C24 V3 & Population?

As the title suggests I'm curious what everyone thinks about using a custom C24 map. I'm all for it and of course love the updates that are coming with it. But it does make me wonder if a custom HL2RP map will put new comers off? I know from previous servers I were in the communities opted for the more universally accepted ones so people would download them easier/more and get their population up.

I guess what I'm saying is, Will C24 bring in new players? And does it fit the current population of players?

The map itself may not bring in new players due to the stigma from the last two iterations, although map choice isn't the only factor which attracts players. Things like server quality, RP quality, and player count all contribute to whether players will join or not. While people may not have had the greatest time before the shutdown, changes have been made from community feedback and are continuing to be made, also I'm personally starved for RP and would hazard a guess most other people are too, especially since the playercount of Nebulous and other HL2RP servers are husks and it doesn't seem like anyone waiting for Willard relaunch is getting their HL2RP fix anywhere else. What I'm trying to say is it seems like the relaunch, like the original launch of WN, will be a few days of full pop queues, eventually calming down to a 70-80% pop capacity surrounding peak hours which we can hopefully hold onto while providing a good experience for everyone

I dont personally think we need to attract new players, theres a huge line waiting to get in as is.

I mean when you have that then you know we're doing well, although I noticed a severe drop in players around the time the server shut down. But that isn't meant to say that there won't be a mass of new players

I don't think the map itself will bring more people, rather the "upgrade" of the server

I never knew C24 existed till Willard so i got to experience it blind and i like it. I'm not sure if it will attract new folk but judging the amount of members currently i wouldn't say thats necessary at the moment

True. With the current pop? I feel like it won't matter if we bring in new people or not. The pop alone might entice new folks to join anyways. But it really doesn't matter regardless

150 people left after the disastrous launch last time. You could probably ask them all what the problem was, and they wouldn’t be able to give an answer.
