Double Standards.

I'm making the following complaint thread to expose and speak in regards of something that is becoming ODDLY common. And as the title reads, that is DOUBLE STANDARDS.

Double standards are almost a staple to a specific group of people within the community, a group that, the staff is probably aware of as of currently, at the very least RAD-X is. Not long ago as of writing this @pite was warned by @Kaffee over saying the word "Chink" IC. People can take that badly, of course, it was made with no ill intent either way and that was confirmed as we talked about it in the GM's VC during the expedition, as Kaffee had warned him over it the second it happened.

Rad has removed Pite's warn as of currently but even then, this just shows something oddly interesting. When certain people say something, example. Pite saying "Chink" ICLY. He is warned, they speak behind his back in a private channel within the rebel discord and even ingame logs taken by a staff member are shared out in the same channel.

Logs were censored to avoid further leaking. But you can see they are there.

Yet then you have other instances of things that are- Worse, a lot worse as they are said OOCly. They remain untouched and unspoken about.

For any staff about to say, "This was not spoken about" , it was brought up in my warn appeal that I posted a few weeks ago, these same screenshots I am about to share.

I find it pretty odd that the same people speaking about Pite, are the same ones who have posted things like this in public channels and stay unharmed within the community. I would like for something to be done in this regard, for these people to be corrected or at the very least warned.

These double standards cannot remain if Willard is actually changing and growing. Everyone that is willing to share their thoughts on this, are more than welcome to.

I think this post is stupid, that's all I'll say. Slur usage is bad, especially when used in a derogatory sense to someone. Like Hoki said, there are other ways to be racist ICly. The only reason you're making this post is to try and call out people and get the masses to shit on them, like usual. Whatever though, do your thing. However, it's stupid. It's up to the Admin to warn, and someone in the community reported it, so it is a fair warn.

I am doing this because some people are warned over certain things, like saying slurs, then others do it and they are left alone. There is a clear double standard and if there were other people that said those things, I would've added them even if they were my friends. Surprisingly though... There are none.

Never stated racism isn't/wasn't an issue. Reading comprehension is important. Do I make the rules? No. Do I say racial slurs? No. I just follow the rules that are set in place, and so do others.

It does matter, actually. I'm not Asian inrl, but it was still pretty annoying to be called a slur. If Pite told me he was Asian, I'd be like "Damn, u fine then, sure.". It was used in a derogatory manner and it's a rulebreak, end of.

If anyone has any actionable information going forward you will DM it to me or @BantaMan . Otherwise, this thread will be locked until further notice. It is already spiraling, and I have had it with unnecessary drama in the community.

Going forward, any individuals further posting personal information or messages (including DMs, videos, messages, etc. from outside Willard), unless insanely egregious or meeting an internal staff infraction, will be met with a swift and lengthy ban.

@Muho, your position on the event team still carries weight. You are in absolutely no position to obviously be stirring shit. I do not know if you think you are some sort of activist, but the way you are going about this is not at all what I expect of you.

Drama and cutthroat behavior in this community will stop. If you cannot adhere to this, you will be removed permanently with no possibility of appeal.

I will comment on Hoki's use of the n-word. In Willard of 2022, casual racism like this was commonplace. While this is still inexcusable, I will not harp on Hoki because the incident occurred three years ago in a very different community. Since then, they have never even uttered a single slur since that I am aware of. They will not have action taken against them.

Neonity, with their posts in-context, are satirizing actual racism cases deliberated by staff or racism in-general. They will not have action taken against them.

Kaffee and Eskie will be given verbal warnings. While they both are a part of the communities associated with the slurs they have used, they are not going to be punished by an otherwise vague rule that has visibly been abused until now. However, should they use slurs again starting today, they will be removed and banned.

ItsLiam was not using a slur for any malicious purpose, and in-fact sent it to clarify what his character had been called by two banned players. Action will not be taken against him.

Context matters; people such as Hoki, Neonity, and ItsLiam deserve context before their names and reputations are pulled through the gauntlet.

The crux of this report rested on an ambiguous rule that has been abused and misinterpreted by players. Because of its ambiguity, it has also been interpreted by individual staff members very differently. It is why this report exists. Regardless, the rule has been clarified, and a flat ban has been put on any slur, both homophobic or racial. An automated system is being put in place to fully sanitize the discord and in-game server.

Furthermore, violating the privacy of users by screenshotting messages they have sent in unassociated discord servers are not permitted. Individuals doing so will be banned, unless the content in question is egregious to the point that they do not deserve to be on the server.

We consider Willard Networks to be a multicultural community, and slurs have no place in it.
