SignUp Now!From an ethics standpoint, every CP is absolutely abhorrent the moment they join the force. Actively making the decision to aid a genocidal regime makes you a monster, even if you aren't sadistic, cruel, or hateful, you are still contributing actively to a culture of death.CPs aren't inherently bad, least not the low ranking ones anyway, yes - if they're kiss-asses they will be, or if they have a superiority complex etc, but let's not forget, they're human too, not every single CP has to be evil 100% of the time some might just be people trying to get those decent meals, once you start getting memory replacements and advancing in the ranks, then yes, you will most likely be a bad person, as you're beginning to strip away at your humanity, and be brain-washed further.
Funniest part of this whole post is the fact that one of the cops in question was @Nagi himself. One thing I will say. When I joined Willard Networks, what kept me around was the sheer brutality and tyranny of the Civil Protection.
Matter of fact, my first day in the server? I got stopped twice, beaten, and had my CID stolen by Civil Protection because I was walking down the street. Guess a pair of boots were having a bad day and took it out on me. I loved it and was instantly hooked.
That is what the Civil Protection is supposed to be in my eyes. Brutal, tyrannical, and evil. You’re supposed to hate them after all, and it was awesome that CP actually gave me a reason to hate them when coming on the server. Honestly it was fascinating and I loved every minute of it. In the server they act more like a gang and boss people around, forcing rules, stealing, beating, even murdering people because they feel like it; because they can do whatever. At the end of the day who are you gonna call, Civil Protection?
There was one scenario where I was walking by the Metropol during low socio-stability. Cops stopped me, frisked me, and they started accusing me of being a “terrorist” and I hadn’t done anything wrong. In fear, I tried to reason with them and was pistol-whipped, and had my teeth knocked out. The Civil Protection in Willard is perfect, and I love the fact that I hate them so much.
Though that’s just me!
Had to show cops how to be evil in a fun way. People told me “Ermm… I literally can’t be evil an oppressive without murdering people and slapping them to death!!!” To which I answered; Just S2M and throw them into the pit and break their legs and steal their money and beat them up with your fists.Funniest part of this whole post is the fact that one of the cops in question was @Nagi himself.

"Nice".The only time I have ever met a nice cop was when I was in the interrogation room. We all know how that inevitably ends.
My first "okay" rebel character got PKed because I believed the cop was actually niceThe only time I have ever met a nice cop was when I was in the interrogation room. We all know how that inevitably ends.
That's on you.My first "okay" rebel character got PKed because I believed the cop was actually nice
Like, it's impossible for any rebel group to be worse than the Combine

CPs are absolutely inherently bad.
Based as all hell and upvotedI tend to agree with the viewpoint of people like Alessio, albeit in a more extreme fashion, in that anyone who positively associates with the Combine whatsoever and has had personal material benefit from their positive association with them (family members included) without being a rogue agent or otherwise being a rebel insider, anyone who meets this criteria should be considered inherently evil for bootlicking the fascist imperialist colonial puppet government that's actively aiding in the genocide of all life on Earth for the sake of imperialist resource extraction and labor exploitation.
Like, it's impossible for any rebel group to be worse than the Combine as far as I'm concerned, as long as said rebel groups aren't also actively cooperating with the Combine in some ways (dealing with individual corrupt CPs and CCA doesn't necessarily count), because the Combine have a far, FAR larger capacity to commit violence than any rebel group could ever hope to have, even with the Earth occupation garrison. And they exercise that capacity to commit violence constantly through their sheer presence and in controlled areas like cities. Even rebel groups that are de facto just some gangs who are trying to control the black market trade or other dumb shit like that and aren't primarily concerned with the Combine beyond their meddling in trying to shut down any and all black markets can never be worse than the Combine, or arguably even as bad as them, and would still be preferable to having the Combine control the neighborhood instead.
In that same vein, any and all violence committed against the Combine and anyone who associates with them in the positive ways I've described is also justified by default, including violence against family members who benefit from their collaboration. And should the situation change and uprisings start succeeding with rebels taking over cities and becoming the de facto government of liberated territories (which I understand if it can't happen before Lambda narrative wise but that's besides the point), there would 100% need to be mass trials, with lists being collected of collaborators from Combine databases so that all of the people on said lists can be put on trial for their level of collaboration and given appropriate sentences based on that, from re-education to capital punishment depending on the severity, while otherwise having their collaborator privileges revoked and forced to live as ordinary citizens under the rebel government(s). Mass anti-loyalist/anti-collaborator purges, essentially.
So, in conclusion, yes, all CPs are inherently bastards for associating with the Combine in a positive way at all, and are even bigger bastards for functioning as the arm of the puppet government's monopoly on violence in occupied territories, so they would be the most likely targets of capital punishment in the event that the tables start turning against the Combine.
