SignUp Now!I would mag dump every person I put into bleedout.Wouldn't this just make it so people double-tap more often because you might randomly get up and start shooting like you were never wounded
I get that. My main idea was S2K or TBC focused. Both have very little RP involved. Only the aftermath has some RP involved, hence the use of items for quick recovery, with limitations, should be allowed with restrictions. There are other communities that I've been a part of where RP is more at the forefront than this server. For better or worse I understand the compromises made in this one, but I think that RP has been dialed back too much at the moment. Of course, nothing is perfect and those other communities I speak of has had their own fair share of issues concerning this topic as well as many others, but... like I said- I think this is a step too far away from a serious role playing experience.
I get what you're saying, but I suppose it all depends on how realistic you want it (in which case I'm more of a hardcore fan). What does repairing your armour even mean to begin with? You're not going to be doing patchwork, the closest thing I can feasibly imagine is swapping your inserts, but that's usually not feasible at all and a waste of time generally in a real scenario. No one (to my knowledge) carries extra armour. First of all it'd weigh you down unnecessarily and second of all your ballistic armour will either protect you or not. There's no in between where it doesn't protect you, so you put in a new, fresh layer. You're pretty much either dead or incapacitated in that case.
As for the medical items, applying a bandage in the heat of combat isn't all that willy nilly. You still have to apply it properly and most likely won't be able to do it yourself to a satisfactory degree (thinking of major wounds here, e.g. gun shot wounds, which is typically what we'd be dealing with). Not to mention that bandages aren't some magic medication that will fix all of your ailments. It's quite literally a patchwork, a temporary meassure.
Combat in gmod and RP are two seperate things, ideally. In fact, you wouldn't even need to shoot a single bullet out of your script gun for the RP firefight to take effect. I understand that this won't be a pure text based role play and I'm not advocating for it to be such. I'm just trying to make a point that nothing about gmod's combat and gunplay has to be related to the RP.
Wouldn't this just make it so people double-tap more often because you might randomly get up and start shooting like you were never wounded
No you would be immobile and need to be moved and injected with adrenaline or something. It would just stop needless pks from bleeding out, If I have a bunch of medical grade gauze on me I should be able to plug the holes given my med skill isnt ass and I'm not brain dead, Just enough that I'm a veg until rescued/treatedWouldn't this just make it so people double-tap more often because you might randomly get up and start shooting like you were never wounded
If they're assholes and don't want to RP Capturing you/Interrogating you Sure. If that's always the case then that's more a reflection on the person RPing the Cop or Rebel then the system isn't it?Wouldn't this just make it so people double-tap more often because you might randomly get up and start shooting like you were never wounded
Still no.Alot of you seem to have a misconception that you're gonna get mag dumped then throw gauze on and jump up and omae wa shinderu the cop trying to kill you and that's not at all the case. What's going to happen is you'll be stable, You won't die from bleeding out if you have the proper materials on you to do so and medical skill required.
It's stupid not to add it, IRL if you're shot there's a good chance you can atleast bandage yourself instead of slowly dying beacuse you cant be asked to use the medkit you have on you cus "No"Still no.

As Kappatalist said. Bleedout just means you're at deaths door but you have a chance to survive and in which most cases people do survive. That's just the system we have and it's fine. Not many die to bleedout and many who do either died to the bug (not sure if it exists still) or willing hold e to accept death or because they went into a dangerous area/situation alone which at that point is their own fault. All you can do is hope for the best once you're down. It's stupid not to add it, IRL if you're shot there's a good chance you can atleast bandage yourself instead of slowly dying beacuse you cant be asked to use the medkit you have on you cus "No"

You're on deaths door in bleedout??death's door
Yes. You should honestly be dead, but it's a way to give you a chance at surviving. During the bleedout state you've lost all of your health points, which is what triggers itYou're on deaths door in bleedout??
Shouldnt they limit what you can use to bring people back then? Like the medical kits instead of people just using basic ass bandages they found on the ground or some shit?Yes. Such a wonderful feature!or because of stupid TBC :/
No. Bandages are fine. They have always been fine. People who use makeshift bandages (aka basic bandages people find on the ground) can stop the bleeding but it won't do them much good in terms of health unlike disinfected bandages that can bring back up a lot of your HP you lost. So while you can stop the bleeding with a dirty bandage, you're still very much hurt. Personally if we had some kind of disease/infection system, I would like to see people risk of getting infection if they use makeshift bandages. Restricting bleedouts to medical kits is a one way ticket of getting a shit ton of complaints because it is absurd.Shouldnt they limit what you can use to bring people back then? so we cant bandage ourselves as we are literally on deaths door but a single roll of bandages can save us?
