In comparison to some of the rebels? Yeah, civil protection is not that bad at all... Could be considered good when referenced to the bullshit Rebels pull off.
When it comes to some loyalists and civis just trying to passive RP? No. They don't forget they're the bad guys at all and uphold that pretty damn well. I could just be biased though.
THAT WAS ME LMAOOOWalk outside, go to get food and drink, cp flags me down

True, I think a lot of CP's are "bad for the sake of being bad" i'd rather have CP's be a looming threat than a prevalent threat like I could just be chilling in the sewers and head to plaza and get walled and bagged and interrorgated about my whereabouts with the suspicion im an anti-citizen but just waiting for that suspicion to be proven by me. Now ofc the only issue in this is that CP's cant just be snatching people off the streets 24/7 you'll probably get pissed off if its your fifth time getting snatched off the street and interrogated.I really think units are both too nice and too cruel. There’s no middle ground at all. I think there is just a lack of direction in terms of the appearance of units. In the end, no matter what faction you play as, citizens are the ones all others are working to support since its what makes occupation rp actually, you know, occupation RP.
I think units should be oppressive and totalitarian, but absolutely not just cruel and brutalistic for no reason. The absolute best interactions I’ve had with Civil Protection as a citizen/vort is when they are paying attention to you in a way that feels personal, rather than just telling me to fuck off or hitting me with a stun stick.
For instance, the vibe with totalitarian authority is that it’s weird. Units should ask random questions that feel invasive. They should bag you and bring you in just to interrogate you over things nobody knows about. They should be watching you and peering into your life. It’s a game of putting players on edge without actually jumping off and just ruining their RP. The whole point of the Civil Protection is that they are a constant, low threat to your RP. They don’t lunge at you until you do something actually bad. They’re an antagonist that is simply observing and waiting for you to fuck up, not just assuming you fucked up already and moving right to beatings because “lol we are like the bad guys or something”.
In my experience, this is the key distinction of 'good' cop roleplay-- not morally 'good', but rather of high quality. It's hard for a cop to delve too deep into a personal roleplay with someone on account of the orders they receive from Dispatch/their superiors, as well as the CONSTANT need for vigilance outside high socio-stability areas, however. That's no-one's fault really: it's a staple of the gamemode. The absolute best interactions I’ve had with Civil Protection as a citizen/vort is when they are paying attention to you in a way that feels personal, rather than just telling me to fuck off or hitting me with a stun stick.
