So, I am dealing with an issue as of late that I call
"The game is being a big old piece of shit."
Or, what a rational person would call "A 'ISSUE'"
Basically, I keep timing out. I've tried uninstalling the content and reinstalling it, giving Gmod a certain amount of ram to use, and even turning it off and on again.
Nothings worked, if you guys know ANY WAY to fix this, please tell me.​

Timing out is a network issue. If you uninstalled the game and started from scratch and still have this issue, try resetting your IP. Some American ISP's do not have the ability to do give you a new IP after resetting your modem, so you may have to get a VPN. Otherwise if you are using wifi, try using an ethernet connection. Disable all network firewalls you may have as well and antivirus, windows 1/11 build in antivirus works perfectly fine if you have anything else you are just shooting yourself in the foot and it may be causing trouble as well.

Solved by the all and mighty @Hayden
The only 'other' issue I've encountered is being stuck on the city scape background when picking a char, but rejoining fixes it to what I know.

Step by step process of what I did.

Go to Launch options for Garry's Mod. Library > Garry's Mod (right click) > Properties > Bar at the bottom of the first tab.

Input this command:

+clientport 27015

What that will do is (hopefully) stop the error causing you to time out from happening. Usually when one server times out for you, it's an issue with your network connecting to the servers network. 27015 is the server port, so adding it in launch options should stop your network having issues connecting.

Always worth trying this first, before uninstalling all addons and reinstalling server content as it's so much quicker to do. Worked for me when I had this issue.
