*Backstory:
Carl was always a troubled child, growing up.
He always got into fights at school, disrespected authority, and generally was a delinquent. This was not a good thing for him, especially during the late years of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. He did run amok with the law frequently, but with each subsequent talking-to, or arrest, he got better at avoiding the eyes of the law. Though he grew out of that phase when he got older, even when Ukraine released itself from the Soviet Union in the 90's. But, it gave him experience in brawling, and a street smarts that gave him a bit of an advantage.

When business began to appear around his town, he noticed that his brawn wouldn't cut it working as a grocery store employee; so he entered working as a bouncer for different clubs through the mid-90's. But as he worked, he saw the shiny lights across the ocean, living in America. Thus, he was tricked by the bright lights of the American dream.

Through the immigration process he went, but even through this he planned his way into his next few years. As he got through the immigration process, he saw the fliers and the pamphlets of the biggest research facility in the country; Black Mesa. With his, he saw an opportunity; and moved himself to New Mexico, to start a new career as a security guard in Black Mesa. Though he was only a citizen for a handful of months at this point, Carl was employed thanks to the immigration employment system in Black Mesa, and thus was able to be slotted in as a Security Guard in the mid-90s.

Given his five-year service in Black Mesa, he gained the experience and the respect of his fellow coworkers. With this, he also sought out further training from his higher-ups to ascend into a better leadership position. Thus, as of June 4th, 2001, Carl had been promoted to Sergeant.

Though he is a newly minted Sergeant, Carl does struggle with command; with the stress of it to be exact. The temper that got him into trouble as a kid in Ukraine resurfaces every once in a while in a situation of stress, which could, and has resulted in him making a mistake. With such an issue, Carl has tried to keep himself calm, though if pressures persist, it might not end well.

Though, to the present, Carl Udsmenk has been an obedient, and diligent Sergeant; leading from the front, while looking after his men, and minding his superiors. Though he has his failures and his doubts, he attempts to strive to be a role model, and a motivator for his men.

*Why do you want to play this character?: Well, I haven't participated in a Short Stories event before, I would like to try it once.

*Backstory:
Born in a small town back in Idaho, Kentaro was born to a latino-american mother and an asian-american father. His mother worked as a tele-marketer for a low-grade company that used to sell clunky kitchen-ware, and his father was his town's local ''Good-guy sheriff''. Kentaro grew up in a lovely family situation, a very united one that always got through stuff together. He had the charisma of his mother and the bravery of his father, a combo that always dealt him the best cards in life. He graduated from a low-level college, and went to serve in the army for a little while; Although, it wasn't exactly what he searched for in life.

Once off-deployment, Kentaro went to live with his parents while he tried to figure out what to do with his life... Although, a light appeared when one of his father's ex co-workers offered him a job as a security guard for an high-level facility. The job pay was suspiciously high, but Kentaro definetly wasn't one to say no to a neat pay-check.

So, the boy buckled himself up and did his best, training hard every day in the academy and studying all the subjects at hand. He was the best of his class, arriving in the top five. This man was determined, and nothing was going to stop him. After a paid week-end vacation at a local resort, Kentaro began his life as a Security Guard at the Orion Facility... Who knows what awaits for him, there...

*Why do you want to play this character?:
First thing first, because it's a Cengiz's event, and those are known to be absolutely fire. Second thing, what kind of homie would I be if I didn't play my friend's event? But also because I love Black Mesa events, and I enjoyed Fungle's one quite a lot. I played as a researcher there, and I really enjoyed that side of things, so I'd like to try out the security's POV this time. I'm also in the mood for a nice Short Story, haven't played one in a while now.

Why do you want to play this character?:
Well, I haven't played many of Cengiz's events as of recent, only one or two I think.
So far, it's been great event wise and I would love to play another one of his to see if anything improved or if anything's new.

Though, in many of the events I was much more combat based, so instead of opting for security I want to see how being at the front desk might work.
Would be nice to be an "All around liked" person like someone at the front desk, where well.. Not a lot of people can have an opinion on.

My main goal for the characters is to be a "Goodie-too-shoe" or a librarian personality.
Yes, that includes suckers at the front desk.


Anything extra?:
I'd love to have a small bowl item/container near the reception desk with sweets in it, or some sort of "candy stash" near the desk.

He received multiple awards for his service, and became employed by Orion afterwards. Ashton now resides under a mountain of debt piled on by Orion after 'paying' for the medical bills which the VA would not cover, and is kept under thumb by threat of financial ruin, and worse.

He immediately reported this to the police and there was a state-wide manhunt for the killer, one day, on his way home, he noticed he was being tailed, so he pulled over, to see if the car would drive past, but it pulled up behind him, he saw the driver, it was the same person running from the house, the driver pulled a gun and started firing at him, but Dante got out of there, unscathed, he immediately drove to the police station, where he reported what happened, and was put into a WITSEC program, with his new identity Aarón Quintanilla, a maintenance worker at Orion Mesa.

*Backstory: Randy was born in the bustling city of San Francisco to a dirt poor family. Besides helping to tend to his younger siblings, he had a passion for the world of sales and when he became a teenager he landed some job selling steak knives door-to-door. His employers were outright robbing him of commission, but he loved the job and it helped him build up a larger resume. Randy saved up money over the span of many years, and with what little his encouraging parents were able to spare, he got to go to a local community college in California and graduate with a hard-earned bachelors degree in Business. From there, it was all uphill, with him being able to score a job as marketing specialist for a trucking company.

Hardship fell upon the company not long after due to a workers strike amongst the truckers, and at risk of being laid off, Randolph -- on his own volition -- helped broker a negotiation between the strikers and helped damage control within the company. With decades of experience under his belt and his actions making newspapers, it gained the attention of Orion Mesa; who wanted him on board with a contract that would land him a job in Human Resources. Now at the peak of his mid-life, Randolph plans on retiring early as he settles down in the Orion Mesa company. It's been about a year since he came in to the 'family', and many more to come -- right?

*Backstory:​

Noah Carter was raised in a small quiet town miles from all the big cities where all the kids want to go and make an impression. The peace was stifling for Carter, though. From young, he was looking for something more, something with purpose, something other than the mundane. He enlisted in the military as soon as he was able, and in many ways it worked for him: discipline, camaraderie, and challenge. During his time in the armed forces Carter quickly distinguished himself. The superiors admired his sharp instinct, the ability to remain composed under pressure, and his relentlessness work ethic. From Sergeant he had led more than a few operations, many of them in the most hostile environments imaginable.

Carter spent eight years in the military and decided it was time to move on, but he was not on the hunt for a quiet life. Thanks to his experience, he was a natural fit for a private security company, and before he knew it he was picking up high stakes government projects and corporate jobs. Here he refined his ability to sneak into high risk facilities and strike that delicate balance between safety and discretion. Carter’s reputation for being level headed in the most chaotic situations brought him to their attention when the Orion Mesa Research Facility was created. Someone who could think critically, in a place, where science often pushed the boundaries of the known world, and they needed someone to handle more than just physical security. Entering the security division as a Sergeant, Carter was assigned to oversee the day to day security operations of an incredibly advanced research facility. Carter has developed a reputation as a pragmatic straight shooter, whose trust has been earned by the scientists as he's there to protect not only them, but also his own team.

*Why do you want to play this character?:
I have and always will be a Civil Protection character by heart. That is my main go-to faction and it always will be. With that being said, I would like to step into the boots of a security officer once more. This time around the boots are no longer considered as evil, but considered as a character that will do good. I have had experience with the security division in an old big serious roleplay server, that I unfortunately do not remember the name of. All I know is that I enjoyed to play the character throughly in such a setting as this. I have experience with leading or being in charge of things, so a Sergeant would fit me nicely.

Harold Kenisgton already comes from a family of high achivers. his father a great artist, while his mother an historian, Harold's parents always had high hopes for him so he has spent his life solely developing his career, helping the world with the power of science. He, however, does not want the public fame he just keeps on working, getting his own satisfaction from his work. From the Massachusetts Insitute of Technology, he went straight to work and didn't really have time to make a family of his own.

Throughout his long career, Harold has been known to break some of the rules in the name of science, even though his supervisor's have advised him not to. but Harold has always had it under control, whether through skill or luck, having heard from the new groundbreaking major project, he packed his bags and transferd straight to Orion Mesa, he now impatiently awaits the opening.

