An elated expression replaces the one of anticipation before it. The Large Hadron Collider was pushed to it's limits, the resulting outcome having been predicted and hypothesised for some time, yet I never expected this. The collison of sub-atomic structures of multiple quarks created what I identified as an Axion, a previously theoretical sub-atomic particle identified as one of the components to the universe. Another quark slams into the Axion as it absorbs the particle, releasing the energy from it in an amount that predates even fission. As the LHC powers done and re-pressurised, I celebrate with my colleagues, a massive discovery for the entire scientific community, 'far better than what those limp-dick americans can achieve' they proudly jest. Laughter follows. How humourous.

The door bursts open, and a colleague ushers us to a television, broadcasting an emergency signal.

The discovery is forgotten as the skies split open.

The skys wilt, the ground rumbles and the world is ablaze for a short time.

An American speaks in Geneva, surrounded by alien entities dropped from the holes in the sky. He speaks fervently, fearlessly, as the words he shouts are that of submission and conquest. He submits the unconditional surrender of the world to the oppressors. Or as he calls them, the Combine. I turn off the television, gun shots echo throughout the city, of those that refuse to go. I reach for the shotgun mounted upon the wall. A thin hand reaches out and stops me, a look of fear written on my fiancee's face. A heavy knock, followed by the door being blown off it's hinges, and we're forced to comply.

The flashing lights strain my vision, hesitantly stepping up to the iridiscent stage from a diverse line of the known and unknown. The strained, aged fabric of a forgotten suit reflects its pale brown colours to the cameras. The Russian ushers me forward, broadcasting my name, and a reward. The ring of Higher Work. A domineering gaze falls upon me as he turns away from the lense. Fear grips me, and I quickly stride to him, a smile on my face with my hand reaching for is. He slaps it aside in a rush, as if my mere presence were staining him, placing a ring in my hands and pushing me away, condescendingly broadcasting,

"Thank you for your Service!"

Felix Poelking - Regret & Nostalgia.

I remember the days all the way in District Eight when we first met. A strong colleague, yet human evermore. You helped hundreds of lives, hundreds.
Yet I couldn't help yours. I wasn't there for you, I didn't give you the help you needed. I should've seen it. I should've stopped you... Now, you've ran off into the unknown, the place where few ever return.

Yann Stephan - Admiration & Acquiantancy

You are undoubtedly one of the most experienced people in the medical industry, right next to Hugh Mattock. I've seen the skill at which, and the accuracy, you respond to and treat ailments with. Always having a solution to a problem, a diligent researcher as well. Keen to help others. You've saved my life before, and I'll do what I can to save yours.

Hugh Mattock - Admiration & Mentorship & Worry.

You pioneered Research to what it was, organised it's initial structure, granted it the bureaucratic weight it needs to function, all at the cost of yourself. Not many were there to help you, you lifted it on your own. You were overworking yourself, training new employees, arguing for resources, spearheading ideas, what of your personal life? You've taught me most of what I know, and I still rely on you to this day. I only wish to thank you in person, I'll see if I can send a letter.

Aurelio Segretto - Confusion & Indifference & Envy

A pencil-pushing career-jumper. Hardly employed in any one field for more than a month, you say it expands your portfolio- I say you're just trying to find opportunities to exploit others. You're manipulative and cunning, you lack passion in all but negativity. You vex me, Aurelio. You could've been something greater.

Luca Carusso - Displeasure & Confusion

I hardly knew you, yet we were amicable at times, violent at others. Your mood switched constantly, and you were dependent on narcotics. I hardly know what happened to you now. A member of a corrupt organisation, a staunch racist to the french people- I'm not so sure about that anymore, you've seen to have changed your mind about them recentely, though I've never seen you much too often anymore.

Elowyn Reingard - Confusion & Regret

You were a talented scientist, a kind person, eccentric, egotistical, but we all have bad qualities. I should've controlled myself better when I found out about your drug use, I've seen what it does to people, and I didn't want it happening to you especially. It seems the message didn't get across, I should've talked to you about it instead of resorting to violence. I shouldn't have pushed you away.

Emiyo Marcum - Regret & Optimism

A very experienced doctor, well versed in the mannerisms and nuances of the medical field and more, a caring individual, yearning connection and friendship as we all do. You've saved my life back in Industrial Twenty-Four, and I repayed it by being careless when you were injured. I viewed you as egocentric previously, the recent fiasco proved otherwise. You've endured a lot.

Okada Ichiro - Indifference & Acquaintance

The Japanese Director of the Clinic and Research Department within City Eight. Largely absent for a majority of it, likely busy elsewhere, though I noticed what you did, what you've tried to do, you want to fix the issues that arisen, and you did. To an extent. Though, I think you were too lenient.

Vivian Garnier - Respected & Acquaintance

The Director of the Clinic in both City Twenty Four and Industrial Twenty Four, a respected individual, and I'm sure you've earnt your kept long ago, you helped me quite a few times, and I can tell you care about what happens to the Clinic, I think you view them as family. I wish I could hold the same joyful demeanour you possess, yet such isn't for me.

Akira Ovaiss/Olivier Fournier - Indifference & Pity.

A jaded couple, one I haven't had the pleasure of getting to know very well. All I see is another sad tale in a sadder world. How miserable it all is. Tragic, horrific, traumatising. I couldn't imagine what they went through. Yet I know it pushed them to the edge, strained them beyond reconciliation, and broke them apart.

Simon McShain - Disdain & Disappointment.

I thought you were a creative mind shackled by naiveté, you just lacked any sense of self-awareness and common sense- Your ideas were outright illegal, terrorist like at times. Gas the infestations, blow up the city- Unrealistic solutions to problems blown out of proportion. I read your thirteen violations, and by the Lord- I shouldn't have let you in. Not to mention you're one to so quickly throw away the very thing that makes you. Humanity.

Stephanie Roberts - Admiration & Friendship

I thought I was going to die on that rig, aliens from all corners- yet you gave me the tools to protect myself, and not only that, you've helped others as well. Even when it was just me and you, we stuck together, used what we had and used our minds to create solutions to otherwise unsolveable problems. You thought out the box, radical solutions that were proved correct by tenacity and force of will. You saved my life, I saved yours. Thank you, Steph, I'll say it to you again when I get the chance.

major re-formating update.

I removed all the relations for now, I will re-add them all. (I saved them in a separate file)

Cleaned up previous msgs posted about me concerning forum updates that are irrelevant now.

UPDATES:
Added Felix Poelking

I should share the links I used to create most of this.

I used this to find some hex-code colors that worked on this forum site.

I used this to create the portrait, while it isn't the best piece of work, it allowed me to create an acceptable portrait in my opinion

Fontspace.com is the main website I used to make the titles for all of the relations, titles, names etc.

I imagine I'll run into a problem later down the line with the maximum attachments when I try to add faction relationships and a backstory.

Updated a bit, added Lea Lilou and some more relationship stuff.
