Early Life

Lyn Eilidh Harley was born on the 1st of February, 1985 to Elizabeth "Eliza" McGuire and Daniel Harley in Porthmadog, Wales. Porthmadog is a harbour town on the west coast of Wales with a population of around 3500 at the time of Lyn's birth with the majority speaking both Welsh and English, both languages Lyn would pick up with ease. Lyn's mother, Elizabeth, was a local political figure, working within the local council and personally visiting the local populace to help improve the lives of those around her. Daniel Harley owned a joiner company with his late father called "Neil & Sons. Joinery", which served the surrounding area. The limelight suited both Elizabeth and Daniel, using it to further their careers and reach the public. This public attention shifted to Lyn at the age of 15 when her mother suddenly passed away.

What felt like the whole town to Lyn came to give their condolences to her and her family which grew old and bothersome rather quickly while her father's grief grew larger, directly affecting his work and company causing the standards of his practice to sink. Daniel realised that a single source of income from a declining business would cause issues within the household of two and instructed Lyn to find a job and even leave high school. Instead, Lyn decided to move out not long after her 16th birthday, seeking employment in London where she became a carpenter's apprentice. She adapted to her new life in the big city and it became abundantly clear Lyn's new lifestyle was the opposite of what she was used to. She was a nobody, living paycheck to paycheck in a tight little apartment in London's Eastend. Whilst she was 16, her appearance and charming personality (as well as a fake ID or two...) led other to believe she was at least 18 which lead her to find most of her nights drinking in the local pubs and clubs. One perk of her status (or lack thereof) is the chance to meet new interesting people. Although her accent was unusual to city folk and a hurdle to get past, once they did, they found a woman with similar characteristics to her parents.

The Portal Storms

Lyn had what she believed to be a perfect balance of work, social and home life. Not too much, not too little. One day, on her daily commute to work, she noticed a large crowd gathering, pushing themselves down a street, shouting and raving about... something? Lyn didn't give it a second thought until she saw another crowd... and another crowd... and anot... "What the hell is going on?" she thought to herself, trying to remember if she heard anything in the news. No doubt the government had said or done something to upset the masses again. A national state of emergency was active the following day. Every news station was blaring the same message. Nobody was to be outside from the hours of 10 pm to 10 am. Nobody was to leave the city. Nobody must leave their homes unless they are classed as an essential worker. Lyn flipped open her phone, texting her boss.

"hey Craig are we essential workers?"
"I don't think so lyn."
"thank fuck cheers"

Lyn sat alone at home, drinking booze to bide her time, only leaving the house to collect the shopping or to complete essential work ordered by the government. Outside, the streets of London were bare. Not a soul to be seen beside the odd figure walking past whilst buildings showed notable signs of neglect with trash piling high outside. She didn't care for the what or the why as to what was going on, rather she just needed to know if she was at work the following day. Time rushed by with nothing improving but instead, getting worse. The curfew soon became 9 pm to 11 am, constant patrols of military-esque vehicles on the streets, and shortages at the local stores. By 2004, Lyn was fed up and sent messages to her mates asking if they wanted to sneak out for a few drinks. "Aye, where and when", one of them replied. "Is the pope catholic, love?" another sent. Later that day, Lyn and her friends snuck out with a bag full of beer and spirits each and met at a local park far away from the surveillance from those that roam the streets. As they sat atop a hill, looking across the city skyline, they conversed about what they had been up to and how they feel about the whole crisis.

Suddenly, the sky was littered with flying machines, or... animals? The movements these things made were too natural for machines, but surely a huge beast like this couldn't fly? Their confusion was soon replaced with fear, as these anomalies rained hellfire onto the city of London. Buildings were quickly reduced to rubble, the cries of sirens echoed across the land and cars attempted a speedy getaway from the city. Lyn dashed the hill, booze still in hand, and her friends soon followed. They made their way into an underground train station where they found hundreds of people lining the corridors. They shared the same fear that had controlled Lyn's mind. She sat herself down in a corner of one of the platforms, quickly consuming the alcohol she had brought with her. People's yells of panic became faded as the drink helped soothe her to sleep. Only God would know when she awake in Hell itself.

Relationships

Loves - Admires - Respects - Good Friends - Acquaintance - Known - Dislikes - Distrusts - Hates - Enemies - Fears
✟ marks that a person has passed away - Ask if you want your character to be added

Jack Knight - I don't see him often but he is the right man in the right position... I think.

Michael Hoxworth - Strict but fair. Raymond has told me some things about him but he is a good leader nonetheless

Miles Endinberg - I think I once saw Miles and Hoxworth chasing some jackass down a street with a hammer each. Heh - funniest shit I've ever seen in this city.

Raymond Saint Albert - Raymond is a sweet blend of the leaders of the CWU and the workers. Kind and funny but a good leader when needed. Also, he bought me wine sooooo...

Samuel - A hardworking man. Maybe puts too much time into his work, but who am I to judge?

Jordan Michaels - Popped out of nowhere one day and proceeded to have an hour or so conversation with me which is probably the most I've gotten out of anywhere here at the CWU. I wish he was around more often.

Ted Kowacks - One of the many hard workers alongside me. I think he was one of the first workers I met in the CWU? Glad to have him by my side

Akemi
Yamata - I don't think we have spoken much... I can't lie, I do get you and Ferret mixed up sometimes but it is nice to have more women in the house.

Ruben - What the hell happened to you, Ruben... What have they done with you?

"The CP that asked me to make a Headcrab Plushie"
- I know I said I wouldn't ask but I want you to know - Not a day goes by when I don't think about why the hell you wanted that. I'm still up for making that other plushie you asked for though.

Lyn Harley Imposter - What the fuck were you thinking? Silly bitch.
