SignUp Now!Man unlucky timing tommorow got schoolRight click on Gmod in steam, go to properties, verify integrity of game files. If that doesn’t work… try tomorrow.
It might sound dumb, but imo to me sometimes the computer needs a moment to get a few things sorted and is good the next day. This happens to me with so much shit where it’s not working for no reason, I leave it and come back the next day and it’s just randomly working, lol.
ah so im basically not able to play willard from the christmas breakFor those of you who are crashing routinely or are buffer overflowing to a certain degree each time you join the server, you may be interested in this:
Imagine you have a bucket. When you join the HL2RP server, it has 20 gallons of water that the server has to put in your bucket before you can load in. If your bucket is too small, it will overflow. Sadly, everyone has a differently sized bucket, so some folks are predisposed to overflows and crashes.
The amount of proverbial 'water' in this example also scales based on the amount of people on the server at one time and, on a launch day such as this, we were pretty maxxed out. As the days go by and player numbers normalize, crashing issues should become few and far between for most. We've done nothing but add water to the bucket over the last 2 years. So, to alleviate crashing and timeouts, we need to work on trimming the fat. Some of that we can do today, some of that will take months to do. However, we will work on it and we are currently working on maintaining such a maximisation use.
I tried joining with less than ten people, internet speed i dont know but usually i use mayrepublik. also i downloaded every willard content pack, even the server one! What specs do you have on your computer? Whats your internet speed?
Both could be a contributing factor to the time out issue, along with the now increased server load when joining
Have you tried to join with less than ten people online?
Now the weird part is, My friend says not to use chromium. Here's what's using up the server.

We believe the client of your game is downloading the images sprayed across the server regarding panels as it's using up a lot of memory. Goes for everyone in this case. These panels range from propaganda, those advertisements for businesses or something similar like menus in an RP hub such as a cafe. It also scales with the size of the image. Put that in with what Ryebredd said, and this is what you likely get. So we may find a fix quite sooner than expected given this relevant information.
I recommend all players to try and get 64bit Chromium GMOD working on their PC because that is something that helps out a greater deal with running the game effectively with more VRAM available to process. Or keep trying to connect until you do. Hit or miss.
It's not a work around for all players given PC configurations, but you should at least give it a shot and see. Even without chromium, still try the 64bit. It's generally up to you but that is a fix that usually gives a higher success ratio that brings about the intended results we expect in terms of the timeout issue. Now the weird part is, My friend says not to use chromium.
Will try in friday when i can go play games again, thanks mr rad manIt's not a work around for all players given PC configurations, but you should at least give it a shot and see. I reinstalled gmod already tried 64bit, i didnt alt tap all addons i now have are willard.Re-install Garry's Mod
Try the 64bit version
Make sure you have enough memory on your PC/Laptop (close any other programs/browser tabs)
Do not alt-tab during loading
Unsubscribe from ALL addons except the Willard Content Pack
Make sure your drivers are up to date
Make sure your mounted games are all up to date and aren't modded
Try another more stable connection, always use an Ethernet cable whenever possible
If all else fails, upgrade your hardware.
