@Dark @Keegar123 @registry: brush him
The events of The Long Haul took place 12 years ago, but what was it that lead the Long Haulers to city 24? had they been in city 24 for the whole twelve years or did they end up there by pure luck?

If you want, reply with a summary or story of what happened to your character, or post your characters bio

(I only tagged the people I knew the forum names of, so there will be a bunch of TLHers that didn't get this message, if you see that i didn't tag them, feel free to tag them yourself)

Ilya Zima - Upon the group parting ways at the docks and campfire, Ilya left, deciding to head to his home in Moscow, unknowingly stumbling into the Russian QZ in the process.

Ilya journeyed through the QZ, surviving by the skin of his teeth in every encounter with the local wildlife he had. By the time Ilya had escaped the QZ, all of the equipment, medical supplies, and food he had with him were gone, the guns he had broke, the food and meds ran out, and the only thing he was left with was the clothes on his back and his thoughts. Ilya eventually reached Moscow, soon realizing that he only skimmed the surface of the QZ during his long journey, and the depths of the QZ would be unfathomably hostile and dangerous.

Upon Moscow, he found that the Combine had taken it over, designating it as City 3, and that his old home was nothing but rubble. Ilya eventually integrated into the citizen population, making him feel even more trapped than he was at the KROT facility, worsening his mental state even further. Ilya became incredibly paranoid of everything, choosing to stick to the safest possible decision, even if it meant doing nothing at all, which is what he did for about eleven years.

The Eleven years he spent doing nothing but cowering in his apartment only worsened his mental state, trapping him with his thoughts even more than usual. Ilya felt that the massacre at the KROT facility was his fault and that he was alive only so he could be punished, but because Ilya felt he deserved the punishment he believed it would be unfair to commit suicide, and that the world would kill him once he finished paying for his mistakes.

Over the years Ilya was transferred from Moscow to Japan, Japan to Kiev, and eventually, he ended up in Geneva.

(I will be waiting to coordinate my backstory with Dark and Registry. Edit: If they're the ones I think they are. Jacob and, I... think Wyatt.)

It's heavily implied that that's simply up to our interpretation. It's our choice where our characters went once we survived the Haul.

In jacob's case, he'll be returning to Pure Mountain until roughly a year before the events of City 24.

yeah, I just made this so people could write out some cool stories explaining what exactly happened in the 12 year gap

I did write a particular story about how Jacob gets back to Europe just before City 24. It's called Trail of Malign and it's in Creative Writing if you wanna check it out

Here is a small fragment of the story of what Jack & Alice be doing now. Nowhere near finished but the 12-year gap is up to your creativity to fill out for yourselves.

I hope we get to see them both again
