Greetings I play Maura Azure the director of the CMU.
I wanted to come forward with a problem we are currently having.

Me and neonity a while back spoke about a problem happening in the game, this problem relates to the fact That players found a way to farm the sewers.
They would go to the sewers grab all the scripts and run to the cmu to ask for a spore check, we would do the rp call a staff and he would heal them off the spores.
They would then loop the process again, now to avoid this me and neonity decided to change it and not call staff to change the spores of a person to avoid this happening.
The following protocol was made

If a citizen shows up with above 60% spores we call officers and let them deal with the citizen, we also made it so that we don't call mods anymore and instead try to craft the script of the xen potion. But now upon realizing the potion script is incredibly hard to make, it's almost impossible to get enough to treat the amount of patients we have with spores. Not only the xen potion has some other Stat boosting that we did not want to apply on the patients, when it should be the opposite.
So we don't have other options than let a infected person stroll about the city or lock them in the cmu for a bit.
Wich in the end doesn't fix their issue.

This of course is a problem, so I tought of a fix for this along with votton and neonity.

Since the xen potion does some stuff we also don't desire, aka buff to stats and curing the eye problems.

We tought of
1-requesting a script to be made and implemented into the game where we are able to craft a blue solution that heals the player only off the spores but causes some harsh side effects on their stats for a good while.
Also one of the ingredients that could be used to make the blue solution could be erebus mucus
And perhaps require around level 25 or so of medical skill?

We are looking for a drug that the cmu can't mass produce making it too available or easy to make.
The drug could be made from the stuff we collect in the jars from the xen flora infestations, the higher the infestation in the rank the less we need of jars to make the potion, like erebus mucus would Need perhaps 4 or 5 of them along with some other chemical. This could create perhaps some rp along with the cwu and Cps to go into the sewers in search of infestations to collect more erebus mucus for the solution.
The drug should also apply some debuffs to the citizens for a good while to make them thjnk twice again before running back to the sewers so soon

It would be great to her your opinions on this amther and ideas as well..

I thought spores were meant to be unable to be removed except for the natural regen?
Well it was made so that we could fo a lung wash aka saline and all of that medrp but... Like it would just make someone sit trough 15 minutes of rp and go back to easy farming. Now instead they will 1 be placed under watch if they have too high spores, they will be questioned on where they got these spores from. And the treatment will cause some big debuffs on their stats keeping them from going back in again to farm again. It also opens rp for the cmu to collect more erebus mucus and enter the sewers to find infestations.

issue with this is that any time the units (most likely the ones escorting CWU/CMU down there find a civ just scavenging, they get shot dead, because thats what the units do. They shoot people down there. cause 9 times out of 10 they're rebels. that 1 time its usually just a civ scavving around or exploring. It puts more pressure on actual resistance down there, and honestly it kinda does suck when the units go down there for no reason other then a sweep. Its stupid because chances are, the CWU workers or CMU workers would have to go through the entire sewer system. And thats just not feasible. (Logically by the way mechanics wise an admin can just put shit near the entrance) but yeah... Thats my 2 cents.

Well that is why there is rebel cmu they can let their fellow rebels know that the cmu is going down there and warn them before hand. The have all the tools for it it sup to them to be organized and figure it out

I type too fast on my phone, I get a lot of damn typos..

There is always an IC solution to this aswell, if a person has come to the medical centre two to three times, for example, then you'd flag them for suspicious activity.

Xen Herbs aren't obtained through looting as far as I am aware so the easiest solution to get rid of Spores is going to the CMU (though that should be a get out of jail free card once or twice and not forever.)

Yes but the problem is clearing that person of spores and then having them rush down to the sewers to farm without having a repercussion from it other than just being marked as "under investigation".
And they themselves can then not come back again to the cmu, it still doesn't stop them or hinder them from going back down to farm easely.
They can just not show up to the cmu a third time, but it still did not stop them from going back down multiple times in a row after being cleaned of spores completely.

