The Liberation Front Coalition
"Together we aspire, together we achieve."

The Liberation Front (Or now known as the Liberation Front Coalition) is a militant freedom-fighting group, comprised mainly of armed militia and disgruntled citizens. The primary goal of LFC is to assist and liberate the civil populace under the oppression of the Universal Union. Their ultimate goal is the eventual and complete elimination of Union forces from Earth and the return of pre-war life. They often use violence to achieve their means, though a bullet saved is a bullet earned. Though as some may know, the recent addition of its "Coalition" status is one of intrigue to many groups across parts of the Earth... mainly due to the change in day-to-day operations now leading to the assistance and mentorship of much smaller groups.

The Liberation Front Coalition was created for the purpose of bringing back the life citizens once lived. Wishing the Combine rule to be gone and for the world to return to what it once was, putting everything back under Human control. The lives they have lost is too much for them to bear, they want it all back, not living under the fear and control of an alien Empire looking down on them, feeling like nothing more than slaves. Instead, they wish to be free and create a new government system with a whole new world after they succeed. They shall fight till the end... whether it means winning... or losing.

They won't mind hurting a few loyal citizens to get what they want... but they will never harm those forced to work, live in the city, and operate under the Union. They also believe everyone deserves a second chance, sometimes allowing citizens to redeem themselves and join up or simply help spread the words of its propaganda to bring light back to the lives of the many and fill everyone with hope... ensuring that along that way it picks up many allies along the way, no matter how small or big.

While all accounts in the TLF archives state that it was created 2 months after the War, the real creation date to those who do not have access to such archives is mid-2005 when the City Administrator of City Forty-Five, which is now in ruins, turned his back on the Union, revealing his true dark nature to them. For a long time, the City Administrator had pretended to love and admire the Combine's efforts, but secretly despised everything about them; this was revealed when he brought about the destruction of City Forty-Five via the help of a group named ESIC (East Sino-Indian Confederation) and lowered the automated defence system allowing them to flood in and commence a full-scale invasion which led to what City Forty-Five is today... nothing more than a crater in the ground with any remaining ruins of old buildings left at the edge. The Nexus stood in the crater's centre, completely in pieces with lots of scraps to salvage; however, due to the explosion of its core, the area surrounding the City has become deadly with radiation.

After such an event, the City Admin had already fled far away and had been taken by a couple of friends and trusted members to a far of place overseas towards Greenland. Once they arrived, they found a bunker where a large amount of already existing members were already set up and living, awaiting the arrival of the CA. The man's name, who is now the leader of the Liberation Front, is Dr Jacob Francis Youll, a dangerous man who has been recognized for his trickery and deception that he pulled against the Combine. More details of him can be found on the archived Union Database for those with high enough clearance to read it.

The Liberation Front during its many years of continued existence has grown immensely within the Northern Hemisphere of the world, granting it almost next to full control over Greenland, especially with its recent destruction of an outpost which once kept its borders in check; it has since rapidly grown without much hardship from the Combine Overlords. On top of this, LFC shares a peaceful co-existence with many groups of varying sizes, beliefs and reputation and its recent expansion to form a coalition is only proof of its continued growth. Some of its trade partners even include 2 groups of distinct separating ideologies Lambda and ESIC with only some minor influences helping out the SRF; Lambda being the peaceful but extremely well hidden and undercover type while ESIC is the more violent and mass-murderer type, a clear distinction yet the LFC trades with both for maximum logistical capability. Over the years, relations have come and gone and while Lambda and LFC remain good friends, they operate on entirely different levels that the LFC now leave Lambda to its own devices while it focuses on the rest of the world.

Speciality: Propaganda | Stealth-operations | Research/Crafting
Strengths: They tend to lay low, keeping out of sight from the Union (Acting as normal citizens from day to day life, but meet up with others from time to time). They rarely perform anti-civils actions when out in public, sticking more to the shadows. But despite that, they also hold a strong military force including a navy, making them perfect for invasions of outposts or some small important structures... as well as a worthy ally for naval transportation across the sea (Good for expeditions)
Weaknesses: Rewriting...

Rank Structure (Old):
The old rank structure of the prior Liberation Front is not much to Admire, following quite a simplistic one, though only cell ranks will be shown:
Cell Lead - They are the head of TLF operation in the Cities and the only ones with access to contact Headquarters using long-range communication equipment, these transmissions go through special encrypted channels.
Cell Lieutenant - A duo of assistance to the Cell Lead. Their main function is to simply command the Cell when the Lead disappears/is not present. Nothing special about them
Cell T1 - The most Senior of TLF members within the Cell, normally heavily equipped and well-trained fighters, though are still slightly out-classed by the main fighters of Lambda and ESIC.
Cell T2 - The second rank a member may obtain. They tend to have light-medium gear and have very little combat experience.
Cell T3 - The first rank any newcomer fighter obtains, they have completed their training but are normally under-equipped for work, making them virtually useless in real-combat, though can still have some effect if utilized properly.

Rank Structure (New):
Cell Leaders -
The Cell Leaders are of course the leaders of an assigned cell. They have access to long-range radio communications equipment which utilizes special encrypted channels. It is worth noting that the Cell Leaders are the head of LFC operations in Cities they are assigned to.

Executives - These individuals are the only ones who get to speak to the Cell Leaders directly and are in a sense second to them. Executives have control over the Captains and other such members below them each controlling a specific part of the Cell. For example, the Handler position counts as an Executive.

Captains - Captains, otherwise known as Squad Leaders is exactly what their name implies, leading squads of their own consisting of either Grunts and/or Affiliates.

Grunts - Those who have passed the trial and were promoted to this rank. At this point, they are granted some light equipment to ensure they at least have something to defend themselves with. But of course have no weapon restrictions of any kind thus allowing them to use any weapon they find, given they also share equipment within the Cell as well.

