Hello friends, I've been around HL2RP since the OpenAura days but never really got into it seriously until CasualBananas where I had an impressive whitelist collection up until that community sadly died out. Then I went to Origins, which also eventually died out. It almost seemed like a curse for anyone running on clockwork.
Even after all of that, my experience is limited to day-to-day city roleplay, but I've always had a passion for hl2rp and I've been wanting to get back into it ( unrelated to alyx since I'm too poor to afford VR for the next ten years probably
).
I'm also a lore purist who loves the half life franchise and I tend to nitpick if anything outright conflicts with all that we know about the universe so far.
I've seen the many flaws the game has, yet I've always wanted to come back to it, just to see if I could somehow unlock the premise's potential for storytelling and unique experiences unlike anything else.
One afternoon I was browsing the steam workshop to look at some of the prettiest City RP maps, and by chance I found reference to this community in the comments of City 24.
Then I looked through the forums and found the devblogs about a new gamemode for HL2RP, and I was impressed. Not only that, but a new map from the creator of City 24, and I saw a familiar face in Mendelevius who I've always enjoyed videos from.
I usually talk more in the discord rather than forums, but at least you guys aren't using teamspeak.
I'm pretty hyped and I've got a lot of great hopes for this community, and I want to be along for the ride!
