Brian Postman
"Thank you Marcus, for teaching me to be human."
The best man I know. Genuinely one of the few good people in this City actually trying to get things done. And one who knows what it means to be Loyal. Whether to this Regime we both find ourselves in, or if it's to each other. To think, meeting him back in Twenty Four... 62650. The most analytical man I had ever met, even back then I found it somewhat impressive. If not daunting. But still, we seemed to cut through that pretty quick. I felt bad for a while, because I thought our relationship was fairly one-sided. Me asking everything of you, and all I would give you in return was a person to talk to. But it turns out, you really did just need a person to talk to. Not someone's persona.
Thank you, Brian. You truly are my best friend.
This wasn't the plan, Brian... I thought... I thought you'd be here with me. But with the day that I lost, you were evacuated. I'm gonna try, Brian... I'm gonna get you out of Twenty Four.
I failed you, Brian...

Klaus Altmann
"You love the City and it's people, right?"
Got here on the same train as me, at the same time. Was nice to me then, and is nice to me now. No reason not to see this man as my best friend that's actually present. He and I haven't actually been through that much, all things considered, but we're still close. Even when we got our apartments, we got the same building. Seems almost like fate at this point. Definitely fate, as I keep seeing him on my deployments. Brother is dedicated to getting the CWU job, and I'm rooting for him
He got the job, and more; Klaus has become one of the most respected workers Union fast. He's made short work of the systems at hand... and that alone is impressive enough.

Well... life sure took an interesting turn of events, eh?

Elsa Becker
"So... that's it."
A collaborator and a woman I consider my friend. It's clear she doesn't know what to think of myself just yet- which is fine, I did just show up after all. But, she's grouped with Hardwick and Callaway, being a part of some folks that have given me the opportunities to grow in this City. I think she sees something in me that they also see, since she consistently frequents my bar and stays to chat. I look forward to her showing up and ordering her noodles or soup. We're definitely friends, there's no doubt about it. We always say hey to each other, and we always end up talking for at least half an hour. You and I shared a moment in the Nexus, a conversation I never expected to have with you. I'm not certain if it was because you were scared, or because you trust me, but that conversation meant a lot to me. Still though- I feel as if I left something unsaid, there. Something on the tip of my tongue I can't quite express. Did you feel it, too? Or were you just too worried about the ongoing chaos...? I guess there's nothing left unsaid at this point.
We have a binder to run... like you said. There have been many moments already to confirm how I feel about you, but for some reason the train ride to Industrial 24 all but solidified it. As if they haven't been already set in stone. Guess you could say it's been gilded in gold, rather. Still, the words you speak to me are like the sounds of a cool southern night in the summer. You have truly made City Twenty Four my home, more than any other person I've met. This future that we can build, not just for us, but for our fellow Citizens, shall be a paradise. And together we can reach the peak of our Ascension. That's my perfect future... a future together. Thank you, Elsa. You keep me grounded.
We did it, Elsa... I'm now Consulate General. I couldn't have gotten here without your support, and I'm ever grateful for your companionship, your help... and your love. Even your removal from the Party we got past... because we stuck it through together. Together, we're invincible, Elsa...

I don't regret it. But I wouldn't do it again. This is the best for both of us... we were never that compatible. Seems we still aren't.

Eleanor 'Ellie' Marchand
"I'm not against it..."
Dean of the CMU and overall a really good friend. She confirmed the existence of... him. The "Man in White" as I've deemed him. Apparently, according to her, City Twenty Four is no stranger to the supernatural. Still, it weirds me out. Hopefully one day she and I can get to the bottom of this mystery, but it somehow doesn't seem to bother her. There's something I just have to admire about that... You told me you were going to City One... good luck with that. I was there a few years back, and it was destabilizing then, I can only imagine what it's like now. Still, I... worry for her. A feeling I rarely feel for myself, or others. Glad to see you made it back from City One, and all in one piece, as well. I'm not too sure of what happened over there, but since you came back you seem more... analytical...
Man, they have been treating you like shit lately. I feel like there's more to your story, but I have no reason to distrust you, so... All I can say at this point is I hope you get your armband back.
Seems you don't need your armband back, or really want it. Still though, it seems your treatment in the City has improved since he relocated. Still, I'm happy to see you and Cherry walking the streets, and I'm happy to have a friend like you. You're like the little sister I never had.

