I now (obviously) reside in Paris, still trying to pick up the pieces from passions of yesteryears; for as much as I don’t really care for this one-world government, you kind of just got to acknowledge that you’re in Rome, and you gotta do as the Romans do. To that effect I’ve been signing up for scavenging work details: Paris is littered with these old office buildings just collecting dust, and it’s crazy the amount of things (and porn) you’ll find on old hard drives or discarded flash drives tucked to the back of drawers! None of the foreman’s really have any idea what the hell they’re doing, or what the eggheads they’re collecting this shit for the want, so half the time I can just bullshit excuses as to why this super-essential part isn’t required or beyond repair, and then pocket it for myself to tinker with at home. I’ve been growing a collection, and it’s the reason I’m actually talking to you right now! This thing probably can’t run any video game worth a damn, but the media player and Microsoft office suite seem to get by just fine! Been storing most of my stuff on all the flash drives I’ve gathered just cause my HDD is probably from the early 90s, if not earlier; but I got music, movies, old photo albums, other things I probably shouldn’t have (Porn notwithstanding). More than happy to trade any and all things assuming you got something of interest in exchange! Really interested in music: If you got any synth pop, eurodance, electronic dance, house, Italian disco or city pop; HMU!

If I can “pick myself up by the bootstraps”, as my Grandfather used to say (I miss him!), I hope to maybe find myself a proper job working on actual computers, and not just tinkering with stolen parts. The simple fact the old internet infrastructure still exists and is restricted means somebody is still working on all of this stuff. And that means there’s gotta be jobs for the likes of me.

Hoping to meet people of similar inclinations or persuasions! We can trade war stories of whatever dumb bullshit we got up to on the World Wide Web before everything went tits up! Don’t be afraid to message, I don’t bite! Big into everything computer/cyber, music, sci-fi and fantasy both movies/shows and books/comics!

As an aside: It’s really disappointing to see so many low-effort or flagrantly unserious posts. This is some seriously under-the-nose-of-the-state kind of thing, even if not fully concealed, and you use it to splurge a few words before continuing on with your day? How did you even stumble upon this place? The people just using it to post bloodbaths also aren’t much better: You can look out the window to see stuff like that. Shouldn’t this be a place to escape those sorts of things? This is like the coolest thing in the last 3-4 years and it seems like just a passing interest for most that have bothered to interact with it.

Message: Hi! I’m not really interested in doing any in-person trades, be them by drop-off or otherwise. I’d like to reduce the amount of actual real-world overlap with any and all things I do here, as to avoid the obvious consequences of getting a little too comfortable with our virtual medium.

I don’t have any of these things unfortunately. Most of the films and movies I have are in french. Daft Punk, France Gall, Jean-Jacque Goldman and Indochine I have in excess for music. Got some Grateful Dead, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, The Doors, Alice Cooper, The Band for American stuff that’s kind of similar to Jefferson Airplane, but not so much the others - even got some Michael Jackson. I got Death Wise 3 and Samurai Cop for film, but no Heat 1955 - also like a shit ton of french-dubbed anime (they loved this stuff) and french cartoons; smurfs, Asterix et Obelix, adventures of Tintin. If any of this interests you (or anyone else for that matter), I will do TRADE-FOR-TRADE. We both send each other files of interest and enjoy our expanded collections.
