A matching player could not be found!

(Me PM'ing York to see if he has a GM with him, considering there are two connected with active statuses and recently connected, meaning they must be somewhat active)

I walk to plaza, hoping that if I can collect my ration, then I'll just get offline and wait for tomorrow. I get to plaza, and see three Units, wow! All of the scoreboard players must all be playing Unit, is what I thought. So, knowing I have no CID, I decide to repeatedly walk into the bio-field in order to gain their attention, and get my CID back, at least so I can go collect a ration before getting offline. From here, this interaction begins.

[LOOC] Jakob Radke: my fucking suitcase went to the fucking bottom of the ocean i just wanted my ration. no staff to refund, i didnt see my chips
[LOOC] [X]C24:i3.XRAY-90: you not seeing your chips doesnt mean they dont exist
[LOOC] Jakob Radke: no apartment key, no CID, staff are connected but not active, yeah but i wouldnt of been stuck at this gate without my CID
[A trenchcoated Civil Protection Offic...] says (to you) "<:: Ah, great. ::>"!
[A trenchcoated Civil Protection Offic...] says (to you) "<:: One of the fucking black-bands. ::>"
[LOOC] Jakob Radke: i sat here and walked into it so i could get an interaction with yall, up to you if you would like to void
[LOOC] C24:i5.XRAY-21: IC is unfortunately IC. You forgetting you had chips on you means your character forgot he had chips on him.
[LOOC] C24:i5.XRAY-21: might not seem fair, but that's how it works man.
[LOOC] Jakob Radke: is it IC that i didnt have my CID?
[LOOC] C24:i5.XRAY-21: Yes
[LOOC] Daniel Jelczuk: just say you were ambushed by slummers lmao, big issue
[LOOC] Jakob Radke: hmmmm, thats very debatable, but ill agree for this instance

[LOOC] C24:i5.XRAY-21: It fell into the ocean, no?
[LOOC] Jakob Radke: yeah through the fucking props and into the ocean yes
[LOOC] C24:i5.XRAY-21: Either way, lesson learned. Don't drop valuable stuff on rough collisions.
[LOOC] Jakob Radke: after multiple staff reports and i even asked on discord for staff, i just said fuck it i want my ration and go offline
[LOOC] Jakob Radke: i would much prefer we just void because its a dumb interaction and doesnt actually carry any IC weight, my character wouldnt of ever been ICly stuck against the gate, etc
[LOOC] [X]C24:i3.XRAY-90: ughhhhhh just do the rp
[LOOC] C24:i5.XRAY-21: IC is IC. You aren't going to get that much shit for this.

*** [A standard looking civil protection o...] takes the chips from the mans pockets, depositing them in him own.
[LOOC] C24:i5.XRAY-21: you put your CID in your suitcase. You dropped your suitcase, it fell into the ocean.
[LOOC] C24:i5.XRAY-21: shit can happen IRL just as easily.
[LOOC] C24:i5.XRAY-21: ever see people lose their keys in a drain? Can't void that because it isn't fair
[LOOC] Jakob Radke: oh, my suitcase can phase through a boat, slide down the beach at 30 miles an hour?
[LOOC] C24:i5.XRAY-21: Just take the charge bro.
[LOOC] [X]C24:i3.XRAY-90: Don't forget there were multiple holes in the boats, maybe you don't know ICly, but there were.

[PM] »C24:i5.XRAY-21 (George Gargoyle): whats ur name
[PM] »C24:i5.XRAY-21 (George Gargoyle): nvm, cool
Your next ration is available in 0.75 hours - it wasnt even ready....
[PM] C24:i5.XRAY-21 (George Gargoyle): Feel free to make an abuse report if you choose to, I'll happily speak about this more if required.
[PM] »C24:i5.XRAY-21 (George Gargoyle): im really just disappointed in how you acted during it, you shouldve acknowledged that due to OOC circumstances and you not taking the ticket, you then decided to act upon the IC interaction which couldve been solved with the ticket
[PM] »C24:i5.XRAY-21 (George Gargoyle): you couldve easily voided that situation as a player, even before i knew you were the staff member
[PM] C24:i5.XRAY-21 (George Gargoyle): there was no reason to. You were IC, you went to grab your ration without your CID.
[PM] C24:i5.XRAY-21 (George Gargoyle): Was you grabbing your ration an OOC action?
Player Curbalas left the game (Disconnect by user.)
[PM] »C24:i5.XRAY-21 (George Gargoyle): i think you shouldve voided the situation, i shouldve noticed that i had chips, but you shouldve just taken my ticket or voided the situation after realizing it couldve been prevented by taking one of my three tickets.
[PM] »C24:i5.XRAY-21 (George Gargoyle): yes, i definitely messed up, but due to your inability to take the ticket or to realize that due to your inability to take the ticket, i was forced into that situation, and you could've voided it, is really dumb
[PM] »C24:i5.XRAY-21 (George Gargoyle): you didnt take the ticket, so i was left with no CID. i went with no CID to see CP, before asking for a void because of OOC circumstances. then i find it out your staff and couldve taken the ticket.
[PM] C24:i5.XRAY-21 (George Gargoyle): You're going to achieve nothing through pming me. If you think it is unfair, make an admin abuse report on the forums
[PM] »C24:i5.XRAY-21 (George Gargoyle): i wouldve liked to discuss it with you and perhaps made you understand that i feel wronged here
[PM] C24:i5.XRAY-21 (George Gargoyle): I know you feel wronged, you've mentioned it.
[PM] »C24:i5.XRAY-21 (George Gargoyle): if you would like me to make a report i certainly can, i also gain nothing from the admin abuse report