Veronica
Veronica... Eleven... what a woman. I met her at the depot, Delta-57. Once again I was deployed, this time with an outlands cop. I knew they did it differently in the outlands, but I never realized just how different it all is. I shared a drink with you and Twenty, saw y'all's faces, and almost died with y'all. Yet, we prevailed. Veronica prevailed, even after being critically wounded. I haven't said anything to her about it, but I was checking on her as she was being worked on. I was... worried for her. More than I've worried about others, or myself. Even after I embarrassed myself the first night we met with my drinking, I couldn't help but worry for her, even when I thought she wouldn't want to speak with me. But then, she did. She saw past the childish games my fellow Conscripts played, and approached me once they were far enough away. I looked into her eyes, being lost in the moment, the world around me disappearing as the sands beneath my feet suddenly felt as if I was walking on air. Her chestnut brown hair contrasting heavily with the bright yellow grounds. In that moment, I truly fell for you... I hope to see you again, soon. I still feel this underlying love for her... but we never made anything official. Just... I don't know. I still care for her, but maybe not as I originally thought...?
Sometimes I think it would've been simpler if you were here...

Tyriel Sutrom

An underclass- a brownband on parole. Yet, she's actively trying to better herself. Moreso than I've seen other people in more fortunate positions than her. Folks he get one mark on their record and decide that it's over, that they have no choice but to result to a life of crime. Tyriel Sutrom, call me naive, but I see a true Loyalist in you, yet. Even if it might have just started out as a way to survive, a way to live, I think you're seeing that really- it's the only way to thrive. Even if all you want to do is help others, may as well thrive in the system presented; show them that brown band doesn't mean you ain't the best Doctor in City Twenty Four. Soon to be a worker for me in the Industrial District. You're a good woman, Tyriel, sorry about the whole Henry thing. Gotta help my friend out, even though I'm almost one hundred percent certain you're... ehem not rooting for his side.
No longer on parole, she's free! Just in time to work at my restaurant, too! This is going to be a wonderful collaboration, and I'm excited to see how you prosper no that you've lost that dreaded brown band.

After I sponsored you, and everything... God damn you. I really tried to reintegrate you... I really did.

Shav, 'Tzu
'

"Greetings, the Marcus."
The only good Vortigaunt. I'm sorry it has to be this way, but it's true. The rest of your kind just... can't be trusted. Last Vortigaunt I trusted enough to be friendly with and even name turned out to be free, and attacked Triumph. Still, you're genuinely the best doctor in the CMU. One of the few I actually trust with my life... you've earned your trust, as my life has been in your hands several times. Several of my scars were stitched close because of you. Thank you, my friend. I am sorry your kind gives you a bad name.
Got you into the Party. That's pretty monumental, buddy. And a surprising amount of people were on board. Already- we reap the benefits of your newly granted freedoms.
We both got the ultimate freedom now, buddy. Though with what we've shared, it seems our ride is far from over- this is still someway the last stretch until we reach the end. We have a long road ahead of us all, Shav... Vortigaunts and Humans alike. Thank you for showing me that... we all have our strengths. Even if the person is from Xen.

Commissioner Blavatsky

"You got to represent us in the face of the public."
The main Commissioner I see when it comes to helping CSF in the City. In fact, I think I've technically deployed with her more than Laibach, as well. Still, that doesn't matter. What matters is the fact that she's a competent leader, and one I am proud to serve under. She's willing to help out with whatever I ask her about- at least if it's within her ability. A charismatic woman, and a Hell of a leader, I look forward to seeing her more often within the City- she's always so much fun to talk with. She also knows how to not make me feel like an asshole when I lean into my public image more and more.

Detective Gimpy

"Foghorn, huh?"
Well well well- from limping around with an AKM for a week now to being a detective. Congratulations, Gimpy, it's awesome to see you at my bar during your... rewarded time. Welcome to the occasional night of Citizen Life.

