Debate on which is better (Teamspeak - Discord)

Good day people of this sad thread, I've decided, cause I am bored and in lock down in Australia, I thought making a debate on Team-speak vs Discord would be a interesting subject to talk about due to their rivalry,​

TS is superior in hardware usage. Barely uses any resources compared to Discord.
Is simple looking and very basic. Very good!
Has plenty of addons that are great! For example, detects in-game proximity to others and activates VC. (GTA RP servers on FiveM for example)

yes that is true but discord brings people together very easy to navigate and creating a server is easy and efficient without renting one, discord also provides a community base pinging system(announcements or notifying you of an active chat) that's always active unless you turn it off there for not missing out on anything that you want to do.

Lots of plugins compatible with TS3 such as ACRE2, TFAR
Useful for playing in clan/guild
Perms are easy to set
No premium is required for posting high-quality pics
Can set custom IP without paying
Good VoIP quality

Cons:
You've to pay for TS or License depending whether you want to buy off hosting server or no
Lacks good chat option
Not community-friendly
Stuck only to one region

Customization which is against TOS
Easy to use
More suited for big communities
A lot of free bots to use

You've to pay for a custom URL (Server boosts)
VoIP quality
Limited file upload (Unless you pay for Nitro)
No plugins such as ACRE/TFAR
Shitty 1000 member limit (as soon ss you hit over 1000 members on discord you can't see offline people)

Team speak has Proximity but Discord has free servers and isn't that hard to use.

I prefer Discord but don't mind TS since I need it for Arma

But I've been spoiled by Discords mix of chat room, forums, streaming service and decent enough voice chat. I noticed there's a stark contrast between age groups and which you like more.

Discord is just generally the superior community service which is more important, unless you need a billion people in a voice chat at once.

This basically. And TS3 is a lot cheaper compared to host (assuming we'd convert a small fraction of nitro boosts into actual $$$)

Well the one thing I despise about Discord is their draconian Terms of Service which forces us to implement absurdly harsh censorship rules (or else they'll ban us)... However Discord is a platform that is really good for large communities with easy communication and that's why I still prefer it over Teamspeak

I mean there is Guilded which tries its best to copy discord, I heard it's way more relaxed on the kind of stuff.

Discord is fantastic in areas but so shit in other areas that it leaves one to desire a better platform. It’s completely ridiculous that an IRC is placing censorship and limitations on communication on a communication platform. It’s like if a phone service cut your service for saying bad words. In a healthy market, this would be a death sentence for the platform but nothing exists that has the interface quality of Discord, so woe is us.
