Is the discord a good idea?

One of the reasons I suspect Nebulous lasted so long was that it didn’t have a discord. Discussions tended to be lengthy and more, I guess, meaningful in a way. There was a lot less room for metagame, and a lot of pointless issues were never created. Discussions also didn’t just get lost to the void, as they had their own section in the forums which would be there forever.
I don’t know whether it’d be a good move for willard to remove the discord, but what’s everyone’s opinion on this?
 
you're just mad you failed at counting so you're permanently stuck with the countingfailer role, so now you want the entire discord deleted
 
Shut up. Counting failers (like yourself) deserve to rot in prison. Counting WINNERS like MYSELF deserve heaven. I will call my royal guards to dispatch you immediately.
 
Literally comparing this to nebulous is a curse, here's one thing.

Nebulous is shit, This isn't.

People still metagamed in nebulous with private discord calls, including in WW3RP
 
Discord allows me to rapidly deploy big brain takes in order to strategically tear down smooth brain counter-claims. (I.E all others) If the Discord did not exist, such a process could no longer continue and the server would be a merrier place. I simply cannot have that.

Metagame happens regardless, it just takes place in private Discords.

The problem with WN's Discord is/was the rampant unmoderated racism and other fucked up shit because "MEME CHANNELS" and the fact that Discord as a medium with a whole community in means things are going to blow up and get thrown around basically instantly.

The discord is cancer and its only true purpose is to serve as a faster platform to communicate on and get announcements easier but everything aside from that is utter cancer. Fights break out, people bitch and go on rants, and the only comfort we have is that we can ask questions faster, count numbers, and see updates.

How about we just remove Server Discussion and General Discussion. No discussion. Banned. Quarantined. Isolated.
 
Both forums and discord have their uses. Discussion about important topics and things along those lines can work well on the forums while quick communication and updates can occur on discord. I understand that discord can be toxic / cancerous but at the end of the day, you have the ability to ask admins to check out the scenario, block people and exit the conversation. Fights will be a typical thing that will occur within discord, not just within our community. The staff team does also give out warnings to those who break the Discord ToS and our own Willard discord rules.

Willard won't change its format for using forums over discord or vice versa. Locked.