Jeanne S. Jouhad
"After all of this- we will have us."
1763658724463.png

A friend and a fellow sergeant in the CSF. I met her during that desert depot up in 57... what a meeting ground, huh? Well, the deployment in the City had caused us to grow a bit closer, and... our mutual fondness of Rick made it so we found comfort in each other after his death. Still, I could see she's been feeling a bit off lately. Finally got to talk to her through the relocation process. I think I helped her see clearly on some issues, as Elsa helped me. Still, you've been through a lot, and yet you've made it this far. And from what I can tell, your loyalties lie in the right place. I trust you, and I mean really trust you.
You believed in my rise in politics... called me a "Caesar in the making"- even if joking, I believe there's many a truth said in jest. And that made me work harder for it. Now let's see if I can live up to the expectations... I don't think I can, but with the support of you and the fellow Citizens behind me... anything is possible.
What happened back there? Was something more supposed to? Less? What... was that? You know what? I know what it was... it was nice. Just us there. Please, listen to me... heed my words. I want more of those times.
Jeanne... I thought I've known this feeling before, but this... is something else entirely. I've known of those I cared for, and I thought my care was love. Until I felt your touch on my shoulder... your lips upon mine. You care for me as I care for you... you desire me as I desire you... and that is love. One that I should've seen blooming from our deployment in the City. One I should have acted on, earlier. One I... thought had slipped away. But... out here now, with you... I know we can only win. There will be no loss for us in this war- there will only be victory. We fight not just for humanity, but for each other.

Francis A. Erama

"I have an idea... for a coalition."
My running mate, and now my Vice Consulate-General. The Coalition was a wonderful idea from your part. It exceeded any expectations I had for it. I'm looking forward to what you and I can do together... and hopefully we can get to the bottom of that place. And I don't mean the location itself, but rather the mysteries that come from within.
My enemy, my rival... I should have never trusted you. I should have never promoted you. I should have never entered this 'coalition' you forced with your... fake Binder. You cheat, lie, steal, bribe, all to get your way. To me, you are just a criminal that's allowed free reign.

A'shriari

"You wanted to liberate your world... but liberate for who? And... for what?"
Even before you got to him, Francis was a piece of shit. But now...he's a dangerous piece of shit. By the day, you and him get bolder... which makes me fear for the worst. I won't lie and say I completely understand this whole conflict with you, the GRIX, and whatever the fuck else is out there. But I will say that I will be the one to kill you, A'shriari. Not some other interdimensional being, but me. A human. You scarred me already, in the Bunker... somehow you were nigh-invulnerable in there. Stronger than the other Advisor I encountered... but even at the end there, I saw you. I shot you. You bled. You whined out in pain. You feared that would be your end... I saw you break. Your little message was just more proof to this... your main rival in this all being human reminds me that our future- our Ascension lies within ourselves and ourselves alone. No augmentations needed to force us into the next era. Something you're slowly beginning to realize, yourself. The humans are nothing like the Ashriar you are named from... we are better in every way imaginable.

Regina Kross

"I'm just confused on why you're here..."
A woman who shares my last name (though spelt different), and extremely kind woman who's been around a lot. We talk fairly often, and most of our interactions start with "Hey, Cross" and me saying "Howdy, Kross" in return. Yet, I feel like I don't really know what she does... actually, now that I think about it... what does she do...? Hm. That's... odd now that I really think about it. Plus some stuff I've heard before...
Still- I ought to not think like that... could get in the way of she and Francis, whatever happened there.
I understand you. Out of everyone else... you're the only one I'm okay with...
Guess we're in this together for the long run, huh? The plan is gonna feel like shit, but... we have to do it...

Thomas Vander

"The things I saw Lindner do..."
A new guy in the City... I'm keeping a close eye on this one. He seems to gravitate towards Ascensionism heavily, as well as clearly having an intelligent thought behind those eyes. I see great things in your future, Tom... so much so, I'm tempted to call you my protege... but that sounds so douchey and full of myself... I hate that I wrote that.

Fizz Garcia

"How am I going to calculate ten percent?"
Fizz is a good kid. Though I don't know him all too well, we've still made quick friends, as I hired him at my restaurant. With his talent and his work ethic, it was really a no-brainer. Hopefully if he's around more often I can give him his due rewards. Still though, I'm happy to have him on my team. So of course, I'm obligated to help him with his lady friend.
Sorry, buddy...

