This is a suggestion I thought up at night after really pondering on why NA activity is so low. From what I have seen, activity spikes on CP's on EU when a RL flags on or a well liked SCN / Disp player (yeah I know, favoritism is cringe but some of you Disps 99 for breathing in the wrong direction). Currently, the NA timezone does not have a RL dedicated to it, hence its a huge demotivator for quite a lot of CP's that want to roleplay with leadership roles and find nothing. Not only because RL's are required for Intention upgrades in our current system, they are also required for QP and can give STC, and generally being able to look up to someone who should at least know most of what Civil Protection is about both as a IC and OOC role. Without that, NA hours will stay dead no matter how many American CP's we accept because they will be hardstuck i5 to i4 with no i2, i1, or RL's to help them. Most of the CP's at this hour only flag on if a fellow CP they like to RP with is on as well, and if not, they flag off onto a more interesting character.

This might not seem like a problem but the less CP's are flagged, the less other CP's feel like flagging on; self perpetuating cycle.

And no I am not making this suggestion to make me RL, I just want a RL to actually talk to during my timezone.

Also as an example of this in action, @Neonity got promoted to RL off of their i1 and half the UNION squad that I never saw before suddenly started playing again instantly.

@Memesky @Maroon @numbers23541

I am an NA RL though unfortunately I can't promote people other than suggest promotions. I have noticed a lot of people being stuck in the i4 ranks etc but an RL has to be online from their tagline to promote them. Perhaps our leads can throw out some new thing that allows any RL to promote any unit (considering taglines are literally just names at this point)

Yeah you are pretty active from what I see, I didn't know you were NA though. I don't see KING's much on NA timezone so I just assumed you stayed up late on EU.

Only one person joined KING from the last batch of recruits, thus I can only promote that one person :angrycop:

RL suggestions for promotions to other RLs are held at high value. If you are an NA RL and see a unit worth promoting, recommend them to their RL. I did that earlier and got a unit out of my squad promoted

I will say personally that while yes some timezones could do with more x and y, it is not actually possible to fill timezone requests when it comes to these things. Whether it be factions, staff or general play, a timezone specific suggestion can and will never be fulfilled, this is because you get only what you are given, which in this case... you need NA players first. Then said NA players need to apply for CP themselves. Then said NA players need to then prove themselves worthy of an RL spot.... and even then it is not a guarantee for them to play in NA times and might just play on the border of NA time or not really be that active much at all.

In the end, these timezone specific suggestions.... suffice to say... hold no weight. It's a tough pill to swallow but it's a fact of life as a whole. We can't build humans to fill slots unfortunately, we have to rely on whatever the server is given by the players who join it.

Thats fine.

Maybe alternative suggestions as stated here; such as RL's being able to promote and give STC out of their squad as long as they tell the RL of that squad later, etc.

I can understand the struggle but at the same time, this is also still an issue and new waves of CP's won't fix it from what ive seen.

I'm not a CP so I don't have any input on being unable to progress or anything like that but keeping a RL from promoting a unit outside of their tagline seems a tad silly. So long as you stress that stepping on the toes of your fellow rank leaders is heavily frowned upon, it could and should theoretically work. Of course, that means that the RLs have to be responsible and only promote and give STC to those outside of their tagline when their RL is not on and to have extraordinary cause for such.

It shouldn't be a case that happens regularly but if it is warranted, it should be possible.

Meanwhile I'm over here in Australian timezones literally 10-11 hours ahead of my RL. Though, KING is always on around my timezone. Not sure if getting another NA RL would fix it as there is one already though.

Think it would be worth pinging @Memesky and @Maroon and @numbers23541 for that as they are CP leads.

Some peoples entire playtime on their CP depends on their RL playing and I understand why. The RL is the deciding factor between ranking up or down, and gaining STC. It’s why active RLs bring active squads.

This is already allowed. As are promotions; I saw a unit getting promoted last night.

My personal solution for this having good communication with my own squad units. I also made it abundantly clear that you can ask for a promotion if you feel like you deserve one. I will make a post about this in announcements later. As things stand, we have a handful of NA rank leaders that all seem to be doing their job quite well. The best I can do is make an announcement that units are encouraged to ask for promotions from their rank leaders if they feel like they are fit for it, and to encourage rank leaders to communicate more.
