So, I got banned.
I appealed
(and got denied)
(RIP my CP app)

I suppose I'll create this thread to start a discussion with the community about this whole event.

Long story short, basically messed around yesterday with a few folks in VC and I decided, why not mess around for a moment. So, I threw myself off of the 4th floor of the RDT trying to do a /charfallover. It ended short and after getting revived I immediately got permabanned afterward. I'll be fair, I was messing around and overall being goofy however, this is a one-time incident, I've been here since the very beginning of the server, V1 and V2 and throughout all of it I've acted seriously, I've partaken in events and I've helped contribute. A permaban over something simple as a joke is absurdly harsh.
A day before this whole scandal I was in the Pint with a few people (no names will be mentioned) and people were messing around, goofing, and overall could be seen as unserious to some admins, it simply happened that the person watching over me and who banned me decided to crack down hard, had the same person been during this event I can only assume it would end like mine.

This also sparks another discussion, the way bans should be handed out.
I'll be fair here and say that permabans are for the worst of the worst, DDOS attackers, actually unserious minges, etc. Instead, these bans are being handed out to people like me, @hawke, @AtlasYEET, @Merlinsclaw, and even @Mothra (who was recently unbanned) either only had a few warnings or nothing at all.
Week or day bans should be given instead, I would be fine with being banned for a day over my actions, it's completely understandable to give a much lighter punishment. Willard's current system on how bans should be dealt with is it operates on past infractions rather than the severity of the newer ones, meaning you could break some small rule and still get banned over warnings from the past.

I'm going to bring this up here because it kind of made me ask a question to myself, the response to my appeal concluded with this:

Now, what's the big deal? In the rules of the ban appeal it states clearly that you may attempt to appeal after 2 weeks:

My question is, why did it extend by 2 more weeks? New rules? because if so it adds up to my points above, the overall harsher crackdown. Maybe something more sinister or perhaps a simple mistake. It's food for thought so I suppose I'd add it in.

Although, you were immature to me and did an inappropriate comment about my 3 hours Jail complaint. I have admit the Ban is way too harsh. You made good RP in the past (And you still own me 30 Credits, so where is my money) the maybe 1 day ban or something LESS HARSH would do the job.
 
Didn't read. But I side with pawlu anyway just to be a pain in the ass.

small update: I have reason to believe pawlu likes political RP. I now side with admins.

More like, incite drama and pressure the administration by getting your friends to reply to this thread
The appeal was denied, deal with it and re-appeal in a month

If you have been with us long enough, you have to know that we don't just give out permanent bans to anyone at random. We consider those very well with the whole staff team. You have to be in a couple of "incidents" as I like to call them before we decide this would be the punishment. Your name has popped up in the staff chat countless of times because of a very huge amount of small things.

A fair example of these warnings and behaviour:

As you can see above, we've got quite the document for you already. This has led us to permanently ban you after that incident in the VC. It was again another addition to the very loads of warnings, fuck-around and "mingery behaviour".

I also appreciate you speak out your concerns towards us, but this thread feels more of an attack on the staff team and to make us look bad. Whether that is the case or not.

If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up with whatever you want to ask. This is your file. These are your warnings. In the end it still looks like you don't learn from it so we decided to punish you like this.

On the other note, we have given you the chance to appeal again in a month. While the rules may state something else, we all decided it's a good thing to let you cool down for a month and think about your actions. We could have denied it and never given you an opportunity again, but we're not THAT bad. You get another chance; it just takes a month.

Edit: Added your ban history. You were punished before and STILL decided it would be funny to mess about...
 
This is fucking bullshit coming from staff on part of hawke and Pawlu's bans. You realise they are long standing members of the community and do not deserve a PERMANENT ban? Maybe if there wouldn't be a struggle of power you would realise that. I'm furious, and i'm furious for a good reason.

The power trips need to stop. You need to use the respective ban times for the respective offences, not hand them out willy nilly just because you feel like it.

Staff have their reasons to keep warnings/ban records private (I don't entirely agree on it but I do understand their reasoning). Seeing how people are already commenting how your ban is unjust and harsh, I want them to consider the fact that we don't know what past infractions you have done (though they are most likely your friends so). If I remember correctly, in the voice call Jinx said you have in-game warnings and a community ban on record(?). For what exact reason, we non-staff have no clue. So I don't think any of us should jump on the gun here, calling out the ban being unfair and whatever else.

Hawke I can personally agree with, but he did uh...
I won't go into specifics but let's just say he did a little too much trolling in his ban appeal and it was denied
Though pawlu has been banned god knows how many times and also warned an equally absurd amount of times - just because they are long-standing doesn't mean they're above the rules; that'd classify as special treatment

From what i've read then yea, the ban might be too harsh but we don't know the other side (staff) or about your other private infractions. If it's just this then i'm fully agree with some people here and the ban might be un-just but I also don't think you should be starting an open thread for the entire community to talk in while also sending it to your friends in DMs. (you sent it to me)

- so to sum it up, i have no idea what your past infractions (if any) were and neither do we know staff's side, ik you're an active player n stuff but starting an open thread like this kind of just seems like pressuring ammins and starting drama (as you literally said yourself)
