Facility/Structure Name: The Trans-Sector Extraction Relay
Purpose: Inland transportation of freight between Sectors in Asia and Europe

Year of Construction/Production: 1904 2006
Summary: Formerly known as the Trans-Siberian Railway, the rail network linking the Far East to Europe was recycled and reactivated in 2006 for more efficient logistics and extraction operations. While additional tracks and sea-links have been constructed all across the world for ease of access, the Trans-Sector Extraction Relay is unique due to its scale and strategic importance. Access to the Trans-Sector Extraction Relay is usually reserved for high-priority freight. Although extremely rare, exceptions have been granted in the past to allow intercity trade to flow through the Trans-Sector Extraction Relay.

Terminals, checkpoints, and facilities are dotted across different parts of the Trans-Sector Extraction Relay. However, the trains still have to cross the vast remote nothingness of Siberia. Seeing this obvious strategic weak-point, a detachment of the Overwatch Auxiliary Arm has been assigned to patrol remote sections of the relay. In addition, the Overwatch remains extremely vigilant and are constantly prepared to discharge hazards along the relay in a rapid manner.

Informal Narrative​

Few if any ordinary citizen has heard of the mighty Trans-Sector Extraction Relay, and those that do have often embellished their stories. While accounts might differ on what freight do these intimidating razor trains carry, it has been universally described as a stream of near constant razor trains, with dozens of them speeding across the Siberian waste at any given time. As the common folk might simply marvel at the incredible mashup of recycled infrastructure and advanced Combine technology, information about the Trans-Sector Extraction Relay have also spread to hopeful resistance fighters.

Due to the extreme vastness and the lack of information originating from the surrounding areas, conflicted and unconfirmed rumours regarding the relay have been circulating since its inception. Some rumours suggest that these razor trains are simply unstoppable, saying that nobody has ever managed to successfully intercept or disrupt its operations. On the contrary, some say that it is and there have been successful cases. On top of this game of Chinese whispers, these trains' freight have also been subject to wild legends in the nearby anti-Combine circles, a popular myth is that if any group manages to intercept just one of these trains, they would secure enough firepower to liberate entire cities from the Combine

As wild as these rumours might be, the truth about the Trans-Sector Extraction Relay is probably a mix of the mundane and fantasy, hiding inside those razor trains that are whizzing across the continent.
