgement. Unnecessary comments should be kept to oneself in a work environment. Part of this includes following the written procedures on how to conduct the medical profession included in the handbook. Ask when uncertain and always listen to Civil Protection's instructions when asked or ordered.

If uncertain, what should you do?

Seek clarification and do not act without knowing or outside of protocol.

During an abdominal exam, are you checking for oxygen saturation? (Y/N)
No.

Are Neurological exams used on every patient? (Y/N)
No.

When assessing for shock in patients, what are you looking for?
You are looking for confused patients with clammy pale hands, which are symptoms of hypoperfusion and circulatory collapse.

During contamination control procedures, what should you do?
You should quarantine the patient and implement safety measures to ensure it doesn't spread.

Action Research is what?

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what it translates to in-game. I can only assume it's a type of event in which the Civil Medical Union has to actively work on a solution to a medical problem or clear some sort of contamination with a new pesticide for xen plants.

Specific, measurable, achievable, relevance and time bound is a "What" framework?

SMART is basically the 'scientific theory' in terms of having a hypothesis, a plan, the required ingredients and how to replicate it, etc.
From the guide, it says its about being specific, having a tangible defined expected outcome, then a measurable metric to grade the result, A, making sure the project is actually attainable and realistic given the circumstances. R for relevance so that it's actually useful to the interests of Civil Medical Union and the Union at large. Lastly, T for time-bound. A realistic time-frame.

Name two social sciences

Political Science and Psychology.

What does S-O-P Stand for?

Standard Operating Procedures.

I've played union medical nurses and doctors before. Have I given true to life depictions of the medical process? Not necessarily, but the quality of effort is there. Hope you'll have me.