Michael Yards
"I want to trust you, Mark... I really do..."

Michael... Mike... the Medic... Shit! "Mike the Medic, Medical Michael", how haven't I thought of these until now!?!? Well, no matter... Mike is a good man. A good doctor. A good (though reluctant) soldier. I've put my neck on the line to defend him. And I would do it again. You're a damn good man, Yards. And I'll try my best so what happened to your arm will never happen again. I'm in a position now where I can do more than try... I can do. And I'll fight for you... and by extension, for Emiyo.

Emiyo Marcum
"Trust me, you wouldn't have won that fight!"
Emiyo Marcum... a woman I like, disliked, hated, and went right back to liking again. I guess I let what other people say about you define my perception of you. Then again, you were an asshole to me both before, during, and after I got deployed within the City. I kinda get it, but also I don't because I was nothing but nice to you! Still, lately I have noticed her genuine effort to be kinder to all of those around her. Even if those efforts grant her a torture session with Soltermann. Or beaten... or wrongfully charged...
Either way, Emiyo... you're good people. I'm just sorry you got caught up in politics before the current landscape. You are an outlier, but not one that's deserved all that's happened against you.
I'm glad Callaway never had me go through with it...
I never would have thought that you were the biggest moralist out here. Emiyo Marcum, you are a good woman- a good person. A better one than myself, I'd say...

Juniper Stenhouse
"The moment I become a burden to the group, I don't expect to be saved."

When I first met you, I didn't know what to think of you. I had heard your name before, and was even surprised to see you still around. Though when I did hear your name, it was never with anything good accompanied by it, something I'm sure you know without me telling you. Still though, you surprised me in more ways than one. And definitely not all in good ways. I still think you're using, as you've had no symptoms of withdrawal. But at the same time, if anyone should be able to ease their pain, it should be someone in your shoes. Still though, there are better ways, Jun. You... are not a good person. Not even deep down do I think you are, but there's something about you that... is good. That wants to be, at least. That... excels others into being good, even if you yourself aren't. If it comes to the point where you're unable to fend for yourself, just know I'll still fight for ya. Cause that's what friends are for.

Louis '024' Carmichael
"Come on Mark, just try a little bit!"

Louis... we've technically known each other for a long time, but we've only recently gotten to actually know one another. Honestly, I don't know which way I prefer it... you're my friend Louis, but you got issues. You're reckless, and when you fuck up you try to sweep it underneath the rug. I want to trust you, as I genuinely believe you want good to be done here, but your past as a Rank Leader still hangs over you for me. Especially because I'm one of the few that can actually hold you to what you did. Sophie Purnell didn't deserve to be rank over by you. I know it was you, and have just let these thoughts fester within. You fight for the right side of history, I know, but I cannot say if your heart is in the right place for it all. And to top it all off, I gotta watch you and Juniper just slowly lose yourselves to drugs. I want to believe you haven't been taking it... but I also know that you never know with addicts until it's too lat.

Duke Barnes
"I've been tricked!"
Duke... ever since I heard of what happened to you, I understand why Biotics are nothing but animals to you. Still, he's been moving against me... moves I let him get away with because I figured it was your way of mourning. That doesn't mean it won't be sorted sooner or later... just that I'm disappointed in him.
Well, he's out the City, now... I got a feeling he's been out for a moment.

Laine Nowak
The man whose life I saved... convinced him to join the CSF because of that. Though I couldn't save his pinky... Still though, as he's around for my rise through the ranks, it seems he's more and more willing to do what I ask. Which is honestly expected from a Soldier.

Svetlana Golubeva
"They are able to form these circles."

Svetlana... I don't know exactly what's happened to you, but it's clear it's shaken you to your core. I'm... sorry I neglected our friendship, our Binder, and our problem-solving. I still think we're in a good spot... but we can make it better. And with you in the Unity Tribunal, I think you're more than ready to take action to make it better yourself.

Marina Grozovskaya
"I think Ascension is more than physical process."

The People's Doctor. Ran by herself and got five percent of the votes. Frankly, it's an impressive feat. Still, it's a shame to see her fall into the same trap as Svetlana... honestly the same trap as me. This is something that... hurts to think about the implications of.

