I don’t normally write this stuff since somebody says everything before me but whatever I¨ll keep it simple.

The first three days of this event has been the most fun I have had with Willard ever and it's a shame that on the third day it all had to go downhill.

I'm concerned now not just with the event but V3 in general becoming just like V2 and the narrative being controlled by a minority of people who hate each other unironically out of character. (Armenian, Grain, Nanci). Their characters and their backstories exist only as their In character mandate to justify messing up the game for whoever they do not like OOC. The effort they put into their roleplay is not for the joy of it but only to declare themselves as better roleplayers and thus used as an argument for putting themselves above others and getting the outcome they want out of a situation.

To lay out the timeline from the beginning. Even before the event began I specifically laid out and communicated to the GM’s that the Black Flag has no intention of getting into fights with the other gangs both for Ic reasons that being that there is no point in making ourselves more exhausted on infighting when we will be fighting the Combine as well as for OOC reasons since I know that there hasn’t been a PVP fight on Willard that hasn’t resulted in endless discord drama.

Day 1 and 2 were fine. We were just setting up our faction and establishing relations with the other gangs. Our only interaction with the Cadaver at this time was them calling us a bunch of posers since we did not want to buy their drugs. Sure it wasn’t a positive interaction but nothing to go to war over.

Anyways on the third day based on this singular interaction the Cadavar has decided that the only proportional response to this is that the Black Flag MUST die. They then bribe a dozen random citizens and tell them they were going to be killing bandits. I did not have any issues with how the fight itself was handled and in universe it is plausible that a Drug Dealer would exist who is such a bastard he would decide to go murder 5 people based on the fact that they handed out food and water cheaper than him and did not purchase his products, thus harming his business. OOC the only issue with this would be that it was happening on the third day of the event before anything really happened to warrant pking 5 characters.

The odds were against us, blocked by a big crowd that was throwing firebombs and gas canisters into our bar. We were fully expecting to be permanently killed here since that is the Pk policy that has been advertised to us. When the pistol was introduced in S2RP there was nothing stopping the Cadevars from aborting their attack since they could have realised that the battle was not in their favour. But it could also make sense that as a feared criminal gang you have an image to uphold to the citizens. Against all odds we break the siege with a countercharge and the use of our singular pistol and though we lose one of our members. We still come from the battle battered but victorious, the Cadevars leader was dead and the Black Flag could use this breathing room to rebuild and continue passively building up. The battle was still a tragedy as we would later learn that all the enlisted muscle was told they will be killing bandits, thus making us come to the realization that we just killed several of the very citizens who were fighting for and who had some merit to believe that their effort was just.

The real issue began with everything about how this was handled afterwards out of character and the In character consequences that only the Black Flag must seriously face.

Despite the Pk Policy being advertised as very hardcore the staff immediately backpaddle and decide this fight will be NLR for all involved. Due to issues with a GM communicating the beginning of S2K in LOOC rather than event Chat causing some of the Cadavars to not see it and I have to ask here? What would the plan be if the Cadavers got to win this fight? Would we all be Pked in the name of the server narrative to show how dark and gritty this world is and how super scary the Cadavers are? Anyways as it has been NLR for all involved effectively nothing happened to the Cadaver beyond the loss of some funds.

On the other hand although the Black Flag got its one pked member back it has now had all their plans of a quiet build up derailed as now they are in the spotlight of District Satellite our singular firearm was confiscated by them and efforts have been made to limit our power so we do not become too strong. I'm not blaming the cops on this as their response to this event is reasonable but it just shows that only the Black Flag got damaged over this attack. On the other hand I do not think they had any issues with the Cadavar even though they should be equally furious over the fact that their attack on the Black Flag got a lot of their district's citizens killed that they will soon need to put to work in getting the resource tithes. But from what I heard the Cadaver and Satellite are still best friends.

Now my main issue with this is that as a result of a fight that nobody in the Black Flag wanted, that was forced upon us and if things went out of hand then it SHOULD have ended in a compromise that should satisfy all involved parties. This however is still not enough for some people, We are now passively aggresively insulted and slandered by Fabevil and Hefestus since our conduct in their attack they choose to initiate was not up to their expectations and fairly blatantly insulted by Halostrophe. All three of them will also spin the narrative and leave out details about what happened to demonize us into a projection of everything they did not like in V2, this being Women, Lesbians, Erpers, Metagamers, S2Kers, White Doves, Liberators, Minges and Failrpers.

1787755291059.png
The Lions should have S2Med, as if anyone in the history of Willard Network had ever done this? Did they also instruct all the citizens they hired to kill us to S2M since that's what the Lions would be doing.

1787755291062.png
Complains that we killed them in Self Defense, conveniently leaves out the part where they attacked us first with a massive mob of citizens they lied to into convincing them they will be killing bandits and spins the story into us being s2k hungry killers.

