Name of the Admin you were banned by: Maroon
How long is the ban for?: 1 Week (3 warnings)
The reason you were banned?: Disrespecting another player
Why do you wish to be unbanned?:

I was banned for making a sarcastic comment to another player, replying to their lore comment with, "Read the wiki or shut the fuck up loser," while meaning no actual offence. We were engaged in a casual conversation and Paco made a lore comment which I sarcastically replied to with the previously mentioned statement, with the singular comment escalating into an argument. During this argument, they asked if I knew what empathy was, that they hated gamers, and continued on a tirade about my singular comment. I made several comments which weren't even antagonistic after that point in response to them ranting about me, not even insulting them back, which were passive-aggressive, but made no attempt to insult them back and tried to explain the situation and that I did not disrespect them out of anywhere and wanted to convey that I didn't even intend to disrespect them but was unable to as by that point they left-- in which I've shown immediate remorse for my comment and even defended their overreaction as, despite the mistaken nature of the singular comment, I still understood how they easily mistook it for me disrespecting them.

I think it was just an overreaction of a person who took great offence to a single comment which got me warned and subsequently banned for a week because of two prior warnings which would've expired three days from now. I don't think I should get warned for someone's clear overreaction to a singular comment when after that point I didn't even try to argue or insult them but rather attempted to convey why I said what I said and that I didn't mean it as disrespect towards them.

I didn't realize they were upset until they asked me if I knew what empathy was, hence why I made the comment, "I don't respect losers," as I didn't understand the severity of the situation and that they were truly upset.

I thought that we were joking around since it was a casual conversation just before they started questioning whether or not I knew what empathy was. This is somewhat evident by the fact that once I realized this, my writing changed to become more grammatically correct as it often does in more serious situations (e.g: periods & capitalization).

I made no attempts to disrespect them, simply calling out their obvious overreaction and behaviour after that point, which I don't think is outright disrespectful, but they were undoubtedly passive-aggressive.

Immediately after I reply to their empathy comment, which in itself wasn't disrespectful nor antagonistic, they immediately called me insane which provoked me into making passive-aggressive comments, only making the situation more bitter and hostile. That all took place within two minutes making me feel somewhat overwhelmed as I hoped to deescalate the situation once Maroon had stepped in to explain my actions and rectify them with Paco.

Hi Pipri,

I have taken a look at the logs; and from what I can see, you weighed in with a rather hostile attitude, which from the response I can actually see, wasn't welcomed at all. I can also see prior to this, the discussion was not as heated as you made it; the tone of the conversation altered into a rather uncomfortable one when you weighed in with your comment regarding a player being a. "Fucking loser." All because they were having a friendly discussion regarding a topic, which is welcomed.

Your statement of. "Falsely warned." Is entirely false, as you can see below, we have specific rules on this matter in which you have decided to break, because rules are broken, why does that make your ban false? You're really showing very little remorse for your ban here, have you gone out your way to apologise to the user or are you still refusing to understand that insulting someone won't always give you the higher-ground in discussions/debates?

#6. Other rules such as spamming, being an overall asshole to other members, respect, etc... must be followed as well. These are common sense, so don't mess around.
#1. Act mature and be polite. No slurs of any kind and be respectful of your fellow members. Use common sense.

Are you able to understand why the other player may have taken offence to this, when you have weighed in with a very hostile and passive-aggressive attitude which the tone was rather peaceful beforehand? This is not how you debate a point, or have a discussion; your ban was also down to the warning limits, which you already knew and probably should've taken into account your attitude beforehand.

I won't deny this yet, as I want to see your response to this matter; to me, you've made zero-efforts to fix the situation, instead you've simply chucked in that you didn't mean to show offence, yet still continue to try and protect/defend what you did wrong. Please note, we didn't catch you doing this; this was reported. Also, with the added fact that he's left the Discord server after this alteration.

I never meant to deliberately antagonize nor disrespect them, as I too was enjoying the conversation, but can see my fault in my lack of care to clarify my intent. I've shown remorse for my actions after the fact and I have admitted fault to my actions and defended the reaction of the person after they left when others attempted to ridicule their behaviour. I regret them leaving, even before the ban, but I still believe that I can't be blamed entirely for Paco's departure as I believe they were overreacting, though I never intended to force a player at all to leave and felt guilty afterwards for such. I never called them an F*ing loser, rather I just didn't have the logs to see what I stated.

I wasn't particularly joyed by any outcome where I had made a player feel uncomfortable to the point that they left, but I also feel as if I wasn't given a chance to explain my actions and apologize at the time. I had resolved this on an individual level with the person but that was of my own volition as I did not want to have a guilty conscience for making someone leave, and I'd rather my case show for my actions rather than my apology.

I've reached the consensus that regardless of the intent behind my message, it was interpreted as me disrespecting them and because of that, I don't believe I can defend my actions because it escalated to the point where it became disrespectful by the sheer nature of it and my lack of proper care to deescalate it sooner. I never took into consideration how that person felt until they had left and I was able to reflect on my actions afterwards.

Right,

I will be lowering your ban down to two-days; as you have accepted your wrong-doings and I have faith you will be more careful in how you induct yourself in a conversation.
