Notepad Entries:

Guess this is my stop. City-24. In Geneva, It's cold, very cold. Might as well do some work to keep me warm, else I'll freeze to death by the night. Now where a terminal to get me a damn room.
A lot has happened since my last note. I've been called "Workshift Guy" By the officers for the amount of time sitting outside the warehouse waiting for work. I just wanted to get a job. It paid off though, These two woman, Svetlana and Valeriya, they got me into the CRU. I'm dealing with this red fleshy stuff they call Infestations.
Was an interesting last few weeks, I've worked all over the place. Including in the Nexus!. Dealing with "tapping" and this Flesh, They call it the "Rot". Something about cultists. Fun. I met this man, "Baron". He told me these things, things I felt, I feel as if he's speaking exactly what I felt. I want to spread his word. He even got me up to Supporter, allowing me to join the CMU. Where my knowledge would work best.
Finally! We're being relocated somewhere, Hopefully it's a bit warmer than this place. Rather sweat than freeze if you ask me. Was told that there will be some repairs doing to make sure the city will hold it's citizens. It can't be that hard. Right?
It was hard, very hard. There is shit all over the place, Train derailed. Monitor in the plaza on the floor. I'm surprised they would even expect us to be able to fix this hell hole. Not to mention this rot, it's spread all over the place. And it's my job to ensure it's clean and can allow people to safely stay here. What fun.
It's been a month since leaving a note. A lot happened. Stanislav asked me to join the CWU, my "leadership" demeanor during an emergency shift was ideal for what the CWU was looking for. It meant I had to quit the CMU however, I wish I could of worked at both, but apparently not. Maybe I will return one day, be able to supply my knowledge to people and safe lives. For now however, I'm needed here. Working on the city and ensuring our safety.
We did it. The rot is gone. Me, Klaus, Minty, Alena and Greg worked with the SRI, and Delegates. Finally riding the sector of the rot. At least I'd be able to walk safely with my new Collaborator Armband, I think I could settle in here nicely.
Maybe even call it home one day.
Elsa is gone, along Tyriel. I'd assume something was up when those two were very close together, always with each other. I can't blame her though for disappearing. Marcus blew up in her face, Trashing the place. Maybe that's what snapped with her. But I need to know she is safe.
I left the city. It was nice and calm. It allowed me to collect my thoughts, allowed me to reflect. Me and Alena found nobody during our tour. I found someone, Webber. When me and Perley were searching for people again. He said he would get me information on Elsa's location, in exchange for Seven High Quality Filters. I'm willing to do it.
I can't believe I did it. I went against the handbook, against the Combine. I aided the Rebels, I gave Webber his filters. He called over a nice lady called Grace. She said she would help me find her.
I've found her. She walked into the shelter mid conversation with Grace. Alive and well, I was glad to see her, she had the same feelings towards me and Perley. I wish Alena was there, she'd be happy to see her face.
Elsa explained her reasons for leaving. I understand them, having to look over your shoulder often. I don't blame her. But I have nothing else in the city I care for. Maybe it's time I follow suit. Elsa provided me with a Radio Frequency, for if or when I, Perley or Alena wish to leave the city on a permanent basis.
Do I take it? I don't know.
I was pulled aside today, Interrogated on my knowledge of Elsa. I think they know I left the city. I don't want to watch my back all the time.

I'm out. Perley got me out of the city, with his gun. Nobody knows. Not even Alena. We went to the Shelter to speak with Webber, He showed me around. Then I bumped into Jin and Tyriel. I explained my situation, Jin welcomed me with open arms.
Perley is going to warn Alena, she may be next to be questioned. Perley is going to get her and himself out. Definitely some useful friends to have in this new place.

Who knew these people could be so kind.

Richard Johnson
You are a good man Richard, You never gave a shit about your work unless it was serious but you helped me when I was working. It was a shame you were given the worst punishment. Stasis.

Your crime?

Theft.

Which was overturned. I hope you live the remainder of your life in peace outside the city. I hope you are treated as an equal there.
Alena Medvedeva
Gosh, We've been through a lot, Ey? Joining the CRU around the same time, Working with this rot. Then becoming very close together always working to help the city and it's people. We're always there for each other. Even when we go to places we shouldn't.

Maybe when this is all over, me and you can finally go sit down, drink our hearts out whilst we go over our lives. Properly

I'm glad we crossed paths else I think I would of died ages ago.

Thank you.

Your father would be proud of you Alena. Like the rest of us.
Elsa Becker
You are one stone cold woman, huh? In a serious note, you were like that because you cared. Bossing me around to make sure Alena didn't do anything stupid. Then bossing her to make sure she didn't. You are one of the kindest people I've gotten to know over time. you show compassion when I got hurt, Ensuring I was alright whilst the rest kept working. You were there for me. There for a lot of us. And we're here for you.

Anytime.

Good Luck out there. I might just take your offer so I can learn of your stories from before we met.
Klaus Altman
Klaus, you're a good man. Even though you pester me for certifications. Was one who worked to end this rot. So I'm grateful. Maybe if times were different, We'd been good friends drinking at a Bar or Pub.
Svetlana Golubeva
We worked together during your stint at the CRU. Giving me the real scoop on how CRU were the main protectors of the city, whilst the CWU were lazy. You left when Elsa was removed from her position, as a way to show protest to the decision.

