Char Backstory:
Sullivan Pritchard is a Tennessee-born and raised man, having a fairly average childhood upbringing for the time and location. As a kid he worked on his family cattle farm, learning discipline and work ethic at a young age. His early education was pretty unremarkable, not really knowing what he wanted to do as a teenager while also not really having many resources to go beyond farm-work as he lived in a small town. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the US Military as a reservist, choosing to serve his country amidst the rising US-involved tensions in the Persian Gulf in ~1988. He attended the US Navy basic training, completing it with no issues. Immediately after basic training he was offered the option to complete the Hospital Corpsman Basic Course and learn the essentials of medical training. He did so, earning him the position of US Navy Corpsman. While being able to mostly have time outside of typical reserve duties, Pritchard utilized the G.I bill to obtain an education at the University of Tennessee, majoring in Biochemistry and Minoring in Psychology. During his time in reserve service and mid-college degree, he was deployed with the US Marines in the Persian Gulf at the start of the war in late 1990, seeing plenty of combat and performing lots of emergency medical care for the gentlemen in his unit. After coming back home he finished out his remaining time required for his contract before refusing to re-up. During the following years he learned how to be a civilian again, and while he maintained some of his more rigid and disciplined ways, he was able to function... for the most part. After completing his Bachelors program in Tennessee, he decided to apply for the Yale School of Medicine; A university he'd heard so much about, and what he'd assumed would be his best chance at propelling himself forward in his career. He was accepted, and successfully completed his clinical training, ultimately settling on Emergency Medicine being his major area of medicine, graduating officially in 2003. It's now been a few years since graduation, the entire world has changed into what the Combine wants it to be, and he's making the best of it.

What is PPT?:
PPT is the Priority Patient Table, a hierarchal list pertaining to the importance of patients, with those deemed higher to be treated sooner and with better care than those lower on the list.

When maintaining professional conduct in character, what should be avoided?:
Acting with a professional conduct in character generally includes, but is not limited to: avoiding unnecessary escalation or involvement in non-medical disputes, keeping your composure and neutrality during interactions, and seeking clarification when uncertain about protocols or procedures.

Being professional extends beyond just the textbook answer, though. A lot is expected of the individual as a member of the CMRU. You have to maintain your own mental and physical state while being expected to fix other's. You have to have integrity and an understanding of the predicament your patient is in, being able to effectively treat them while they may be in a manic or hysteric state.

If uncertain, what should you do?
Ask. Asking questions and ensuring you fully understand a procedure, protocol, or situation is always advised when uncertain about anything as it avoids miscommunication. Preferably seek guidance from those that you know have experience with the situation at hand, be they superior in rank or those with more time in service.

During an abdominal exam, are you checking for oxygen saturation?
Yes, generally it's a basic part of vitals and is useful to see if the individual is receiving proper oxygen levels.

Are Neurological exams used on every patient?
No.

When assessing for shock in patients, what are you looking for?
You are primarily looking for signs of hypoperfusion or circulatory collapse. These signs could be pale and clammy(moist or cool) hands or skin, bluish lips or fingernails, a confused expression or attitude, pulse, breathing, and blood pressure. Shock is essentially a condition caused by insufficient blood flow. This oftentimes is accompanied by severe injury or illness, but is not always the case. It is important to note medical shock and psychological shock that can occur after a traumatic or frightening emotional event are different, and have to be treated very differently.

During contamination control procedures, what should you do?
The first steps during contamination control should be to decrease the risk of spread and protect staff so that the threat and those affected by it are able to be treated. Wear your PPE and isolate; this could be the patient itself, the cause of whatever biohazard or exposure, or anything of the sort. After isolation the next steps would be to do what you personally can to assist in the situation. If you have knowledge of biohazards and disease, assist in determining the cause and subsequently the termination of the threat. If you only have knowledge of treating patients, assist in treating any patients affected by the biohazard; so on so forth.

Action Research is what?:
Action Research is focused on solving immediate problems. For example; a problem rises, an action is planned to attempt to fix that problem, the action is taken, and results are observed and reflected upon. This is repeated until the problem is solved.

Specific, measurable, achievable, relevance and time bound is a "What" framework?
"S.M.A.R.T" framework. This framework is used to set goals so that objectives are clear and actionable, thus providing the ability to complete them in a more organized and efficient manner.

I played Klaus Altmann during V2. I was a CWU player and did not get to do much Med RP, however if you've seen me roleplay at all hopefully that would give you an idea of what I'm capable of for the CMRU! This character is still a concept, and I wrote him specifically to be for the medical field. If this application is accepted I will follow up with both a full character biography and likely a collaborator application as well as I'd like this one to be a loyalist.
