alright, the server won’t recover from this. Portal storm on the horizon, CCA fucked over, OSF forces drained. Just start the end of v2.

The server should've taken a long hiatus to prepare for V3 a long time ago. Wrap it up in a nice bow, but V2 is over. Don't drag it out any more.

I agree with this, V2 is old and in pain. Put it out of it's misery, bring some fresh life.

there's no point in ending the current timeline and swapping over to a new one if the fundamental issues of shit like gameplay and s2k based story aren't resolved

Except that solutions have been in preparation for V3 for months to reduce S2K, it's just that the informations aren't public.

that and make the gameplay more complex

i've been hearing this for almost two years now and there's no sign of the emphasis on s2k changing whatsoever

The French peoples of EchoOnia sacrificed themselves to ensure that V2 will end faster, and thus we hope it will be the case

Moved it right back to complaints where it belongs. I will provide my two cents on this later on.

Unless there is a plan to ensure the server doesn't end up right back in the sorry state it is right now, I dont see the purpose in moving to V3 in a technical sense. What use is V3 if it becomes another V2, mere months in.

Theres no denying the V2 storyline isn't even worth following. The lore is burnt to nearly ash. That much is true. But, if we go charging into V3, the exact same thing is going to repeat.

We will have s2K and shotcops dictating every step of the server mere months in.
We will have ghosts and multi-dimensional hyper demons TP'ing people around mere months in.
We will have half-baked systems and clashing ideals that cause miscommunications and strife in staff and players alike.

Yeah, it needs to wrap up. I don't envy the staff that have to try and make Red Letter Day work in a server that has gone this off the rails narratively, but it needs to happen. I just don't know if it should happen before we are ready to capitalize on it.

That's why V3 need to be made carefully, with new rule sets to ensure that we won't go back to a turmoil of constant S2K or CvR interactions every once in a while.

New unshowed features has been made to improve the quality of life of the server for the V3, and more contents are coming to Willardia to ensure an better experience than before, alongside new maps in the horizon to escape the never-ending map pool cycle.

A more clean lore and narration could dictate a more stable roleplay environment, if of course this is carefully being watched over so it doens't spill to another slop infestation arc or surnatural stuffs taht just break immersion right away.

I do truly hope that V3 could bring a breath of fresh air, and I do believe it will be the case as far as I can see.

There’s always people complaining about the server but 60+ of us always are getting on to play it, nobodies forcing us. I’m sure a lot of people enjoy the server and frankly Jusr don’t use the forums.

The reliance on S2K can only change if - imo - TBC returns in V3, but not in the half-baked state it was left in for the majority of the time it was active in V1. A server of 60+ rotating people cannot handle S2RP unless you want staff to do literally nothing else for 6-7 hours a day.

For RebelRP specifically? Weapons and equipment need to be harder to get. It needs to be a commitment to encourage people to explore other avenues of roleplay that themselves need to be allowed to flourish, as happened at the start of V1.

You cannot have the current system of "well, you guys are rebels so you are asking for it" whenever a random raid kills 5-6 rebels and forces them all to appeal. Its not exclusively on the Combine factions in regards to poor attitudes, but the Combine hold all the cards for what does and doesn't end up getting you shot in the face. Go back to the days of more leniency for roleplay.

I mean yeah but I remember the days of 2020 - late 2021 when the majority of Willard's original TerraNova-majority playerabse was still around and the standards of roleplay and general quality felt a lot higher (besides the odd stupid situation). That has gradually changed as Willard chose to relax its standards to attract semi-serious or DarkRP players, for better or worse.

Playercount doesn't neccesarily mean things are good. As bad as V1 got narratively, V2 is a million times worse.

While I appreciate everything the French team is doing to actually get V3 out, if the Rebel faction can't actually impact the server or storyline in any meaningful way then we're just going to get repeats of today.

Set the server post-Episode 2. Please let us just fuck around and find out.
