have people apply for zombie/headcrab

No disrespect to the zombie players, but some are questionable. And considering they potentially dish out PKs, there needs to be some standards.

Headcrab should be a Play to Lose role, people seem way too gung-ho in how they act as crabs. Your an animal, your not gonna rush into a crowd of four people and try to take a host, that's completely insane. IMO it should be about being a beatable enemy, not some random PK monster you pay for. Its way more interesting to spice up someones character with a headcrab fight they win than just "/me jumps on you and kills you". Headcrabs are weak, they should act like it.

A Xenian faction would be great. Entirely P2L
Something like this would make sense, some of the headcrab players do some real weird things and generally speaking they shouldn't even be out of the sewers because they don't have the same ability to interact with objects like normal citizens for example.

Working on getting a Xenian faction.... It's slow going though

What if the Xen faction was just built on over time, with more developed playable creatures added later when time is available? Like it could be made available soon, but only have the headcrab, and other creatures can be added after-the-fact? Its just an idea I had and I don't know how "Do-able" it is, though.

They shouldn't be doing that, so I recommend to pick up their descriptions or names if have.

Just a mention here before a witch hunt begins but Headcrabs can leap up to each individual level. Mechanically. The only problem is the ladders sticky-zone often catches you.

With that in mind it's not surprising people just skip the annoyance. The real concern is any opening doors.

Well essentially headcrabs and similar from what I've been told can only really get to the surface if basically let by another player but technically they could get RP wise but their abilities are limited what they can RP compared to Humans.

Well, HL: A also shows that the poison headcrab variants are capable of scaling walls. So by proxy that is a (mechanically unsupported) option. Unless we do not consider that canon.

But yeah in general if someone is not playing headcrab as P2L then they're doing it wrong.

I suppose if it would be a poison headcrab and so, then could take the canon ideas but I do agree with the P2L as it's purely a donator faction atm.

Xen faction's been accepted, this suggestion is really just having the From what I can see functional headcrab role added as a small version of the xen faction, with more realistic standards for getting it.

Aha you know we can't see that
Oops it's a private thread. Well if you guys have some suggestions to add to making a xen faction or so then would be worth listing.

I'd go with more open headcrab roles as a "test" of the xen faction, and see how people use it, then use what you learn for the larger creatures since the idea is still the same of being a P2L random encounter.
