EARLY LIFE
Painting is not something you simply grab onto and make a hobby. You master it. As some would say, art is subjective. While to others, it is not. The arts of paint and it's ability to showcase varying cultures and linguistics in a simple yet complex manner to the viewer is something that truly mesmerizes many, giving something to cling onto as a painter. With this in mind, how is an artist born?
A boy in the summer of 1987 was born in Mercy Hospital of Oklahoma. From the day his consciousness sparked, his tiny little brain began to grow of creativity. Who is this boy? Andrew Washington, of course. Everyone knows the story of how he grew up, it's another one of those stories told by the campfire. Instead of spooky ghost stories shared between humbled family members, now they are stories of those rising in power with a legendary status in their hands, those family members now torn apart and speaking of what used to be good in life. But we're not in that part of the story just yet, are we?
Painting was all he could do in his spare time whenever he wasn't in school or horseplaying with his friends. He'd often subject himself into, at the time what he considered was torture, to spending grievous amounts of time working on his own art projects, inspired by his father who too was a painter. Jack Washington was a bit of a celebrity himself in Oklahoma, breaking records in the industry and becoming a household name in the span of a couple of years. Back then, it took decades to become a notable figure in something like this, you really had to prove yourself in order to be deemed a master of arts and crafts. Nowadays, just make a blue square colliding with a red circle and you're guaranteed for success. Jack Washington was the embodiment of that, though his simplistic arts were an attempt at something new and genre-breaking, something that a lot of people had liked in Oklahoma. Andrew, however, didn't have the same tastes in arts as his father did. He liked art pieces with more depth and despair, most of his art pieces placed into a gritty and sadistic setting. Most of his projects varied in terms of quality, only just beginning his career in the early stages of his career, though it wouldn't take too long for him to master it.
"THE END"
In his early adulthood, Andrew began to make money selling his art pieces into auction houses. It made it easier knowing that his father is the son of the famous Jack Washington himself, though most of his art pieces were in favor of Jack as many had assumed his artwork was the same. Andrew continued jumping throughout various job offers that needed help regarding art pieces that they could use for advertisements, banners, billboards, practically anything that needed any sense of graphical design, he was the man for the job. Now reaching his mid-20s, he started getting himself into politics after being hired on-board the United States Government as a propaganda artist. Though, his career didn't last very long due to the events that would end up leading to what we all know as the world today.
The Combine reached and invaded Earth after the incident regarding a certain research facility over in New Mexico, portal storms reigned across the planet as various superpowers were beginning to crumble in the hands of this totalitarian alien force wanting to destroy their planet. The world would soon surrender to the Combine, the administrator for the research facility mentioned before suddenly becoming the new ruler of the Earth alongside said aliens, and now many would like to compare modern-day society to that of George Orwell's book '1984'. Funnily enough, those who speak about the book are silenced for speaking out about the cruel punishments that the Combine continue unleashing upon humanity even with their total enslavement of it.
The Washington family would soon crumble due to the result of the conflict, most family members being relocated to differing cities. Luckily though, Andrew and his father Jack were able to relocate to a city together unlike most unlucky families that were completely isolated from each other. Jack and Andrew continued making various art pieces in support of the Combine, the pair seeing eye to eye with the Combine due to the various happenings in the world before their invasion. Humankind were abusive and corrupt, often times abusing their own power over their planet and even killing it at times. The Combine may have ripped the world of its resources, though technology has never been better and people continue living through the newly established loyalist system. Jack and Andrew would end up being hired in the CCA as propaganda artists over in City-42, allowing them to form a reputation as one of the best propaganda artists for the Combine to date. They kept on pumping out propaganda and, in turn, would receive as many SC as many would dream of.
TODAY
Jack wasn't able to see the success of his son truly come to light as he would turn up dead a few weeks after Andrew's 30th birthday. He lost a battle to Stage 4 cancer, resulting in him dying peacefully in his sleep. Andrew fell into a deep state of depression and solitude, excluding himself from others. His only way to cope with the death of his father was to continue working on the art projects that he and his father never got to finish before handing it out to the public to be plastered throughout the city.
After a drastic drop of morale in City-24, Andrew would be assigned as one of the leading propaganda artists in the region. He had no other choice but to agree and would soon pack up his things, before being given a luxury train ticket where he would spend almost half a day or so driving over to the city by train. There, he spent the next year or so making propaganda for District Nine, at one point even forming some pieces to boost the morale of civilians during the attack on the OCIN relay tower. He continues working in his loyalist apartment block, desperate to finish his art projects...

Cadance Wattmuff
"A seemingly trust-worthy individual. She's in the same boat as I am and we spent our first day together with the other collaborators. She has a tendency to talk bad about others behind their backs, though everyone does that nowadays. Nothing she does is new to me, but she strikes me as a good business partner."
'Mike'
"Someone from the Civil Workers Union, he's a pretty nice fella. Has a nice beard too. He's an obedient and orderly kind of person. Can't wait to see his career skyrocket soon enough, a lot of the CCA love seeing people like him nowadays."
Nikolas Volpis
"Pretty nice guy. Don't know much about him though."
Ron Goodfella
"I don't know him at all, but I have heard of him before. He's someone I look up to and want to speak to whenever I get the chance. He's an inspiration, and he's one of the reasons why I managed to land myself into the party."

FACTION RELATIONSHIPS

The Combine
"They saved my life, and they especially saved my career. Without them sweeping in, I wouldn't be here."
Collaborators Party
"Some of the higher tier loyalists like Ron Goodfella are the kinds of people who I look up to in life. There are a lot of people sitting in the same chair I'm sitting in and doing as much as they can to keep this district afloat. I commend everyone for doing their best, and I hope we all are able to work together in large projects together, no matter our biases."
Civil Workers Union
"Met some decent folk who work and/or manage the CWU. They're good people and know what they're doing. I wish I can support those who are lower in the social class and give them as much as I could possibly give them for what they do to keep this district running as it should."
Civil Medical Union
"They do as much work as the CWU, though at a much larger scale. Saving lives is something that not even I could possibly do, either due to cowardice or the lack of knowledge. You people do something that I am not able to do, and that alone is commendable."
The Underclass
"You are all a varied bunch. All of you were dropped off into the district and left to fend for yourselves. It was not a holy sight to see, though a majority of you pull through it and try your best. Some of you are complete morons, while some of you are genuinely good people."
Overwatch
"What else can I say? Keep doing what you do best, you don't need someone like me to tell me how good you are. Most of you can't even render what I would say."
The CCA
"Some of you are a varied bunch, but a majority of you are respectable human beings in the same situation as I am in."
