What are peoples general thoughts on the server?

The guide isn't the bible or the Imperial Guardsman handbook. If you're here to RP then, please, actually do it.
You can yell this until the cows come home but unfortunately as long as the guide exists as a well-entrenched document you are giving the people who want to roleplay as constantly oppressive and "destructive" the excuse to do so.

I've learned from experience that all the "please just fucking roleplay"'s in the world doesn't work if something like an extensive guide for conduct exists, or if units are under threat IC (ie; 99's) for doing it.

The paper could've continued with a few edits, but George decided it would be a good idea to go get himself shot.

You were actually charged on your record for Felony Insight. It became Conspiracy after you made the moronic decision to well, do everything @RedHotGinger just stated. Insulted the Cps, say you will do it again and claim to commit prior conspiracies. Congratulations on your death. Stop being a crybaby and accept the fact you got yourself killed.

I have 0 tolerance for liars.

They are complete autonomous communities. They become under WN because they use the WN framework. Their workings, developers and staff are all their own, just use our content on top of their own designs.

Lore should always exist. You try not having lore and you end up with a chaotic world with no direction. No one will know what is what, no one will know how anything works, no will know what the history of the world is, etc. It always must be documented. Hell, no events would happen if there was no lore to build off of. Any good event writer knows that without a world to build off of, there is nothing.

This is being worked on. Trying to reboot the loyalists and get their events going and fix the Civil Administration all ICly. Citizen events are being told to be focused more on to take a step away from the Rebels and CPs.

This is a point brought up a few times and a hard one to solve. Since there must always be a balance. Some people want the hl2 immersions, others don't. You drift too far away from lore of the world, you could create a hole in the story. Stick too close to it, it becomes bland and boring. So ye, it's all a game of balance and becomes quite hefty to handle.

We have no staff with plotlines being stamped out atm? Not sure where this came from. The storyline reboot for futurism is in progress with a summit one around too that are being worked on and moving along just fine. Any other event has already happened.

That is a lie, read the appeal and note the logs. He gained multiple orange tier violations in less than an hour which got him killed. Not the paper.

This is an individual player choice atm. SOme cps are unique, others are not. Some will let a citizen go, others will not. It really depends on who you interact with.
Nah I was told off the bat it was conspiracy. Don’t get how dissing cops leads to Conspiracy.

Only said, sarcastically, that I had 6 charges after they said it was conspiracy. lol

The only things I said from when I got detained for saying a cop wanted to see me to when I was charged with conspiracy was:

“Do you have anything comfier?”
“I’m the famous artist, George Brasseur.”
“Is that my newspaper article? What is it doing here? I can print more.”

Didn’t know that was conspiracy. I have no sympathy for liars.

90% of the time people get amputated for stupidity.
You're part of that 90%

Stop ranting about something that was already decided upon, and get back to the topic.
90% of cops are 7’0 edgy robocops that roleplay like a 13 year old fanic writer.

You are apart of the 90%

Really like the comments here most are constructive enough to work on. But let me say just a quick thing that we have to be grateful for the opportunities that have formed and developed. Keep in mind that there is always development going on and that is the most important thing. I doubt there will ever be a finished product per-say and that is what makes this beautiful.

So there is always room for improvement and changes so remember that. Most of you have more concrete concerns and constructive criticism towards the system and keeping it constructive is the most important part. Love it ^^

Someone said that most people can’t see the bigger picture other than just “you committed a verdict. die time.” And I think that fits.

Willard has just about everything going for it except for the RP quality. I find that the RP is just lacking, and everyone is stuck in the tried and true classic of walking around waiting for some equally boring work shift or whatever else to happen

Don't let players become reactive, let them be proactive. If players are waiting for events your server is fucked long term, allow them to do things themselves without getting PK'ed. Expeditions were a good avenue for this but they're taking a million years.

citizen RP is dog water, but that's how it is on every server. there really isn't much incentive to play a citizen. loyalist benefits are superficial at most and -- as i've said before -- right now it serves simply as a gateway for new players to achieve other whitelists such as CMU, CWU, CRU, CP, CCA, etc. aurawatch is able to make it work because there is a true struggle to survive and progression feels rewarding because it poses a challenge. you can't really do that on a server that's open 24/7. any sort of "schedule" is impossible because you can't expect players to be around every day at the same time. just problems with RP as a whole.

i'll say it again. automation is necessary if you don't want biased admins overseeing every situation. yes, that means citizens should not be attacking each other with trash scripts ("b-but it's a fucking glass shard i should be able to shank you with it")

freedom of roleplay is a good concept but only in the sense of allowing your character to have a background and story you choose.

nowadays, admins or scripts are needed to legitimize roleplay. you DO need scripts to roleplay, or else you devolve into an LOOC argument. why use an interactive 3d setting if you force everyone to imagine all of their actions with /mes?

if we take the admins out of the equation (that means having them not have to RP mod everything by having everything scripted) it will be better for everyone involved

general thought and the hottest take ever: people cry too much

Just more events for the whole server rather than specific factions, like others have said.

general thought and the hottest take ever: people cry too much
This but its less of an issue with the server as a whole, more just certain individuals that I have observed.

Enjoying it so far though.

I have fun bullying people.
I don't even like HL2rp, or really roleplay gamemodes on Gmod at all.
I just like bullying people.
Willard is the only reason I play Gmod and it is just to bully people.
All my hours on Gmod are spent playing Willard bullying people.
It's a good server to bully people on.