Nataliya 'Fives' Sokolova
"It's because I'm Christian, Marcus. Or I try to be..."
The Rank Leader who's been out of this Dimension with myself and Erama. She's a good Officer, from what I've seen a good leader, and she's willing to make the more unorthodox decisions. I respect the Hell out of that, even if her one promotion she wanted me to handle was a somewhat controversial one... all things considered, though, Tzu has integrated well.

Sophie Beckett

Soph... I'm happy to see you pull through it all. You deserve to be happy with your "friend", and seeing y'all together makes me believe that everything I've fought for has been worth it. That my decisions I've made have helped those around me, and not just myself. When I first met you, I saw the latent potential you had, that you weren't able to use while undeployed. And now, you can and have been using it. I'm proud of ya, Soph.

Asmode Rause
As... you're a good man, but you keep getting lost under the blankets of waves. Or at least, that's my perception of it. You deserve better, and I'm sorry I didn't give you better when I was in the City. I was... wrapped up in the bureaucracy. It was me and Brian navigating the waves of this tumultuous ocean.

Edward Urey
"I don't think it appeals to the Elite enough."
Don't fuck up, this time... I believe you can change for the better.
Dammit, Eddie...

Meredith Jones
A star who never got to shine as bright as she should have. I wish I could have done more for her before she was disappeared. But deep down, I feel you still live. Off some crashed train, as some wild-woman.

Jon Monir
Jon, you and I rarely get to talk... I wish we spoke more, because you seem like such an interesting fellow. Even without that Venom stuff on you. But lately, I fear it's effected your mind. Like, the fact you want to keep a Poison Headcrab around as a "pet". I fear this "Lurker" may be slowly training us not to care about such things so it can slowly but surely overload us with Xenian creatures from within. Maybe it's all connected to you being a force ghost? I have no clue...

Charles Ross
I trusted you. I thought you'd know better. Yet you run off, still. You've earned your place on a particular shit list because of this 'Charlie'. I really thought you wanted to really help. Not just run off and eat burnt headcrab over a barrel fire!
We may be on similar sides now, but I surely don't respect you. Or your little clique.

Commander Jin

Leader of the Shepherds... because of what you've done and the help you provide, on some level I gotta respect you. Afterall, we all need to work together here. However, you promote this almost tribal way of running your group. Focused on profit margins instead of actually helping, focused on consolidating power by monopolizing the fabricators. I want to trust you, Jin, I want to work with you... but so far, I can only see you as a Capitalist wanting to profit off the misfortune of those running away from the Combine.
Seems y'all were rather keen on proving me right...

Benjamin Bermin
Good economist, but... I have no clue what he's doing in this current landscape.

Cristoph Werner
Where are you, Cristoph? You were... such a good worker, then you disappeared... I wonder how you'd fare, now? Honestly, probably well.

Troy Henry Hardwick
One of the first folks I actually met in the City, and somehow it was a High Councilor. Immediately put me to work, too, but that's what I asked. Then of course the next day I got to star in a movie cause of him. The man's given me plenty of opportunities, and for that, I am forever grateful. On top of everything you've done for me, you've approved me for Tier Two, along with Callaway. You two even acknowledged my quick rise, and allowed me to continue my rise. Eternally grateful, once more. I'm going to miss you in i24, but I hope to see you again in the future.
Fuck... the next time I got to see you you... fuck man. That was... brutal. Literally straight out of a horror movie. Still, that... feels fitting. I think you'd be happy with how you went, no matter how odd that sounds to really say. But still... with your death, you've left me and Bernard Mulligan in charge of the Binder. And Mulligan is more of a background actor to it all. I... I just miss you.

Wyatt Callaway
"A good, then you're learning."
A fellow southern man, he and I met and were almost instantly in each other's good graces. Must be that Southern Hospitality I talk about so much. Still, talking about opportunities presented, this guy's given me so much in my first two weeks here. The job I love that keeps me on my feet, the binder that keeps me motivated, and of course, a political goal to work towards. Mister Callaway, you have given me so much. Still, with the meetings with Joe I've had, I am worried that you will end up cutting me loose like you did him. Next time I see ya, I'll get your side of the story, though. I understand why you feel that way about Moter and Ketterson. I understand why I had to stay quiet. I also understand the benefits of playing politics. I know you understand why my feelings are more complex than yours regarding this. Different histories with the same people, it gets confusing.|
I'm... I'm not your first or second pick to receive your mantle. I know you wouldn't be happy with the ideals I espouse... but I still miss you. My Mentor... My Friend. Your guidance, however absolute, was always appreciated. At least to me it was. I'll really miss you...

