I think we all know what this is about:

So yeah, I'm not too happy with the ration system as it currently stands, along with others in the community. A few major problems with it are the following:

1. Ration cool down is way too long, 4 hours is quite a lot of time to wait, and only a couple hours reduced would be a lot better, perhaps 2 hours or so.

2. The credit cap. And whilst I get the whole "Citizen welfare" thing, and the cap being an encouragement to apply for a job at a store or something, I do still believe that the current cap as it stands it both way too low and a bit unfair, at least with the current cool down problem stated above. Raise it to 200, or perhaps for each 50+ credits you receive, lower the amount of credits you receive in the next ration. Something like that. But I feel like it could be improved upon either way.

Small criticism of the system, obviously the server has just launched and a looot of things are going to be worked on, so I'm hoping that improvements are made here as well.

if you're so concerned about too much money going into circulation then lower/quarter the ration credit amount but make it hourly so people still feel like they're getting something

Four hours would be fine if it was four hours OOC, but it's four hours on the server - so it takes a ridiculous amount of time.

I think it should just give more credits and have a higher cap. I don’t think it needs to happen more frequently. The big issue right now is people aren’t getting enough money to go out and interact with stores. Hunger isn’t too much of an issue, and neither is hydration from the looks of it. 4 hours seems to cover that well. With a higher cap (200 sounded good but I’d be more supportive of just raising it to 150 FIRST,) and giving maybe 25-30 credits a pack, I think it’d be better off.

Ration cap already upped to 300.

This is an IC thing though, the CCA on our server has he full power to change basically everything about rations, so you should take it up that way.

Problem atm is that DoP needs to form up properly to boost the economy. As it hasn't properly done that yet, rations need to cover more than intended.

Give it some time for things to stabilize and feel free to take any concerns up ICly as well

If I get 10 tokens every four hours, which does not cover 80% of my cost of living as such I'm out of pocket say 12 tokens every four hours.
I am operating a 2 token deficit.

I am then rapidly approaching the 0 token marker (thanks to the subsidy of 100 at the start) - I then have ZERO reason nor resources to purchase non-essentials. i.e. haircut, clothing, beer, restaurant etc.

These business then are not gaining profit and begin to rapidly tank profits - a couple of things happen here - they go bust and cannot pay their employees, thus a new wave of unemployed poor; or they take out a loan to pay their employees but have more debt.
Former: Less people with less money, less businesses, less incentive to risk stating a business or to risk being employed.
Latter: You either have a cap on the amount of money loaned out on the server or you add to the potentially infinite supply of money, creating either an in game economic crisis (no more borrowing ruins more businesses) or a massive inflation with a new influx of money (causing less people to be able to spend money.)

A palpable problem imo.

Stimulus cheques are a short time solution, as are business grants/subsidies (depending on your desired economic shift)

It's been about 3 IC hours now and I still haven't received another ration, I'm not sure if I'm the only one having this problem or if it the time hasn't been reduced as told but for me at the very least I haven't seen a difference in the ration time as was told.

We're currently discussing Rations and how we can improve this for the community as a whole; will move this to WIP!