Blames the Black Flag for using the pistol they were provided in self defense as being too overpowered, as if the Black Flag was responsible for the servers weapon balancing. Also since this is a Source game the guns are not supposed to not be doing too much damage? The most popular game ever made on source is Counter Strike, where guns kill very quickly.

Not a single member of the Black Flag was a Liberator or a White Dove

Are there Women in the Black Flag yes? Are there Lesbians in the Black Flag? Maybe what does it matter?. Is the Black Flag a metagame ring? No

Before you bring up that Janek was also fighting, yes he was but I understand his frustrations and cannot micromanage how every member of our group acts.

Notice how Halostrophe is now the paragon of Good roleplay and all bad roleplay must be expunged from Willard through Discord insults. You know the player who played as part of the Stalker Syndicate in V2 that had a fairly vague motive in character for why they hate just the rebels in particular whilst being rebels themselves. But they had no shortage of Sigma edits of themselves killing people. If only Halostrophe was calling out Nanci on his behaviour then that would be something.

You see what people think about our faction. To reiterate, nobody in the Black Flag wanted that fight. We tried to act as humanitarians that would provide water and food to the district, we even set up a catacomb for the dead where every ragdoll we found would receive a small funeral ceremony and had plans to continue setting up clean bunk beds and a basic healthcare system. All with the goal of building up a foundation and a resistance network we can bring onto main. Instead because of the Cadavars attack on the third day and these people's opinions our faction's legacy is now a punching bag of everything these people hated in V2. And if this is what they openly declare in Discord im fairly suspicious about if their motive to go Pk another group on day 3 of the event was motivated purely by IC reasons (Those being that we did not want to buy drugs from them once) or if there was more OOC motive to their attack.

As one of the founding members I did not help build this faction up so that all my members can now be insulted and have it come to this on day 5.

The final straw in this is the selective treatment by Staff. I'm talking about our founder and leader getting a 1 day ban for failrp and his items removed since he ran away from a mugging after performing a /me without letting the other party react. Im not going to discuss if this counts as Failrp or not. As a result of this 5 members of the Staff team have unanimously come together to agree that the hammer must come down on the Black Flag and this is the only way to teach them to roleplay better.

On the other hand, when Failrp gets performed on the Black Flag, an entire Hazmat suit is removed and stolen from a downed member without a proper action. This would realistically require at least 5 minutes for someone to remove an entire hazard suit out of a body. You would have to figure out where all the straps and zips are on a piece of complex equipment you are not familiar with and slowly remove every part of it before packing it away. But in this case. All it results in is a warning since the player apologised, and they even let him keep the hazmat suit.

1787755291109.png
1787755291113.png

Where is the equal treatment? Either Failrp is punished with a 1 day ban meaning the hazmat thief should receive a 1 day ban and our suit be returned to us. Something I wouldn’t even want myself and would be satisfied with just getting the Hazmat suit back. On the other hand if Failrp is a warning if you apologise then our leader should get a warning and get to keep his stuff.

I'd also like for @dubik15 @Chit_guy and to be added to this thread so they can add their points.

Honestly if this thread was public it'd be classed as metabait.

I don't know where you got this idea from that myself, or my group had even cared about you in the first place. If I'm honest, upon the attack on day 3- I didn't even know you or your group were a thing. I thought the black flag & the watchers were the same thing, an event faction ran by the ET.

The attack wasn't even organised by us, it was entirely IC related and based on allies. I, myself and my group of 10+ people don't even care about what it is you're doing, if what you are doing does not directly ICly attempt to disrupt or outright harm the members of the group ICly. If people stop coming to me ICly and saying you're planning to do this to me, or my ally, or my members then we'd leave you alone. In regards to my characters death, the reason why it was argued was because whoever was GMing it decided to only tell one half of the event unfolding that S2K had started, so by the time Dubik had shot me, I thought we were still S2RP. Otherwise I'd have bolted outta there lol.

In regards to the screenshots to do with the members I've spoken to within my group; I've told them to stop interacting with you all entirely OOC if everything they say in our out of context is considered a hate crime. Being called women, or complaining about being shot in the head 2 seconds after S2K was called isn't something to be offended by. Yeah, I mean I'd be pissed too if someone called me a Liberator descendant, but then stop acting like it. Your faction, whether approved by ET or not was essentially a fast track into a Rebellion which doesn't actually fit the connotation of the event. The thing is, the anarchy part actually does work, however aiming it specifically at one faction isn't anarchy its an organised revolt. There's quite a large difference. But all I'm saying here is once again, just relax on the whole Cadaver is the spawn of satan thing when it comes to OOC, relaaaax. (getting triggered by being called a women is hilarious btw) ((i love women)) (((i am a woman))) ((((not really))))

Stop crying. Stop rage baiting. Stop acting like a victim, when threatening to use a weapon on day 3 of the event is actively inciting violence towards yourselves. If you did NOT do this, then that is totally acceptable and what was IC was IC.