Rick Ketterson
"I made a deal, Marcus. Just so I can be here, talking to you."
The Old Man... the Blackjack Dealer, and the manner of the Mounted Machine Gun. Good man, enjoy conversing with him. Though, to be honest, I still don't feel like I know him too well. Still, that ain't stopping me from enjoying his company. One of my wingmen, along with Joe. I feel like fate has been unkind to you as it has been to Joey, and I hold out the same hopes for you as I do for him. I yearn for the day where I can see you in the City and get a beer with ya. Until then, however, we stay drinking after battles. I feel like I'm caught in the middle with you, Joey, and Callaway. All men I respect, yet all at each other's throats. I'm sorry I didn't advocate for you... it will all be made clear, soon. I gotta play my cards right.
Fuck... fuck... I... I tried, Rick. I really did. I'm sorry I couldn't help you- but- but I'm relieved neither of us have to go through the stress, anymore. I'm sorry, Old Man.
Old Man... what the fuck has been happening to me? You... tell me about making deals, about how I may be offered one. The fact I don't even think of seeing you as an oddity, anymore. The fact that... you're real is... a lot. But, I've seen crazier things. Still though, whatever it is you are a part of... the Vortigaunts know of it. And they don't like it.

Joe Moter

"Want a drink while you play?"
Joe... Joey, the Casino Man. Callaway's enemy number one... and my friend. The best wingman anyone could've asked for, you spoke to me after I spoke with Eleven... told you how she made me feel. A feeling you actually gave a name to... love. For that alone, for helping me realize my love, I owe you so much. But then, I lose my bet in one of your blackjack games which makes me hate you vividly... even if Rick's the dealer, heh. All joking aside, you are a brother-in-arms for me, a friend, wingman, and storyteller. You've known all the people I've met before they were who they claim to be, and have opened my eyes in more ways than one. One day, I hope to see you back in the City. One day, I hope I can help you come back... One day, still.
I got your note... just give me time, Joe... I just need time.

I... I failed you, Joe... I failed you and Rick. For that, I am sorry.

Vlada 'Vee' Cheremnykh
"Do you have the book?"
One of the first citizen friends I made, I think she showed up a day after I did. Still, she and I have been rather active, both getting our names known in the ISD through an internship, and getting a storefront to work in. She's a nice gal, but there's something about her that feels... off. Not sure if it's just her nerves making her the way she is, or if she doesn't really believe what she's preaching. Either way, despite our friendliness, I feel a need to keep an eye on her. Despite our friendship. Not sure what changed, but I feel like you're in it for the long run, now. Like any other loyalist I meet. Moreso than you were before. I trust that you'll make it to Tier One sooner rather than later. Thanks for the book, my Tier One friend.
Well damn, look at you! Tier Two! A Collaborator! Dammit, you deserve it, too! About damn time is what I say. I'm glad to have to in the party, and I'm glad to call you friend.

Fuck... why did you make that relay? All this over you seeing a Stalker... god dammit... why? You... could've been great. You could've been around, still... you could've been the one to keep me seeking knowledge. To desire more than just greatness for the City, but knowledge.

Sergeant Twenty
It's not like I really know you, but it's not like you really know me, either. Still, that didn't stop you from risking your ass just to save my own. That was some seriously ballsy shit. Heroic shit. Shit I didn't think cops were capable of. Thank you, Twenty. All of that, PLUS a drink we shared? And I saw that face of yours? AND you've seen that I got a ghost haunting me and at least (somewhat) believe it? Whether you like it or not, we're friends now, buddy. Of course, I know to treat ya different in the City, but that ain't stopping this friendship.
Your death wasn't in vain, my friend. It lead to the deployment of CSF into the City, and lead to us actually being recognized as a faction worth a damn. It's always the good men who leave us too soon.