Why do you want to play this character?:

Ever since I played the opening chapter in Black Mesa, I've been looking for a serious RP server focused on just doing research. I never found a server like that, and now I can finally have my science RP.

He didn't have much in the way of credentials but he knew his organisation skills and ability to handle numbers off the top of his head would bring dividends down the line if he were to contribute through an office role. It was simply something that came naturally to him. He hoped that working in a big name facility like Orion would look good in his resume: it'd be the most notable thing he'd ever worked on up to this point.
*Why do you want to play this character?: I was tempted to try a Security role for once, but I had the feeling some guard's gonna get killed through some espionage angle, so I opted for something more basic. Besides, workers are underappreciated. I'm also way too used to bullshitting maintenance whenever I do Worker's Union stuff so I'm avoiding that.

*Backstory:
Carl was always a troubled child, growing up.
He always got into fights at school, disrespected authority, and generally was a delinquent. This was not a good thing for him, especially during the late years of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. He did run amok with the law frequently, but with each subsequent talking-to, or arrest, he got better at avoiding the eyes of the law. Though he grew out of that phase when he got older, even when Ukraine released itself from the Soviet Union in the 90's. But, it gave him experience in brawling, and a street smarts that gave him a bit of an advantage.

When business began to appear around his town, he noticed that his brawn wouldn't cut it working as a grocery store employee; so he entered working as a bouncer for different clubs through the mid-90's. But as he worked, he saw the shiny lights across the ocean, living in America. Thus, he was tricked by the bright lights of the American dream.

Through the immigration process he went, but even through this he planned his way into his next few years. As he got through the immigration process, he saw the fliers and the pamphlets of the biggest research facility in the country; Black Mesa. With his, he saw an opportunity; and moved himself to New Mexico, to start a new career as a security guard in Black Mesa. Though he was only a citizen for a handful of months at this point, Carl was employed thanks to the immigration employment system in Black Mesa, and thus was able to be slotted in as a Security Guard in the mid-90s.

Given his five-year service in Black Mesa, he gained the experience and the respect of his fellow coworkers. With this, he also sought out further training from his higher-ups to ascend into a better leadership position. Thus, as of June 4th, 2001, Carl had been promoted to Sergeant.

Though he is a newly minted Sergeant, Carl does struggle with command; with the stress of it to be exact. The temper that got him into trouble as a kid in Ukraine resurfaces every once in a while in a situation of stress, which could, and has resulted in him making a mistake. With such an issue, Carl has tried to keep himself calm, though if pressures persist, it might not end well.

Though, to the present, Carl Udsmenk has been an obedient, and diligent Sergeant; leading from the front, while looking after his men, and minding his superiors. Though he has his failures and his doubts, he attempts to strive to be a role model, and a motivator for his men.

*Why do you want to play this character?: Well, I haven't participated in a Short Stories event before, I would like to try it once.

Born in a small town back in Idaho, Kentaro was born to a latino-american mother and an asian-american father. His mother worked as a tele-marketer for a low-grade company that used to sell clunky kitchen-ware, and his father was his town's local ''Good-guy sheriff''. Kentaro grew up in a lovely family situation, a very united one that always got through stuff together. He had the charisma of his mother and the bravery of his father, a combo that always dealt him the best cards in life. He graduated from a low-level college, and went to serve in the army for a little while; Although, it wasn't exactly what he searched for in life.

Once off-deployment, Kentaro went to live with his parents while he tried to figure out what to do with his life... Although, a light appeared when one of his father's ex co-workers offered him a job as a security guard for an high-level facility. The job pay was suspiciously high, but Kentaro definetly wasn't one to say no to a neat pay-check.

So, the boy buckled himself up and did his best, training hard every day in the academy and studying all the subjects at hand. He was the best of his class, arriving in the top five. This man was determined, and nothing was going to stop him. After a paid week-end vacation at a local resort, Kentaro began his life as a Security Guard at the Orion Facility... Who knows what awaits for him, there...

