Black Mesa Research Facility
​

Currently, Black Mesa is the #1 military contractor in the entire world. They were able to top the likes of Aperture Science, of which they dabbled mostly in the realms of what was once considered pure science fiction. Their company was capable of the creation of the Anti-Mass Spectrometer, capable of travel into another dimension entirely. One crystal is able to make pseudo-science into a reality.

It’s been a while since Gordon Freeman was inducted into the ranks of the science team, as Dr. Green once said during an R&D meeting. Gordon is a professional and knew what he was doing during the trainings, so hopefully he’ll do well during the big test coming up tomorrow. We can’t afford to have anymore screwups after what the Administrator said during the meeting, so we’ll give it our all.

If you all haven’t heard by now, the “big test” as mentioned before is the AMS testing of the new big crystal sample. Gordon will be manning the upper AMS while others such as Dr. Dross and Dr. Colette may work in the lower chambers of the AMS. We’ll be cranking up the machine to 105% for this test. A bit of a gamble, but we need the extra resolution. Everyone else in the research team will either be doing their own thing or manning the control room, making sure everything goes smoothly from top to bottom.

Other than that, good luck ladies and gentlemen. Make Dr. Breen proud.

This event will take place in the period of two days. The first day will mostly just be shenanigans occurring in Black Mesa as personnel prepare for the coming big test the next day, allowing everyone to acquaint themselves with each other.

The second day is where the real meat of the event will occur. You know what I mean…

THE SCIENCE TEAM

“I’m with the science team! AAAAUAAUGUGHGH!!!!”

The brightest minds that the world has ever seen, all combined and jumbled into one department in a gigantic research facility. Most of the science team consists of scholars, PhD holders, smart people in a nutshell.

They aren’t particularly smart in the sense of ballistics… unless you’re in the Ballistics Department of R&D. They mostly rely on security to handle most of the combat, though that doesn’t stop you from trying to fight back in the event of a catastrophe…



THE SECURITY TEAM

“Catch me later! I’ll buy you that beer I owe you.”

If you don’t have a PhD or you’re not cut out for hard, back-breaking labor then you’re eligible to become a security guard. You get a hefty amount of access throughout the facility and your main priority is to keep everyone safe. Sounds pretty easy… right?



XENIANS

“Glorp.”

Aliens that managed to escape the Nihilanth, using the Resonance Cascade as an opportunity to take a chance at freedom. Many of the xenians present in the facility simply want to save themselves from slavery, however… people think otherwise.


H.E.C.U

“THROW IT BACK, PRIVATE!!!”

The HECU, also known as the Hazardous Environment Combat Unit, is a special forces unit of the United States Marine Corps located in the desolate, lonely desert of New Mexico and about a helicopter flight away from the research facility. Their main priority is the evacuation of black mesa personnel in the event of a catastrophic event that the research facility itself cannot handle.


FACILITY ADMINISTRATION

It’s not just Wallace Breen that runs the facility. Sector Managers and various other administrative positions are presented to those capable of leading Black Mesa into the future.


MISCELLANEOUS PERSONNEL
“Everything is a copy of a copy of a copy…“


Maintenance personnel, I.T Technicians, and office drones that are littered across the facility. They are over abundant as a majority of those who can’t handle a gun or don’t have a PhD land in this class of the hierarchy. ​

Xenians wont be allowed to be roleplay’d until the day of the cascade, HECU will have a chance to have their own little bootcamp RP from time to time if there’s enough people on

speaking of which, the HECU amount might get changed to a higher amount if a lot of people end up signing for the event. it generally depends

also another thing about xenians is we don’t really need people to play them other than vortigaunts, everything else has its own NPC that can be attacked