I was alerted to this thread as another OOC accusation was made that myself or my group were actively trying to PK your members. Once again, we do not care about who is in the group or what the group is doing. Everything IC is IC, just stop saying stupid shit and planning silly things out in the open... Or metabait, just stop speaking to big mouths lmfao. Throughout the thread it's Cadaver did this, Cadaver did that. Idk if you know, but I sadly don't have a group that is 50% of the server pop at peak time. Not everything that happens to you is something to do with myself or Cadaver as a whole.

Please understand, my reply comes from a place of frustration, already you are setting the bar low in regards to what is acceptable and what is not. The screenshots are frustrating, arguments that happen from IC into OOC really piss me off because well, everyone involved; get a life. I want you to do better, I want everyone involved to do better. Play the game, stop taking things OOCly.

In regards to the player report, it was reported to me by another player. In an act of divine wisdom, I decided to pass it to the entire staff team to decide upon. I had no say in what the verdict was nor did I want anything extreme to happen. What was decided, was decided upon the entire staff team that spoke within the thread and a verdict was decided. Whoever is leaking you members of the staff team involved shouldn't be as it is not your place to know how many, or who actually decided your ban. But for real; I've seen the clip, it's pretty stupid and you knew what you were doing. Did it warrant a ban, probably not- but the time in which it took for the verdict to come down by an unaligned party in this instance left no room for a rollback to take place.

If yourselves at any point would want to speak to me to go over whatever in a more personal matter, I am absolutely open to it and allowing you to understand the difference between OOC and IC. Message me at anytime, I am staff and therefor my DMs are open. However, before making a report thread; please, if I'm in charge of people always come to me and I will sort it before it hits the forums! I hate arguing on the forums, it's boring, unrequired and I'm doing this right after I got off work due to numerous DMs. Get back in the game and have fun!

Hello,

This case has been reviewed using the information and statements provided by both sides, alongside the information presented within this thread. After reviewing the circumstances, it has ultimately been decided that this Complaint is rejected.

To begin with, the contents of the complaint and its overall scope make it difficult to establish exactly who the complaint is directed towards and the exact incident in dispute. There are references to OOC drama allegedly carrying over from IC events on both sides, as well as references to the PK/S2K situation. My understanding is that the latter was already addressed separately by another team. As a result, there is limited information within this thread that establishes a specific case of OOC targeting or misconduct requiring further staff action.

We have investigated and found that the original starting point of this In-Character Gang war that you faced was the result of the theme of this event which D1 is built off of, that being gang rivalries and war. While there is salvaging efforts and all that passive stuff ongoing, part of this event and its theme is the gangs, their wars and rivalries and their control over the District as they play territory and influence games.

What Black Flag experienced was an IC coordinated effort starting out with just a few characters sent to investigate and watch over the "Anarchists" and as this group got more and more information, they relayed it back and used the information they now had to their own gangs advantage, using to fuel distrust with your gang from the other gangs eventually feeling threatened with the fact your group had now achieved weaponry (I believe it was a pistol) to make it seem like your gang was going to kill all the others.

This subsequently developed into an IC effort to rally multiple gangs and independent characters against Black Flag. The resulting escalation led to the gang war and, subsequently, the S2K/NLR incident that has already been addressed to our understanding. There are also some smaller matters stemming from the wider situation such as the ban involving one of the members which are being reviewed or addressed separately where necessary.

However, based on everything we have reviewed in game and in the discords, we have found no evidence that the initial plans or the subsequent escalation was organized through OOC means, motivated by OOC hatred or otherwise intended to target Black Flag outside of the IC roleplay itself. While some passive-aggressive comments have been made OOC via discord or otherwise, these do not appear to have been the cause of the events described in this complaint, nor do we currently have evidence that they were used to facilitate or coordinate the IC actions against your group.

For that reason, the remaining consequences of the conflict should be allowed to play out through the IC environment. The actions taken against Black Flag were a consequence of IC decisions, the aforementioned information gathering and the actions of rival groups within the current event; rather than evidence of an OOC campaign against your faction. If further issues arise that constitute a separate breach of the rules, those can of course be raised through the appropriate forum threads with the relevant evidence.

If you have any further disputes, this thread will remain open for another 12 hours, but subsequently will be closed past that time limit.

Thats why I didn't make it public.

The weapon remained in storage and was only used to defend against the Cadavar attack.

I thought the black flag & the watchers were the same thing, an event faction ran by the ET.
Ok but why did you think this? Shouldn't it be clear that they are a player group.

Ok sure we can do that.

Yeah after everything that happened following the posting of this thread In the Black Flag chat I honestly understand your reassoning and I apologise that I started this mess. I worked off the information that my guys gave me and what I myself knew.