*Why do you want to play this character?:
First thing first, because it's a Cengiz's event, and those are known to be absolutely fire. Second thing, what kind of homie would I be if I didn't play my friend's event? But also because I love Black Mesa events, and I enjoyed Fungle's one quite a lot. I played as a researcher there, and I really enjoyed that side of things, so I'd like to try out the security's POV this time. I'm also in the mood for a nice Short Story, haven't played one in a while now.

Why do you want to play this character?:
Well, I haven't played many of Cengiz's events as of recent, only one or two I think.
So far, it's been great event wise and I would love to play another one of his to see if anything improved or if anything's new.

Though, in many of the events I was much more combat based, so instead of opting for security I want to see how being at the front desk might work.
Would be nice to be an "All around liked" person like someone at the front desk, where well.. Not a lot of people can have an opinion on.

My main goal for the characters is to be a "Goodie-too-shoe" or a librarian personality.
Yes, that includes suckers at the front desk.

Besides helping to tend to his younger siblings, he had a passion for the world of sales and when he became a teenager he landed some job selling steak knives door-to-door. His employers were outright robbing him of commission, but he loved the job and it helped him build up a larger resume. Randy saved up money over the span of many years, and with what little his encouraging parents were able to spare, he got to go to a local community college in California and graduate with a hard-earned bachelors degree in Business. From there, it was all uphill, with him being able to score a job as marketing specialist for a trucking company.

Hardship fell upon the company not long after due to a workers strike amongst the truckers, and at risk of being laid off, Randolph -- on his own volition -- helped broker a negotiation between the strikers and helped damage control within the company. With decades of experience under his belt and his actions making newspapers, it gained the attention of Orion Mesa; who wanted him on board with a contract that would land him a job in Human Resources. Now at the peak of his mid-life, Randolph plans on retiring early as he settles down in the Orion Mesa company. It's been about a year since he came in to the 'family', and many more to come -- right?

Noah Carter was raised in a small quiet town miles from all the big cities where all the kids want to go and make an impression. The peace was stifling for Carter, though. He enlisted in the military as soon as he was able, and in many ways it worked for him: discipline, camaraderie, and challenge. During his time in the armed forces Carter quickly distinguished himself. The superiors admired his sharp instinct, the ability to remain composed under pressure, and his relentlessness work ethic. From Sergeant he had led more than a few operations, many of them in the most hostile environments imaginable.

Carter spent eight years in the military and decided it was time to move on, but he was not on the hunt for a quiet life. Thanks to his experience, he was a natural fit for a private security company, and before he knew it he was picking up high stakes government projects and corporate jobs. Here he refined his ability to sneak into high risk facilities and strike that delicate balance between safety and discretion. *Why do you want to play this character?:
I have and always will be a Civil Protection character by heart. That is my main go-to faction and it always will be. With that being said, I would like to step into the boots of a security officer once more. This time around the boots are no longer considered as evil, but considered as a character that will do good. I have had experience with the security division in an old big serious roleplay server, that I unfortunately do not remember the name of. All I know is that I enjoyed to play the character throughly in such a setting as this. I have experience with leading or being in charge of things, so a Sergeant would fit me nicely.

Ever since I played the opening chapter in Black Mesa, I've been looking for a serious RP server focused on just doing research. I never found a server like that, and now I can finally have my science RP.

*Why do you want to play this character?: I was tempted to try a Security role for once, but I had the feeling some guard's gonna get killed through some espionage angle, so I opted for something more basic. After signing a few documents along with a lengthy NDA paper, Spencer was on his way to his new workplace. Normal folks would be curious as to what kind of research this facility was conducting, but Spencer was more focused on what kind of work he would have to do once he got there.

*Why do you want to play this character?: I had a funny idea of making an "average Joe" type of character who does maintenance work in a top-secret facility. Also wanted to try something similar to a CWU worker, since it has been a long time since I've played one.

He was hired by a major security provider often contracted by people with deep pockets or even government officials.
After a few years on the job, Evan recived an offer to provide security for this brand new research facility called "Orion Mesa". It wasn't clear what they were researching but they promised a decent paycheck. After a few signatures, Evan was on his way to meet the rest of the security team of this top secret facility. Should be an easy gig...

*Why do you want to play this character?: Playing a CP is pretty mutch my life blood on Willard, ever since my very first character. So playing a "good cop" might be a nice change of pace instead of the usual scary cp routine.
