Let Civil Protection protection teams communicate on /radio with only their specific PT instead of to all units at once. This channel would be created alongside the PT and only be visible to the PT and command units, regular units wouldn't see it unless they're in said PT.

For example, i4.UNION-1 forms PT-1. i2.UNION-2 and i5.UNION-3 join that PT. All three now have access to a radio channel specifically made for them that they can talk in.

i2.HELIX-4 and i3.HELIX-6 form PT-2. They now have access to their specific PT-2 radio and HELIX-4 (the i2) also has access to PT-1's radio because they're a command unit. UNION-2 also has access to PT-2's radio because that unit is also a command unit.

ok, that's all.

too modern bro, you forget all technology suddenly disappeared when the combine came

I can't wait for Dispatch players having to switch to different channels then fucking that up because there would be too many.

You forgot the world got fucked in 2001 in the Willard lore by the resonance cascade and portal storms causing mass starvation and decay. Add onto that the 7 Hour War in 2004 and you can imagine that researching cutting edge consumer tech wasn't high priority. We still used Windows 98 and big fat CRT monitors back in 2000-2001. Smartphones didn't exist and Nokia was the peak of mobile telephony (the famous indestructible Nokia 3310 is from September 2000). We were stuck on 2G, and WiFi had barely existed for 2 years (at whopping 1.5MB/s speeds under ideal circumstances).

Same Universe with sentient AI and portal technology tho

For the actual post itself, I think it's a good idea in theory, but I feel like it'd turn into an issue during actual emergency situations like what's already been mentioned in this post, or else it'd just force people to make binds to instantly switch between TAC-3 and their PT channel. I guess it'd be cool though, it'd at least give Dispatch a real reason to use the "All units, switch comms to TAC-3" voiceline

You can just make new command and that's pretty much /ptr so it only transmits on PT channel you are part of.

When it comes to OTA/DISPATCH

Maybe doing /ptr 1 "Text" could work.

The number can differ depending on active PT

Declined

Moving this to declined since its been in the backlog for too long, if it hasn't been picked up by now then we're likely not able to prioritize it. Feel Free to re-suggest it in the future!