Instead of this, you could just impliment a harsher punishment system. Below say...40% spores? Thats fine. 40-60, mark them suspicious. Above 60%? Very suspicious. Re-educate. Above 80%? Clearly and obviously been into the underground. "Off world relocation". Just make it so people who spend too long farming can't get treatment and just have to deal with it. Realistically, anything above 40 is obviously from more than just a spore growth in or around the city. (Desite that not ACTUALLY filling the meter just ICly) Unless u slept next to it. And in terms of the re-ed and suspicuous punishments for levels below 80%, refer to the current 3 strike rule alongside this. Additonally, you could make the re-ed extremley harsh as a mandatory guideline. So much so that the citizen would be too injured to even attempt to survive the sewers again.

From a Civil Protection perspective, if someone reports to the CMU with spores, call Civil Protection officer over to charge the person with V603, considering Citizens aren't allowed to be in the sewers... And as far as Civil Protection is concerned, the only way to get infected is to go into the sewers.

They do it once, you treat them and they get re-educated.
They do it again, you treat them and they get re-educated.
They do it a third time in one week, they get shot.

Now, if we actually started enforcing this, it'd kill spore RP completely. Rebel players will just "Metagame" this procedure. Though you can argue it is public knowledge, but that's not the point. They'll just learn not to come to the CMU to be treated, because that gets them a beating and an execution if it is done repeatedly.

EDIT:

Heya, posted at the same time so I didn't see your reaction.
Technically from an IC standpoint, the only way to get spores inside your system would either be to start eating spores if they do grow around (Essentially an instant 10-96 classification) or to have been active in the sewers. And entering the sewers as a citizen warrants a V603 charge (-3 to -10 SC and a re-education) under what is currently written in the guide.

I didn't even know this was craftable. From my understanding the Xen herbs aren't conventionally obtainable through looting.
Yes and it does a lot of

The problem is that the terminal verdict and punishments are not up to us the cmu, it's up to the Combine. It's the cp who has to act upon our report, we simply just take a patient, test them for the amount of spores if too high we call a officer and we allowed them to deal with him however they see fit. If it's low we treat them and add a note to their profile that they came in once for spores.

See this is where the problem is at, yesterday we had a officer come in for a patient that showed up 2 times in a row for having spores. And the officer says it's not illegal to be in the sewers and just shrugged it off and walked away.
So us at the cmu we have to believe oocly in what the player says xbevause he can walk in there with 90% of spores and say he has 20.
The only way to go around that is to be able to see how many spores they have trough some command or script like a test kit or something.
As for the whole treatment thing, they will just simply run back to the sewers and come back to us to get healthy again and go back to farm once more. So the only way I see of fixing this issue would be either
1 cmu stops treating people with spores completely, we only test them and handle a disposable mask.
2 we make a drug that will cure the spores partially and give debuffs to keep the player from running back down knowing he's weak.
The drug would perhaps be similar to what a chemotherapy is, it leaves you with weakness and some side effects.
And as for peopllle just ignoring spore rp? If you really do want to fix that you can apply debuffs from having spores, atle already added injury debuffs now even after being healed you will be hurt and have a debuff added for some time.
This keeps people from just running into the cmu after being shot 20 times, hacked by a axe, bitten by 30 headcrabs and then we put a bandaid on them and they run out to fight again like nothing happened.

While the Officer can lie to you ICly, or they simply didn't know.
Entering the sewer as a Citizen is a crime. We usually don't do anything about it because if we catch you down there we usually have bigger fish to fry.

This is why I wish we had a more advanced medical system.
Instead of it saying "Ye this person is injured" imagine if you could see that a person has "Five lacerations and three bite marks".
Civil Protection is going to have a couple of questions that cannot be shrugged off by just saying "Oh ye mate, just fell of a ladder"

i mean the SPECIFICs is something that can just stay off, what i mean is the fact that you can be 100 ok and run back tofight, The devs fixed that now and you should think before you run back in battle because your stats will be suffering.

To be fair i would like to hear more from the staff team and what they thing.

Denied.
We have deliberately tried to avoid healing spores for gameplay balance. Being able to sewer-dive, go to the surface to get fixed up and then return to the sewers makes the spores/gas redundant. There is supposed to be a risk of going down there, and staying for prolonged periods of time.
