The Incident (TM)

I don't normally write these sort of complaints, but honestly this one just rubbed me the wrong way enough to write a complaint.

Today (1/7/2022) at around 8:30 PM CST, I had been in the middle of an S2RP fight with an officer and a loyalist. During this fight, the loyalist managed to successfully poke out one of my eyes, and temporarily disable the other one. I managed to break away from the fight, and crawled away. Unknowingly towards an officer. My character - blind, scared and angry was scooting away, flailing his pickaxe in the air. That's when Commonspace's character showed up. They shot my partner in crime just a few moments before I scooted towards them flailing my pickaxe. After doing the action of scooting toward them, and flailing the pickaxe, I asked if they wanted to roll. To which I got a very blunt, "no"

I was mildly annoyed at the officers lack of willingness to engage in roleplay with me, or even risk an injury. Though I rubbed it off, figuring "Eh, it's understandable. I'm just swinging wildly anyway."

However, a few moments later my character had just a few moments to think to themselves. Still blinded by the blood in his eyes, he could see the officer next to him faintly. With one hand, he swung towards the officers shin, albeit not very coordinated. I once more asked the officer if they wanted to roll after they preformed their rather power-gamey action, and they once more responded with "no."

This is what genuinely set me off. This time, there was clear lack of willingness to even acknowledge my action, because this individual cares more about winning then roleplay. I was frustrated, and let them know. Thankfully @Neonity stepped in and told them not blatantly ignore me. Which I appreciated, even if I failed my roll, I was more contempt with that, rather than being ignored.

So - to conclude this little rant. I understand the Neonity spoke with this individual, but I'd like it to be something other than just a talking to. Mostly so if they behave like this in the future, it's been documented that they've done it before.

Tagging staff members who I believe were present in observer at the time.
@Neonity
@Hades
@Jinx
@Vinyl
And of course, tagging the individual themselves.

Hi! I have personally spoken with commonspace about his behaviour.

He can understand where you’re coming from, and realizes his mistake and what went wrong, as discussed with me in private.

Powergame behaviour in Civil Protection is not something I’m particularly fond of, especially when the target is already at a disadvantage. You don’t ignore a /me because you decide for yourself that their swing is too slow to hit you.

I hope to have informed you enough with this.

I more or less made this as a way of documenting the behavior. What you've done is fine with me.

Yes, I was the scanner. :)

The action itself was alright. It did fall flat when the timescale allowed for the unit to respond. I agree with what Goose wrote here, and see that the situation was dealt with.
