To say this in short, this is basically a defaced CP Uniform with some altered modifications.

Appearance:

First off, the lights on the belt would be shut off. The uniform has visible dirt and grime on it as well as a new marked-off armband.

(it could maybe be made a bit more obvious, but this is just a proof of concept)

Crafting recipe:

1 CP Uniform
2 Refined Metal
1 Adhesive
1 Cloth (for the armband)

Pros:
Allows rebels to pass through Combine forcefields and even disable them
Removes the Biosignal basically when found on camera also masking their identity

Cons:
Removes the whole idea of actual subtlety or attempting to work undercover
Can easily be mistaken for a normal CP

Remove the part about Webels allowing to pass through Combine forcefields, and you'll have my fullest support.

Removing the biosignal would mean you ICly won't be able to access any Combine Tech, including the forcefield.

Easier solution that requires little to no coding - you can just steal somebody's suit and impersonate them.

I want to feel like I'm actually @Wraygun. Blessed be his name.

Giving Webels such technology will be a clunch, so I'm only supportive on the armor and clothing itself. No more, no less.

You can already wear CP suits, they just don't work. Dispatch can disable their biosignal which turns the suit into nothing more than a fancy gasmask and bulletproof vest. Although, the ability to craft a rebel skinned yet otherwise useless CP uniform for cheap would be quite nice. WN7 has a custom model for this, with some minor changes to the model, lambdas, and is noticeably dirtier. I'll post it in a sec

This is a pretty redundant suggestion imo for two reasons.

  1. Rebel uniforms are already primarily composed of stolen goods. Not only clothing - but also armor. The chest plate used is ripped straight off of a CP uniform.
  2. If a rebel wants a CP uniform, they can just take it and put in the description "Has lambda graffiti upon it." Would a rebel do this? Probably not, but they could.

I think the idea is someone wants to use this for infiltration, not for combat.

Same issue... Why would they put lambda graffiti on it or alter it at all if it's for infiltration instead of just using the base uniform? This is more of a "I'm a rebel who wants to customize my stolen CP uniform" kind of suggestion

What if it rather "masks" it
CP leads/lore boys don't like fun and made biosignals locked to DNA instead of just something that checks if the user is alive, firing off an alert when they die. So unfortunately never gonna happen till new people replace current ones

Way to be negative man. We're not as close minded as you think we are. We just think about balancing before giving into demands.

yeah trying to maintain a cohesive universe is overrated

i completely agree with u dude
Ah yes, the cohesion of DNA locked suits but not guns, having enough computing power somewhere in the suit to instantly recognize the wrong DNA but not enough to have the overwatch AI in control all the time.

The CP/rebel dynamic is totally balanced, my bad, no changes need to ever be made...

isn't taking off the suit outside of the nexus an auto-ping to dispatch and every other unit online

why wouldn't there be measures enacted to disable a cop suit's biosignal in the event it gets stolen or w/e

cops are already tracked, it's not out of the realm of possibility

do you just want rebels to steal a uniform and it's not even deactivated or

amazing approach

This is already possible. If you wear a CP's suit, you show up with their name in chat/scoreboard.

HOWEVER...

On the CP's visor, your name shows up as your actual name. This should be fixed, as any visor vectors would be identified by a unit's biosignal.

I like the idea of the use of infiltration, and Ruffian's concern.
