Reasonable. Also reduces grind, and stops water from being treated as if it's totally acidic that bottles simply break after a couple of uses.
Many elements can be translated to pots and other faculties too, but I would like to see opinions on this from the wider audience.

i think upping the base durability of the regular bottle and creating an unbreakable (or very high durability) luxury bottle's a great idea.

just make the regular bottle unbreakable. i think its stupid to have to go scavenging for something that'd function just as well as something more readily available irl

I'd imagine when bottles with durability were added, Willard was heavily learning towards gameplay elements instead of facilitating RP. Times have changed, and scripts should follow - upping the default water bottle durability & adding a (as Freudeka said) luxury unbreakable bottle would be a welcome addition.

Alright though, let's be serious

The reason the durability actually exists on the water bottles (as far as I am aware) is due to the mechanic of gaining leeches from collecting water. The durability is there to stop you endlessly grinding for leaches in the water as an easy way to make food. Overall I think the mechanic is a little silly, the prospect of attempting to fish for leaches reminds me of CS:GO cases.

I'd be personally find if water bottles being infinite all together to save creation of a new model + item being made for a singular mechanic, though with adjustment to the leech system at the same time would be required - which to be honest is heavily outdated and should be refined anyhow.