Daan 'Spit-Bucket' Helsinki
Well Spit-Bucket, you're the reason why I don't exactly hate the underclass. You're a good man, a good soldier, and from what I have seen, you want to be better. Still, that doesn't mean I'm not keeping an eye out for you in case a rebel speaks some Finnish and makes a point that you agree with- I'm prepared to do what's necessary. Still, that doesn't mean we can't be friends. If you really are a full-time Conscript now and no longer have that bomb on your neck, that would calm my nerves greatly... we'll see next deployment. Spit-Bucket, you almost died, but I wouldn't let ya go like that. You and me? We're in this together, now. Battle Brothers, until the end. Always in each other's Element. I'm sorry for ever having any amount of distrust. Well I be damned. You actually made it back to the City! Not only that, I saw you around, got to sit in a booth with ya and talk to you like you're any other citizen. You're proof that this program works, and I couldn't be prouder of you.
You- folks like you, the actions y'all take. It's way men like Callaway will never trust people actually trying to make it back into society. I really liked ya, Spit-Bucket... why'd you have to try and defect...?

Alex Smith
A man I didn't know too well... a man I should've known better. A man I convinced to join the Conscripts, and a man whose death I lead to... whether directly or indirectly is up for me to debate with myself for the rest of my waking moments... Sorry I didn't know you, Alex, but at least I get to heavily propagandize your death for the betterment of the Party. From what I hear, it's what you would've wanted.
I don't know what you would've wanted. I barely even know what I wanted. I don't know if what I did is even good. I used your death, and your name, to further my place in politics. I made a martyr out of you, a man who I barely had the privilege of meeting. Your death still haunts me... and the fact that I used your image as if your corpse was a puppet to the regime haunts me, now. I'm sorry, Alex.

Rose Sauveterre
You are the reason I will never trust the French. You switched uniforms to the Republic Guard in the middle of combat, and I've heard you utter that rancid name... Arcenaux. I heard you were killed in action the same day I became Consulate-General... and that has been one of the greatest days of my life. Rot in Hell, with your Corpse-Administrator you chant with glee while you fight next to me. The same chant I have heard from the people trying to kill me. I tolerated you before, but now I celebrate over the corpse you pathetically left.

Hikaru Inoue
A fellow conscript, though this is one I met in the City. Rare, for the Genevan Guard... but usually nice the few times it happens. An absolute giant of a man, this fella was definitely bread from the lineage of some Sumo folk. Need to tell him that, maybe even get him a nickname in the Guard... Sure he'd appreciate it more than a name like "Spit-Bucket". Either way, nickname or not, Hikaru is a good friend. A new friend, but a good one. I look forward to seeing you more in both the Binder and the Battlefield. Us Volunteer Conscripts gotta stick together, y'know? Show the Auxiliaries a proper example of battlefield loyalism. But... there's somethin' about ya. Don't know how else to describe it except it's kinda a... sinister feeling. What did you have to do with Rick's death? Did you weave some narrative as you are known to do? And your shouting in front of the public was a horrible display. What's been happening to you, Hikaru?
It doesn't matter, anymore. You know what you did. You know how you act. You're a coward, Hikaru. One that is threatened by honesty. By someone that knows you're a spouter of shit. I heard you were dead once, and then you were still around... I will know of your fate. And by the grace of god I will guarantee your fate.

If you weren't dead before, you definitely are, now. Go fuck yourself, Hikaru.

Yuri 'The Judge' Orlov
I've never seen a man beg for his life like that... I don't think I ever wanted to, especially while I was trying to make him right with God. Still, the Judge has been sentenced to death by me. And though I didn't pull the trigger, his blood is on my hands. The light fading from his eyes in an instant as Ludwig shot him... the tears stopping with a flash... the fact I didn't even blink. It will all weigh on me, even if I feel and most importantly know this fate was deserved.

Faction Relations
Devotion / Admiration / Favored / Likes / Neutral / Distrusts / Dislikes / Hatred / Fear

Combine Civil Administration
All of you have helped me so much. I owe y'all so much... thank you.
Now I'm technically a part of y'all... this is so surreal. I'm excited about the future, yet confused on how the happened all the same...
Wish that beginner's high was still there, but it ain't. Still, I'm in this for the long run, clearly. This is something I need.

