This is a thread to voice your complaints regarding the faction at this moment. Keep it civil and be as clear as possible.

wackyTiger’s Super Cool Bulletpoint of Whining & Complaining (trademark)

1. I dislike the command units in Civil Protection OOCly. They do a good job in RP but they don’t really do much in a command standpoint.

2. Civil Protection as a faction is mediocre. The roleplay is noticeably lacking for a lot of people and even some of the more experienced members of the faction don’t RP as well, it got to the point where the faction leaders have had to complain about it in announcements and it irritates some of us that they even have to make announcements like that. Honestly, I’m not surprised as to why people call for a faction reform.

3. The Auxiliary portion of the faction is literally non-existent. Either remove it entirely or actually get people to care for it instead of just leaving it in the dust.

4. Training should be implemented into the faction again as apparently training for Recruits aren’t mandatory anymore with the map transition over to terminal 6. It’s a terrible idea and I don’t know why the leads decided this is was a good idea as it incentivizes newer recruits to learn the ropes by themselves or gain loose advice from their partners and go off of that. Learning the ropes by myself in Under Red Skies as a CP was hard as there was nobody there to help tell me and teach me what to do, imagine the actual main server.

5. This may sound like a nitpick but there’s generally not much for us to do other than patrol, beat people up, search for any BOLs, go back at Nexus and stand around and do nothing until we have to do it all over again. There’s no special events that we can do as it’s up to command units if they want to do something like that, we have a whole classroom, shooting range and boxing ring which is never used, etc. It’s gotten to the point where playing as a CP is another chore on the server rather than having fun rping as it.

its not even fun lmfao
the cp gets bored, then goes to fuck up someone elses rp up because they are bored
as my homie once said:
"its literally george orwells book uhh...1984"

CPs in general are PK-hungry as fuck
Can't get treated by one of those CMU workers who do jackshit in terms of RP? Execution.
Talking in public? Beaten up/execution
Also heard they take down stalls that sell products essentially cutting off RP from civilians, and have cut off RP from many civilians in general

Hey fellas

I'm keeping an eye on the thread. So far the main complaints I'm hearing before this thread was made that's making the map a "bad choice" is the CPs having problems maintaining an image, or there's simply not enough to do for citizen RP or there's no sense of direction.

Just a reminder for everyone, CT Meeting tomorrow so as to get ourselves the formal grip needed to get the map working. I'll let people know how it goes.
We've been facing a few internal issues and I've had to direct or focus my time to get them fixed before returning to server priority.

1: The map is bugged (I made a thread regarding it already)
2: It lacks ways of escape for rebels in case of a sweep
3: It's super small and hard to roleplay in, since all the RP is concentrated in the plaza, unlike in C24, where it was more distributed
4:The stores are always closed
5:C24>this
6:Litteraly no spores so all the rebels are missing on the outlands or underground
7:2 bases available (maybe like 3) only
8:No use given to quarantine zone other than combine/OTA events

These are Civil Protection complaints, not general server stuff.

More of a suggestion, but play with Sociostability more.

The city will feel more dynamic and be filled with more opportunity for RP if CP's collectively (At least assumed by authority) follow a more tiered strategy with responses.

For example, despite the social status being blue for most of the time, APC's have been fully armed and freely driving around the district for no reason. CP's should be fairly lenient on Code Blue, not really hounding anyone (Do not confuse this for being 'nice' or something. Just mean that they shouldn't go out of their way to incapacitate or hinder) or preventing talking outside or anything of the sort. It makes it difficult to do anything as a civ when CP's are constantly turned up to 100. However, the trade-off to this should be that CP's are even more strict as stability begins to fall. right up until red where you are basically playing HL2 with how they will act and interact.

This will allow the server to fall into a more stable loop. One where people are able to maneuver around just enough on Blue to enable them to enact plans and strategies, perhaps ensuring a lesser sentence if its nothing too blatantly Anti-civil. But once shit does start falling apart, CP's and the Combine will react appropriately and with great force, changing the landscape of the city as a whole. Gates getting turned into checkpoints, random searches, exaggerated charges, Transhuman patrols...You get the idea.

This also enables classism to become more apparent as your armband will be the only protection from CP's if shit starts hitting the fan and they go full Half Life mode.

As an aside, code changes should last for a while. I'd say a minimum 24 hour period where once a code is dropped, it must remain on that code before rising again. Codes can deescalate at will, but not recover. Will allow these changes to feel more organic as they slowly reset, instead of rapidly doing so.

