'Throughout human history, we have always been infatuated with the past. However, there are some things that we found that even modern day technology can't explain. We call those things out-of-place artifacts (OOPArts). These are ancient objects found in unusual context that seems to suggest connections incompatible with their era. Some famous examples are: the Antikythera Mechanism, the Maine Penny and the Baghdad Battery.'
Humans are flawed and exploitable The Hedonic Treadmill: as we achieve goals, acquire possessions, we humans create expectations for ourselves. We create a cycle of excitement where new pleasures keep us at a high. This way, we are in a constant pursuit of happiness. Perhaps there is a reason for it all, some divine intervention that brings us all the answers to these questions that humans have. Perhaps one day we will find something that will encapsulate humanities greatest questions. I like to think there isn't much of that. What we do on this earth, in our current moment, that is what is important. Age old questions, out-of-place artifacts, those things are not important to me. All I want, is one thing. It's a simple task, for someone like me, or, it should be an easy task. It's been about a year now, if not more. A year where I have been stuck in time. Perhaps I will never get what I truly long for, and it's all a childish dream. However, I trust in myself, and those around me to strengthen the foundation, and to make it happen. Even the darkest nights will end, and the light will shine once more. |  |

I know everything about myself, like any human would. My physical geometry and I know my place in this world. There's just this one thing I don't know, something that I seem to have forgotten. When I look into the mirror, I can just barely see a small scar on the side of my head. However, I can't remember how it got there. |
