Setting Lore In 2010 the new decade was not met with optimism as the 2008 recession was still felt through-out the United states as debt only became worse and worse piling onto the working class the US kept bailing out the country by printing more and more money causing even more debt which led to a depreciation of the dollar by mid 2009 the United-states was heading towards an economic depression coupled with post 9/11 fears still high, The public's worst fears would be realized in December of 2009 when a bomb containing an unknown airborne viral solution was detonated in times square on new-years spreading across the large groups of hopeful party-goers. As panic spread following the explosion law enforcement scrambled to contain the attackers one of which detonated a suicide vest inside of a nearby crowd killing himself and injuring several others the other was killed in a brief shoot-out with law enforcement, The December 31st Attack was used as propaganda by many American politicians advocating for more military spending and closing the borders, However after two weeks hospitals found themselves overrun in New York and the surrounding cities and states as those who survived yet were exposed became "Carriers" Initially bewildered the first cases of what was dubbed as "Lazarus Virulent" The first re-animations caught the world by surprise as police officers were faced with suspects across the country who appeared "Unstoppable" almost immediately the FBI and DHS got involved in the cases in an effort to silence the media before the event became public, However it's believed that things would take a turn for the worse as carriers had spread across the globe as cases were reported as far as china in the weeks after the attack.

Within months the cities became a nightmare as news finally broke on what was believed to be a localized incident, Suddenly everyone raced for an answer as religions, governments, news and media wannabes all had their own theories on the cause of this phenomenon, By April of the new year the cities had nearly been entirely overrun in the United states with several states requesting the help of the federal government, On April 30th the National guard was federalized in-order to combat the infected, All foreign and domestic flights in and out of the country were ceased and a global quarantine was declared cities were essentially turned into prisons resembling something out of a 1980's sci-fi film. In may of 2010 Riots began around the fortified city of Boston Massachusetts resulting in the infamous "June Crack-downs" following a riot officer being stabbed which led to the deaths of 10 people as the national guard opened fire on them killing them. It's now July 2010 you find yourself a civilian living within one of the few remaining cities though the virus had spread across most of the country some remained relatively un-effected or life had continued albeit in a rocky state though with each passing day the undead creep closer and closer, even the local police and ems workers whisper rumors of the dead creeping closer and closer...as incidents involving the undead creep closer and closer.... Few cities as of July 2010 aren't militarized safe zones or desolate overrun hell-scapes but few pockets remain of freedom.

Firewall Protocols: In the "Lost" Cities the Military have declared what they call the "Firewall Protocol" Initially a military force usually the size of a platoon is sent in in a last ditch effort to rescue any remaining survivors, In the event this fails or the survivors are deemed hostile they're engaged freely and the city is struck within 24 hours by Military jets using napalm in-order to raze the city. Curiously there are rumors of government troops slaughtering civilians whilst FWP's are in effect disregarding rescue orders but these rumor's have never been substantiated with hard evidence.
These orders are issued by USNORTHCOM.

Will this concept affect the mainserver?: Not at all it's completely separate universe.

Time-set: Mid- 2010 In Alcove Colorado following a period of economic collapse and terrorist attacks which result in an undead outbreak.

Factions: EMS (Police-Paramedics-Fire-fighters) Civilian, Bandit, Military, Undead.

What this is and what it might look like in practice?

Essentially what this would be is a city based zombie apocalypse rp set inside a city as it slowly descends into chaos and anarchy, I think given our current structure we could make this work fairly well, CPs would play police officers, OTA / OSF players as Guardsmen, CMU / CWU As first responders like fire-fighters and medics, And civilians would make up shop keepers, street thugs and so on, Initially it would play out as a serious city rp where the background tension slowly approaches each week as things progress, The state of the city could be open to interpretation, Maybe a riot happens and the federal troops and police turn on the civilians and an all out war breaks out between them and local gangs. Or perhaps they band together to fortify the town and turn it into a bastion and try and contact the outside government to find out who is still out there, You could find yourself Working with the mayor and maybe the governor?

Player freedom and a fresh setting.

You could own a shop work in a business maybe a restaurant, You could be a former veteran turned computer or phone repairman, Perhaps you're a paramedic and you work part-time at the local bowling alley or something, Maybe you're a grizzled forty year old detective and you're down at the bar, People are asking you what the hell is going on and deep down you're trying to hide the fact that the force is losing control and you're afraid of the city becoming like new York or Los Angeles. Perhaps you're a struggling criminal trying to mug / steal enough to pay child support this month. Or perhaps the gang life is all you knew and you and the homies are about to knock the biggest rival gang off the streets.

Point is backstory wise and auths wise there's a lot more room for character freedom in this setting then the traditional hl2rp setting and should allow for a fair bit of creativity over standard Willard hl2rp...could be fun whilst we take the break from main Aswell.

(To avoid issues we face on server with for example rebels in hl2rp not doing anything, Staff could set a dead-line where groups would either need to plan a way to work together or else succumb to the hordes as they descend upon the city) I.E - It is 43 Day's until the horde arrives in Alcove city....