Affiliates - Unarmed individuals who have only just been recruited in the Cell. They are given nothing and are to work up to the position of Grunt and above.

Specialized Roles:
Handler
- Singular individuals who keep handle and keep track of all the infiltrators part of a Cell's operations. They are the only ones who know all of the identities of the infiltrators.

Infiltrator - Individuals who have willingly signed up to help the LFC infiltrate organisations and factions under Combine Control and relay said information to the Handler. Infiltrators are completely unaware of other infiltrators that exist.

Equipment: The Liberation Front is generally not well-known given it doesn't show itself so openly. What is known however is a bit about the equipment it has elected to use based on rumours of sightings of some of its members. With their many trade routes open, they have a selection of weapons ranging from sidearms like the modified 9mm USP and the Russian-made Makarov to long-range rifles such as the Mosin or Kar98k. To say their equipment is limited would be an underestimate of the Liberations Front's underground supply chain, closely connecting with many groups including independent ones hosting their own BMDs.

One rumour also points to the fact that the variety of equipment expands further depending on where you are in the world when you see them, making their equipment non-standard and rather scavenged or scrapped together.

Divisions:
Like many lucky groups and factions which are big enough to support their own divisional separation, the Liberation Front hosts a variety of departments which focus on different key and strategic areas of operation. Unfortunately, not all parts of the operations it has are clear so not all departments are accounted for.

Medical - As one may guess, the medical division focuses mainly on treating any injured or sick personnel. They normally send at least 1 medic per Cell to ensure each Cell has a field medic at all times to treat injuries on the move. While most of the medical equipment exists in the base, they are trained well enough to treat minor to somewhat mid-level injuries. The medics only tend to have a USP Match on them and nothing more due to most of their medical equipment using up space.

Propaganda - This department focuses on broadcasting the "truth" out to the citizens and giving weekly updates to the populace regarding world activity. They try and be relaxed and partially as funny as possible to give off a sense of the good old times in people's hearts while they are listening, though they are not afraid to switch to more serious tones if need be. They spread their beliefs via varying radio frequencies each month to ensure their safety from the prying eyes of the Combine.

Research - The Research division is rumoured to exist... but due to a lack of intelligence, little is known about it. They generally keep their research locked away from prying eyes though, the stuff they make does certainly reach the public eye such has its improved EMP device many saboteurs would find effective.

Engineering - Lastly, Engineering. This department again has little known about it apart from the field engineers it occasionally dispatches to ensure well maintained bases and outposts, as well as maintaining some of the Cells equipment. Some Cells have their own dedicated engineer assigned to them for construction, deploying turrets, disabling combine tech and much more. Apart from that, nothing else is known regarding this department.

Last section of Information:

Current Technology level:
The Liberation Front has been around since around the end of the Seven Hour War and has built up quite a lot since then. It has been in operation for almost 12 full years, their technology level has made some steady progress. The radios they use for the local cells are quite old school and tend to have short ranges compared to what Cell Leads+ are given, which are the more modern long-range radios. On top of this, the LFC has created a few variations of special equipment designed for infiltration and sabotage against the Combine, namely its modified EMP device capable of multiple uses with the help of an Unknown source; unlike the existing EMP devices, this one not only lasts longer against forcefields but is much more silent than its generic counterpart.

Though, while this may make them seem lacking in the research department, their science teams and lambda's do work together to produce new technologies whenever possible. They have developed many other technologies, however, most are not yet known about or have yet to be seen and confirmed. For now, just know the LFC is no pushover regarding their scientific knowledge.

Forces:
It is evident by now that the many rumours of the Liberation Front's forces are certainly one of those which could be called an army, or even a full-on military if you feel generous. Judging from most rumoured sources, it does appear that the Liberation Front does have its fair share of infantry, vehicles which some may find modified to their stock counterparts and most importantly... the rumours of its naval fleet. While rumours of a 2nd fleet have been mentioned, it is noted that it is more "hand-made" so to speak given its apparently junky-looking appearance, but still seaworthy vessels nonetheless.

It is unknown however if the Liberation Front has access to any aircraft within their forces and to answer that question, while it is possible, one difficulty of their location is its snowy and bumpy terrain, making it hard to station Aircraft on-site. But regardless, LF overall has had a few small-scale conflicts with the Combine and so far mixed results with a 53% win rate... nothing to scoff at given the small scale, but enough to tell that a large conflict would preferably be avoided if possible.

Supplies:
The Liberation Front supply lines are quite a peculiar one given how little information there is about it. From what most people can tell from the many rumours is that the Liberation Front has many "Cells" set up in different outposts, bases and cities all dedicated to occasionally sending over and transporting supplies to and from the base. Many attempts to follow such trade routes always end in failure given how they always seem to go on the Sea... and given the lack of sea-worthy vessels in the world after the occupation, it seems it will take some time until someone finds them one day.

What is known however is most shipments contain food & water, implying the Base they send off supplies to lacks a reliable source of food, which further proves the rumour of the fact the LF lives within a mountainous zone with plenty of environmental issues which prevent food from growing or sustaining itself for long. Ammunition and Guns is one of their common exports; on the other hand, mainly transferring them to the many existing cells around the world... as for how many cells they have under their control is not distinctly known at this time.

This section has been updated with newer and more vague text regarding its daily operations, departments and equipment.

The Liberation Front Coalition
"Together we aspire, together we achieve."
TO further increase the "connection" some people are making to view LFC as Lambda, we have decided to nuke a segment of text which was added back at the request of the old lore team regarding LF's relationship with Lambda. This now has been cut and replaced by a new paragraph which solely goes into LF workings rather than its relations.
