Civil Protection/CWU/CMU/ Loyalist Operations, expeditions and events

This suggestion has been posted due to, what I think, could be a lack of overall events, expeditions and operations given to Civil Protection, Civil Workers Union and Civil Medical Union, as well as conformists as a whole.

I've been lurking a small bit around the forums and I havent noticed any kind of possible way for people that are not rebels to participate in union expeditions, because simply there arent. With this suggestion, however, I am here to suggest that and give out ideas.

Resistance characters should not be the only ones capable of doing these expeditions. There should also be given out to the rest, and it does not have to be entirely combat based events. People want to have passive and risk free events. I am advocating for events where people can improve their livelihood, partake in the world and be capable of making a change for the better or worse.

For example, the Civil Medical Union could be sent out to a city where there is an infestation of Xenian creatures, which as a result causes several injuries. From that alone, Civil Protection or even conscripts (which can be existing conformist characters) have to also assist in the form of combat. Civil Workers on the other hand can also be called and tasked to help the two other factions by manufacture of ammunition and weapons, by the repair of infrastructures within that specific event and so forth.

There can also be logistic events, where CMU or CWU go on over to deal with merchants, supplies, farming, exportations and importations, tourism, fishing, hunting, corruption, lack of staff and so forth.

Please tell me what you think. Be serious about it, have constructive criticism and dont joke around. This is a topic that can help everyone have a good time.

I've thought of having this suggestion for a while given the lack of attention to passive events and the interaction between factions.

And if needed, I myself can direct and write event ideas and planning with the event team. The same goes for the lore team.

Paramilitary faction/MAA C24 Unit expeditions when!?

Expeditions can already be done by any faction, we just want to focus on doing a test run or two for Rebels first because Expeditions were created (at the start) for Rebels to be able to affect both the world and the server around them.

Union factions can already positively and negatively affect the world around them and the City itself in City 24 while Rebels struggle (and struggled before) to do that, hence why Expeditions were thought up long ago as a way to circumvent the Resistance's inability to do any meaningful action(s) in the City.

After we do a Rebel expedition or two we can open the floodgates for everyone else, though at most Expeditions will have a 10 player cap (20 if we get more than 2-3 staff interested in running expeditions) due to how player involved they are; otherwise the quality of Expeditions will drop drastically.

Okay. But I am not suggesting for solely expeditions, by the way. I want simple and passive events too. One of the ideas I have right now focuses on the CMU/CWU/Citizens as a whole, who on their own vollition transfer to a nearby country and help a lot of locals, merchants and others and in turn are given compensation. Still working on the event itself but it is coming along really well

The whole point of expeditions is that players create their own prompts for adventure themselves and staff being the stagehands for it. Not the other way around.

While staff COULD do the odd event here and there reactionary prompts are short lived and don't create a lot of meaningful RP. It's mainly the issue with the attitude that most people have here, lack of motivation to really do anything unless provoked.

If you want events, actual meaningful roleplay you can pitch a [expodition or operation in here], organise a group of friend and venture out, besides that, you can't exactly force a event with the already burnt out staff team.

I'm not trying to force staff. Just suggesting things. I've heard people say they're bored and all I see them do is stand around fiddling with their hands. So, I suggested this.

Basically what Chaos said.

Ive tried my best and got burnt out after doing non-stop events for a month straight. And what I learned is most players are either lazy or unmotivated to make their own roleplay; they expect things to come to them and put no effort of their own in. Very few players tend to actually care about creating roleplay themselves and most of said players are either faction leaders or applied for staff already.

The point of administration is to give a hand to those who want to create roleplay, which incentivizes other people to try and create lasting and meaningful interactions / characters. Admins can only do so much when players do not try, because players are not fully invested in events that ADMINS create since they have no hand in said events themselves. The best events come from a fusion of a good player idea which is then supported by admins (see: the Futurist fires at Indigent that caused a massive riot + rebels to come out of the woodworks).

Ok but I'm pro-active that I look for my own roleplay, and sometimes that alone can get boring too.

Would definitely write up Arteria events if this were to happen. +support

The tools to simulate more RP need to be driven by faction initiatives. CMU is a good example because a lot of the infrastructure is good for MedRpers, but they aren't built for, or are encouraging events that involve citizenry and interactions.

Civils workers union is in a good spot I feel, my workshifts fire as fuck

Don't have a CP char so dont have an opinion, and i know CBU is going through some stuff

point is expeditions wont fix the issues, consistency on the main server will

With the new organisation which has taken 100 years of development, should start seeing an increase.

AKA: Already has. 2 year old post :smug:
