2.0 - Base & Faction Prop Limits
-- Small bases 8 edicts, medium 14, large 20.

I, as a player and rebel leader feel as if these edicts are .. well, underwhelming.
For comparison, shops are granted *much* more props, here's the listing.

- These limits are small stores having 16 edicts, medium having 24 and large has 36 edicts.

That's .. Well, sort of unfair given bases *outside* of the city are restricted to lower prop counts, while shops are given well over double or a fair length to double in the amount of props whitelisted.
This of course, plays into player enjoyment, which I get -- What civilian want's to walk into a shop and it just look like someone threw a couch in there and called it a day? No one does.

This also applies to Rebels.
As a rebel player, I personally feel that *only* getting 20 edicts for a large base is insane -- For comparison, my base has two levels and three separate sections, I cannot *do* with 20 edicts, my base with 20 edicts looks the bare minimum with zero detail.

I feel like having the rule *completely* changed isn't good for the server whatsoever, so let's compromise.
What if people could *apply* for a edict limit set to a higher amount?

Something where the rule Section 7) 2.0), states quote.
2.0 - Base & Faction Prop Limits
-- Small bases 8 edicts, medium 14, large 20. - If needed, you may apply for a higher edict count, given it's reasonable.

Players can move to [FORUM LINK] to apply for said edict count upgrade, explain why they need an increase, what their plans are, how many members are within the base, etc etc.
A possible format below.

Name of current character:
Name of group (if applicable):
Group member count: (if applicable):
Current edicts limit:
Requested edict limit:

Why do you need a higher edict count?:

How beneficial to your own group and the servers is your authorization?:

What are your plans with this higher edict count?:

Please provide a screenshot(s) of your base interior.

Do you understand that if you abuse this higher edict count, you will be set back to the default amount?:

Do you understand that Staff can remove un-needed props if server-edict get's too high?

I am more than willing to hear some feedback regarding this suggestion/complaint, as I understand some staff and players may have some separate opinions regarding this -- Everyone is free to say what they wish to say.

Thanks!

Using client side props for most things is a much preferable approach, because when edicts drop to 700 and below things start fucking black hole'ing, and apparently it was already near that point. Not sure where the budgets going, but unless it’s containers or chairs, best to client side.

all thsi fucking rubble and debris i stg, (and i'm fairly sure containers/workbenches don't apply to this edict count limit)

It’s not as simple as ‘applying’ for more edicts, the server requires them to exist, too little and we experience heavy lag. In past iterations of Willard we didn’t have the client side plugin, meaning every prop you saw was 100% real and able to be interacted with.

Now? We have the luxury of the plug-in, and because of it we can get much more creative with our propping, the downside being that any props that are client sided, lose collision.

We need to save on edicts where we can, and no offence but we don’t really need an extra 50+ props to a base at the corner of the outlands that nobody uses.

counter point, the server is currently at ~7500/800ish edicts -- in perspective, that's SEVENTY FIVE CWU's given the edict limit set for them, I feel me as the player and cell lead with around Eight players now counting should get at least the same equal amount of props as a large shop in-city, which is ~30 props -- that's 3.75 props/person.

if not able to apply to be ABLE to USE more edicts than the normal base, where in the living hell are all of these edicts going to? even then -- the dock alone has maybe ~100, ~150 props, which is or .. was the biggest rebel hub for some time, granted it was huge, it allowed for more propping.

it just seems unfair, bigger bases should mean at least a CHANCE at getting permission to use a higher edict count versus bases that are smaller -- Even shops that are considered large get ~30 props.

Or -- better yet, have it link with the storage limit for groups.
The higher amount of active players in a group get more props to adhere to the higher need.

Besides, scrap city used TONS of edicts and it fine.. edicts will reduce the more it’s cleaned