I don't... hate you all like I should. I feel there are still good people there, like Russell, but... y'all let Erama do whatever he wanted. Let the Metadynamists engrain themselves in your governments. Like the fools you always have been.

Overwatch Transhuman Arm
Big augmented guys. Helpful in a fight, especially cause I'm on their side. Anyone who ain't? Suckers.
I... think they're gonna be my guard detail at this point... man, this is crazy.

Y'all fucked it all up.

Civil-Protection
Used to think y'all were just assholes doing your job. I guess on some level you still are... still, that doesn't mean I'm gonna forgot what Twenty did for me. Even if I'm getting the shit beaten out of me. Still never forgetting Twenty, still haven't gotten the shit beaten out of me- however getting this armband has made it so the cops for some reason hate me even more? Even though by all means we're on the same side??? Some of these Officers confuse me, accusing me of crimes that I'm the victim of. It's... strange. Still, lately y'all have seemed to just... be normal around me. I guess I'm one of the few people, huh? I get it. Everyone needs their outlet.
Very interesting folks. Even more interesting now that they kind have to be nice to me... but still- I am under the impression I had gained their respect before I got Consulate-General.
I definitely did.

Barely even a thing, anymore. Now we have the Loyalist Cops and the "Neo-Protectorates". Both are just running on fumes, though... not to last more than a decade.

Conscript Stabilization Force
Brothers in arms, we have a bond that is inseparable. Even if I'm still brand new to this, y'all can see I'm not brand new to holding a gun, and am in fact quite good at it. Y'all see my worth for what I truly am, and this is a brotherhood that cannot be shattered by any simple means. Though I think some of the Penal Conscripts are fucking idiots. I stand corrected. Even the Penal Conscripts are good folk. I have no current comments on the Penal Battalion on nothing more than an individual scale.
We are still brothers in arms, even out here on the opposite side. We are some of the few people that realize loyalty is to the people around you, and not the systems in place.

Civil-Medical Union
They help me when I am sick, and there are some nice folks there. Nothing bad to say about them, really.
Not around, anymore.

Civil-Workers Union
The workers who are sometimes around and sometimes not. Nothing too bad except they're lazy sometimes. Ain't we all, though? Have been on a few deployments where workers were present, made me respect the work they do more. Lotta manual labor, lotta bullshit, but hey, it's the job.
The CWU is no more.

Citizens
Normal folks. The lifeblood of my bar the City. You, my fellow Citizens, are what make the fighting I do all worth it. Thank you, all, for making the cogs of industry churn evermore.
I have always been devoted to you, the people. Even now, I am still devoted to the people. And as the people, we will fight together against these chains that've kept us bound.

Slummers
Worse Citizens, but better Rebels. I guess some of y'all are trying, and I guess technically some of my fellow CSF are slummers... But still, y'all's reputation precedes you. I find the line between Slummer and Rebel blurring every day, once again by y'all's own actions. Auclair won't be forgotten.
Even now, a lot of the refugees I speak to ain't... the brightest. But still they just want a better future for themselves. And I can't blame them for that.

Rebels
Enemy number one. First man I killed was a rebel, and so were all the ones after him. Fucker's never really stood a chance. Plus, if they kill me, I got the full might of the Combine not far behind me, so I know my death with be at least somewhat vindicated with the blood of my enemies. Still, even if they are the end of me, I'd rather die to a human than those fucking frogs.
I'm one of y'all, now. But I don't know if... y'all're on mine. If that makes sense... I don't need followers, I just... need friends, now.

Vortigaunts
Gross. Guess my first kill was technically a Vortigaunt, or some Biotic like them. Either way, it's like if I said my first kill was a deer I hunted when I was seven- it doesn't hold the same weight to it as killing a proper human being.
Found out Whisker was a freed Vortigaunt. Interesting mix of emotions. Guess my original notion is correct: Tzu is the only good Vortigaunt. He does a lot of heavy lifting, though...

Tzu helped y'all... a lot. But so did The Reclaimer. From what I have seen, the Vortigaunts have been some of the only people that're straight forward with me. I... still feel weird about y'all. But... y'all're better than most groups around. And that feels like a lot to say.
