The 41st Division
The Forty-first Division is a hastily gathered formation of conscripted men and women; ordinary citizens forced to serve until the unrest across the sector is sufficiently wiped out. Minimal training is a shared characteristic among the rank and file with every conscript given the bare-bones of firearm handling and teamwork. As for the finer details of soldiery, that is left up to the conscripts to figure out. Given the inexperience, likelihood of anti-citizen thought, and overall fragileness, the Forty-first Division is attached to Legion ‘UPSILON’ with their purpose being to support the transhumanist soldiers in their efforts against the Soviet Reclamators and other rebels. Likewise, UPSILON also has the duty of ensuring that the division is kept in check by any means necessary.
It is common to see two to three transhumanist soldiers among a conscript squad. The presence of a biological-altered killing machine is normally enough to keep the conscripts in line and focused on their duties to the Combine. In the rare event of a conscript openly defying orders from their transhumanist superiors without a proper explanation then said transhumanist superiors are able to execute the troublemaker on sight without question. A disciplined conscript is a good conscript and a non-disciplined conscript is a dead conscript.
For those conscripts that have survived through multiple missions and operations, they are all commonly placed with other equally experienced soldiers within a squad. These veteran squads are given better rations and higher token pay for their successful duty to the Combine. A bit more leniency is also afforded to these veterans but overstepping will draw the ire of your transhumanist superior.
Once the crisis is over, the entirety of the Forty-first Division will disband; however, the crisis does not appear to be stopping anytime soon in the near future. Until then, the Forty-first Division will be active and supporting the efforts of the Combine’s war against anti-citizens.