They didn't care.
But I did.

You're at the SRI full-time now? Looking to get the important scientific anwers found.

I don't know if I could trust you with the things I know, about Elsa.

But I hope I can.

Someday.
Marcus Cross
Seems fitting I consider you a Distrustful Politician, like all politicians. She trusted you, looked out for you, helping you to win the Election. And how do you repay her? By betraying her trust and giving her up to the Civil Protection.

If you even cared for her, you would of been better off considering her dead and not speaking to her since she left.

Stop searching for her.

She isn't coming back.
Perley Schmachding
We first met when you worked at the Labor's Rest. Still unsure if it's called that. You were a quiet lad, keeping to yourself. But things changed when we went to the Industrial Sector. You changed. I wasn't aware at the time, but I knew you were not right, I found you had lost a lot of those near and dear to you. Presumed that Richard was Dead, Vlada having actually passed.

You felt empty.
Alone.
Blaming yourself for their loss.

It wasn't your fault.

I was here for you if you wanted to talk, You've been here for me as a guide to the Outlands. A lot has changed over these last few days. For the better I hope.

Maybe we take Elsa's gift. Maybe we leave this shithole once and for all. Live our lives with the freedom of choice and will.

I hope we can treasure our friendship.

As I know I will.
Greg Mechmad
We didn't interact much until you took over as CRU Team Lead during our ventures in Industiral Twenty-Four. We worked together to get rid of the rot. But you pestered me. A lot.

Not to mention the lack of activity you led within the CRU. I hoped you would of been able to stand to Elsa's position, being able to guide the CRU, ensuring that something is happening.

I feel you didn't achieve that.
'Three'
You are an interesting person. Found me on my second day in the city. Waiting outside the warehouse in City-24.

Gave me the name "Workshift Guy", Could never tell if it was a tease or genuine. But I understood it was easier to refer to me as such. Maybe if things were different. Where the world wasn't shitty we could of had a laugh about it.

But then again. You chose yourself, over humanity.
'Tzu'
Ah, Tzu. If that even is your real name. You're an outstanding Vortigaunt, trapped on our world, yet still going out of his way to ensure the health of humanity. One of the lucky few to be allowed to connect to the vortessence, legally.

I wish I could free your kind especially with you at mind. But it's hard, maybe I will make it a job to work to free your kind.

But it will be hard.

Very.

Blood-Soaked Letter

As you moved the lifeless body of Charles Ross, a letter would fall out of his armored suit. It's paper moist from the blood of the man. You take a look at it, the front simply read "This is it."You Open it
If you're reading this, then I've unfortunately been one of the casualties, or you're being nosy. In which case.

Go away!
The date is currently, the 25th of January 2022. I'm here in this place they call Cruseilles. It's cold and damp. But it's home for now. I heard that we'll be attack the city at some point. And we all are expecting to face casualties. So I wanted to write something, in case, I become one of those casualties. I'm not sure what to write, but I suppose just some notes on what I've seen and some parting words.

Firstly, some of you know me as Charles Ross or Tarik, In actuality I was Karlo Rosić. I just wanted to have a normal sounding name when in the city. I don't know of locations of my family. But I know of their names, so if you hear of them, please inform them of my unfortunate death. Their names are Amira and Luka Rosić. So please find them and present them this letter, If this is not possible. Please have Pathfinder pass this message through the network towards The Shepard, my other family.

To The Rebellion,
I'm sure it's obvious, but I wished to say I'm proud of you all we've achieved so much. It doesn't matter if all you did was stand there, You've shown that we can take back our freedom, and I hope you can push to take back the region and make good use of it.

To Richard,
I'm sorry I couldn't help you. I wish I could, you will always be in my mind as a man who was a victim to all the bad luck he had received. I picture you enjoying yourself at that cottage you wished to be at. Goodnight, my old friend.

To The Shepards,
I'm sorry that I can't return, I know you wanted to ensure that I would return, but it's not all it's meant to be. I wish you all a safe and importantly, free life to do as you wish. I know you'll do great things in due time.

To Amira and Luka,
I hope you receive this letter, Please look after each other, go and live your lives, I know we haven't been able to talk, in years. But know that I looked after everyone I could, I always aimed to helped where I can, and I hope that is enough for you to say you were proud of me, because I know some people would see that as the same.

To My Father, Marko,
Hi Pops, I hope you are looking down on me as a man of great achievement, I've done so much with my life, Helped those where I can, gotten a reputation for who I was, found a group of people I could call a second family, I hope that I don't see you soon, but if I do. I hope that we are together enjoying a lovely whiskey back home in Sarajevo. I miss you pops. I really do.

To Everyone Else,

I wish you all luck,

Jon, You're a good man. I wished we spent more time together, having laughs, talking about our previous years. I still hope we can do it.

Marcus, I hope you are the right pick for these people, as I know you are--
The words abruptly stop being readable, the blood makes it severely difficult to continue reading. whatever Ross was trying to say can't be read past this point.
