lady-justice-5575189_960_720.pngDue to recent altercations provided by the underclass it has become clear that those whom occupy Indigent do not have the betterment of the cities populace in mind. With that being said I'd like to introduce the Preserved Communications act. This legislation piece will help battle the on going crisis and help weed out those who do not have the unions betterment in mind. To deprive them of their vital asset will ensure prosperity among those who adhere.

The occupants of Indigent use their voices to deceive our beloved civil protection and in return, ourselves.

With this legislation piece I'd like to introduce the following:

- Tier One and below are prohibited from speaking publicly. No exceptions are to be made.

- Insulting/ mocking anyone of tier one status or below are to receive social credit benefits from civil protection.

(Rewards are handed out by civil protection at their own discretion.)

- Citizens of tier one status and below and prohibited from owning anything other than rations, work equipment and jumpsuits. No exceptions are to be made.

- The Security Council will be able to organise public humiliation events for those who are caught breaking this act.

(Items may be provided to be hauled at the perpetrator)

This act is to be enforced by members of the security council and civil protection. This can be through fines or re-education. Punishment is discretionary

ah yes, another act to stop people from rping, great
this is completely within lore the combine did not allow citizens to talk amongst each other outside so I don't see anything wrong with this

It was already done on the Terminal 6 map and proved to be the most stupid and pointless change of all time.

This usually happens when you put "Muh Dystopia" and "Lore Accuracy" above common sense and the basic idea of fun.

LA passing laws that allow collaborators to shit down the throats of Tier 1- citizens and then wondering why the rebels keep doing more and more attacks and seemingly getting a more consistent recruitment pool, I love loyalist RP

No it isn’t, there is literally no portion where they tell citizens to stop speaking in public. It is literally a mechanic where if you press E on the citizens they talk to you.

HL2RPers when the government is oppressive::rolleyes:
This is moreso because this legislation would just gimp roleplay for people. Like, ICly it has grounds to exist but it would thus make it basically impossible for people below tier 2 to form any form of friendship or reasonable standing just because they're not tier 2, which isn't that easy to reach as workshifts are relatively uncommon, especially nowadays with the antlion attacks.
That, and this was made during the antlion attacks, a nonsensical time to try and make legislation like this when the primary focus should be the defense of the city from the literal crusade of antlions.

this just removes the roleplay if the only thing you can have is one item in your inventory, and then get shamed for having anything other than that

how do people think about these at all and think it is a good idea

I'll put this into perspective, given every one of these legislations is created in-character behind the inner walls of the Combine's lower-band Civil Administration. If anything, this should be driving what ever actions you do in the server.

Willard has a serious problem when it comes to taking these activities to OOC and complaining over it, rather than driving the roleplay against these legislations when the regime is in chaos.

Whether Civil Protection enforces it or not, or whether you, having the energy to post and ventilate your frustrations here, should be taking this to the server instead - you'll be helping the server become an additionally more respective Serious RP Server if you chose the latter instead of the former.