Of course all this just follows commands perspective. CP's could disobey, but they would be going against the code of conduct if so - a dangerous move. It also doesn't mean CP's should let rebels walk all over them of course. If rebels do blatantly terrorist type shit, it stands to reason CP's would respond in kind. However, whatever response is made will have to be maintained. Allowing some of that atmosphere to drift to the civs as well. no longer fading as soon as the shooting stops.

I am blacklisted from CP, my friend. I play rebel and loyalist.

It's not "general" but they are complains that affect rebel gameplay and loyalist gameplay, as stores are important as can be, and the rest is really important for the good development of rebel RP

The points you're making would be better off and beneficial for all in another thread of its own. They most likely won't be acknowledged given that this thread in particular, is directly attributed to the 'Civil Protection Faction'.

CP Leads cannot fix a single point you've made on your post. It's out of their hands, which needs to be directed to Community Management or a thread about District 9 as a whole so they can at the very least, be considered.

This is not the place to voice your concerns about rebel and loyalist gameplay, nor stores for that matter if it doesn't involve Civil Protection.

oh, I didn't read the cp part, I thought it was general complaints. lol I'm stupid

1. My current problem, maybe it might be just the coping or being annoyed from me is basically. You are not sure what is allowed or not. I got charged with 148 and 603 for entering the Warehouse behind my pub and despite it being accessible by the public, which you wouldn't be stopped by any signs, forcefields or biolocks to keep you away from it. And charged with 148 because CPs were to respond and I didn't heard a /y from a far since there was no chat message or sound, because the Dispatch Messages were so loud. Despite that I got charged and the chances of getting something unclear and unfair removed is very unlikely. Mostly it is an "IC" problem, but where is it an IC problem when said rule doesn't exist and Dispatch just tags one for it?

2. The Command Units (I2-RL) are in my opinion not really the RP helping. I wanted to give some CPs some Coffee just being friendly. Some CPs took it some other called it Bribery and If said I1 could, he would have charged me with bribery and from an OOC aspect, okay you can say CPs shouldn't interact with the population or taking free drinks. But take it from an IC and Health of the Playerbase aspects that some CP aren't that desperate and want to be cool with the people. So allow CPs and Civilian Day to Day Interaction because said Unit, who accepted my Coffee and gave me 3 SC for helping them since they were low on stamina afaik got 5 STC deducted.

3. Applications. Funny enough, I just want to say my CP app got accepted by Rad-X back then, I just want to add that the applications back then weren't such a pain in the ass unlike now. Open Format, okay cool and nice. But you don't know what is needed or requested from you as an applicant and when you get Denied by FL of Civil Protection they don't even say your reason, why they get denied. One of my friends wrote literally 7 CP Application and got accepted by his last one, his seventh. I like the idea of creativity, but please just add your reason why it got denied not a copy + pasted one an actual reason about that specific application otherwise re-introduced a format you gotta fill out.

4. Auxiliary Units concept is good, but why did you introduce them in the first place, but then went back to OOC applications? That goes back to my previous concern, where players (which I know) were happy about an IC thing, because going through the OOC applications is such a painful thing (Some need to write 7 applications mind you) Please just keep the Auxiliary and keep working on that concept it has so much potential

5. The hate against OSF and attitude of some CPs
I am an OSF, yes. But I think this is kinda wierd? Just imagine this. Police Officers in New York go and make fun and bully some Military Soldier, who was deployed in Iraq an unthinkable thing to do, but OSF/MAA Veterans which were in 2+ Deployments getting bullied by C24:RCT.Yello-95 and that is the most okay thing ever to do. Doesn't make any sense, since you could guess some MAA/OSF Officers are more trained than Rank Leaders depending on the circumstances, this won't be a thread about how good the OSF is. But I think personally it is just idiotic to allow RCT/AUX or other CPs to bully the OSF just out of spite that they are OSF. Unless the said person is doing a crime then feel free beating the shit out of them, because you have to think about it. Some CPs will sit with OSF in the same boat / helicopter / trench and will fight alongside. If that CP bullied me on my OSF Character and we are sitting in one trench, you could believe me when I tell you that one Unit wouldn't survive that mission. And adding on attitude of some CPs, I don't care that they have an arrogant behavior it is just their thing, but constantly insult people on
the open street and their colleagues in the streets goes probably against their professionalism. I wouldn't think it is the smartest idea when C24:I5.Hero-69 goes to C24:I5.Hero-420 and says <:: Eat a dick, you cock sucker ::> or a Rank Leader to a Tier-6 in the open street and also yelling it. Some CPs should check their behavior, because as a CP your not god. If you die as RL some other Unit will take your place, so honestly some Units need to check their ego OOCly and ICly

6. Prebinds and lack of proper /me and PK hungry. It says all basically and the best example was just recent. Some GM did a little mini event made an Ukrainian Woman and tried to assassinate the Vittani Leader and I stopped it by tackling her and basically hand to hand combat, which was absolutely fine she RPd so that I won and everything was fine wouldn't mind the challange, but some random CP (We had 7 around us) all pulled their guns and just randomly started "/me opens fire on her without hesitation." I even told them over looc that you could PLS DON'T start /me magdump. Let the people RP it out first instead of using your gun like a player, who got first time I5 and his first gun in HL2RP. There is no point on just /me guns down said person. You can do RP. You CPs get Hand-to-Hand combat training, which you never use because you just result your gun to work, then you wouldn't be able to fist fight a Citizen because you only had it once and never trained it.

7. Accusations and no evidence to support their case.
This will be a short one, but I just had an Incident where I got charged 105 for something I didn't committ because I didn't do the crime OOCly or ICLy knowledge. because of some Map props that I didn't even place. And they have no proof to support it or an actual evidence of me having done it (Fingerprints anything) so they just went along and I must be lying right? Because as CP you cannot be technically wrong.

This is my opinion, how I see on things and situation happened. Not everyone is perfect, but you can sure tell your POV on it.
Unless you going to say "COPE" then the connection to the Internet should be illegal for you

I play HERO-04 so i'm a cp
i also play a rebel

observations!:
-There is far too much reliance on binds and throwaway /me's segueing directly into a s2k firefight. it makes it less about roleplaying and more about cs:source skills and who has the better connection.
-Playing as a CP on this map can get soul draining because of a total lack of anything interesting to do in the downtime. I think part of this is thanks to the fact that anti-citizens and criminals want to be able to do crimes, but would get pked and all of their grinding wasted the moment they tried.
-I think we're way too punitive. We shouldn't automatically be perma-killing people because they got three violations that are incredibly easy to accidentally get.
-I think that creating a 'no roleplaying in public' rule is stupid. Im being somewhat hyperbolic but being forced to enforce 'verbal transgression' laws literally just means running up to scenarios that are in progress and telling them to stop and then to take their conversation to an 'rp hub' (Said rp hubs are rarely open and stifle the flow of the scenario in progress 9 times out of 10)

'rp hub' (Said rp hubs are rarely open and stifle the flow of the scenario in progress 9 times out of 10)
Yeah, my pub is closed down. When some CPs go inside there, frame me for some bull ass reason have me interrogated for an entire hour and laugh then at me, how they fucking wasted the time from me and then you don't want to play then after a hour of annoying texting

I do not think this is a bad map choice. I think it is just managed bad. Lot's of places we are not allowed to access, like the QZ zone. The QZ zone should be allowed to be entered and should be a fully propped and decked out area for slummers to RP in. Add some door that teleports you to the other slum area in the city so the two places are connected as one slums area.

Biggest complaint I have is going out of their way to PK people when they have plenty of chance to capture, imprison, or just let them off with a very heavy beating. Had a few encounters with them in the QZ a few weeks ago that they just s2k you even when you surrender as they yell <:Amputate:> to eachother. In the city recently, they go out of their way to charge people and beat people, when we have not even been doing any rebel activity. I just think the dystopian oppressiveness has gone to far and is snuffing out good rp scenarios, mixed with the lack of ways to do rebel rp with how the map currently is, leads to a bad taste in my mouth.

Also the game is boring now that the smugglers are broken, can not progress economically rebel side.

I think Civil Protection tend to needlessly stifle or stop RP because they’d rather serve the maximum punishment for the most minor of crimes, rather than actually have interesting roleplay occur. As someone de-WL’d recently, I can say that I’ve definitely noticed staff’s personal bias seep into their RP and treatment of Units, citizens, and rebels, usually preferring to side with members of Civil Protection since they are in or lead Civil Protection. I’m not sure if I think staff should be RLs. If you have a problem and try to address it OOCly, you get told to address it ICly. However, asking your command unit why they did something or asking for a promotion could very well lead to them just ignoring you or punishing you ICly. I think a lot of Civil Protection is toxic, which is fine to me, but they don’t admit it and prefer to claim others as toxic.

Bro this thread is for issues with the CP faction not the server itself. I can't do shit about how stores are always closed or how the map is bugged/inadequate
