Simple Medicine Guide
How does the WN medical system work?
How does the WN medical system work?
1) Skill level
This displays your current medicine skill level. Once you reach 1000 XP you gain a level. Each level improves your healing abilities (more on that further down).
2) Boosted levels
Determined by the attributes you set from character creation or if you have any active boosts from food or pills, you have free boosted levels.
3) XP bar
You gain XP by healing players and crafting medical items. Once you reach 1000 XP you gain a level. XP is shown on this bar.
4) Boost sources
These bars display what attributes boost the medicine skill. Useful when determing what kind of booster pill you'd like to use for boosted levels.
1) Bandage effect
The bandage effect applies slow healing over a time of 10 minutes. Each medicine level improves the amount the bandage effect provides.
Example of the First Aid Kit and how medicine levels affect the bandage effect:
- Level 0/50 - Heals 35 HP
- Level 25/50 - Heals 52 HP
- Level 50/50 - Heals 70 HP
2) Disinfectant effect
Disinfectant rapidly accelerates the slow healing rate from the bandage effect. Requires the bandage effect to have any effect.
Example of the First Aid Kit and how medicine levels affect disinfectant:
- Level 0/50 - Rapid heals 8 HP
- Level 25/50 - Rapid heals 40 HP
- Level 50/50 - Rapid heals 80 HP
3) Painkiller effect
Painkillers provide a temporary rapid HP boost that dissipates over time. The painkiller effect is not affected by medicine levels. If you have 15 HP and use a First Aid Kit with the 50HP painkiller effect you'll quickly get up to 65 HP but will go back down again to 15 after 10 minutes or so.
Each healing item have their different uses, some only provide the bandage effect while others only provide disinfectant and so on. Be sure to read the item descriptions to see what they provide. Medical items get more and more efficient the higher your medicine skill level is, so be sure to have a good doctor!