Really didn't wanna make a report but after reviewing everything, I do find it beneficial to at least put something out there. I don't desire for some sort of punishment, I genuinely only look forward to never having another interaction like this again, or any other player. I would also to pre-fix this report by saying, that I'm an idiot, without a doubt. I should've noticed that I had chips on my person when I decided to get into an IC interaction after losing my CID to a glitch, absolutely.

However, I find it completely appalling that George doesn't see that the right outcome here is to void the situation due to OOC circumstances. I would have never been in that situation if my suitcase had not glitched through the floor, I would not have been unable to receive my CID back if George Gargoyle had taken the reports made, and we wouldn't of had the situation at all if when, I immedietely upon realizing I had chips ask for a void, that the staff member who decided to ignore the tickets, could've accepted the void, even as a player.

This entire situation is just silly, with something as meaningless as dropping an item and losing it through the floor. And then for it to further escalate to a situation wherein I'm being persecuted ICly by the same dude who OOCly ignored my tickets. I'm sorry, but George's inability to realize that the situation should've been voided is laughable. The fact that I'm silly enough to forget the chips on me when I'm knowingly getting myself into an IC situation, also silly. My issue is where the OOC circumstances have affected the IC situations outcome, and a staff member who was in full control of both aspects of the situation, has decided that his course of actions were okay. I personally feel like he should've righted the situation by either voiding the arrest, or by taking the ticket and completing the refund. He's hidden on scoreboard, so I have assumed that staff are no longer able to be called for help. Only after I say that I'm gonna get staff for the situation, does he reveal that he has been staff the entire time.

In the logs, due to me presuming that I'm dealing with strictly players, I ask 'hey can we please void, OOC circumstances' and politely ask for their agreement in the void. Since they don't agree, eh, what can ya do. Then when they begin to start dragging out the RP, which has already been asked to be voided and they begin to hypothesize on stacking charges, already a fucking difficult game when you're stopped by CP, I say that if they don't just wrap up their RP that I'm gonna get staff because I wasn't interested in getting charge stacked due to, as I've repeated, OOC circumstances.

I hope I've made it abundantly clear, but it's not a personal attack, it's not a refund-driven report, I mean, everything about this, is so minute, that it was never worth the situation in the first place, let alone this fucking report. You guys can laugh me out the door, you can skin this dude alive, I'm only presenting the information. Any further questions or comments, please leave them below because this is a 3am report and I can already tell it's a little bit unorganized. Appreciate your time, thanks for the read.

Hello! Had a feeling this was coming so I started prepping early. Here is my amazing and incredible response:

- You as a player placed valuable items into a suitcase, then you dropped the suitcase out of your inventory onto the beach and it slid into the ocean.
- You witnessed such, made a ticket, then the ticket was not answered.
- You then decided to go to the city without your CID without putting all of your contraband, leaving 157 chips in your inventory. My civil protection character saw you unable to get through a forcefield and searched you.
- You allowed the search to happen and then began to complain in LOOC as I questioned you about the chips you had left in your inventory.

You are very much aware that the map works in this way prior to dropping your suitcase on it. You've made many tickets in the past complaining about the scripts you've lost when such has occurred. In my eyes, it is your own fault this happened.
Collecting your ration is not an OOC action, the process and roleplay you experience on the way there is to be considered in character.
You were charged with a blue tier infraction, retrieving a verbal warning and -3 social credits.
During this time I spoke to the other civil protection players around me at the time, who agreed with me, before coming to the conclusion I did.

Here is why I did not take your ticket immediately!
- It was 6am
- Admins are not paid, it is not a full time job. We are here to play the server as much as you are and that is something I enjoy doing.
- Over the past five days, you have made THREE PAGES of admin reports. To put that in perspective, here is a single one of the many pages.

God forbid I don't answer one of them.

- Support, I love Travis

Boils down to this, it seems. You forgot chips on you. What does literally anything else have to do with it? None of the other circumstances you described prevented you from hitting F1 & seeing you had chips & hiding them somewhere.

stop caring and move on, it's not like your char was pk'd.

Bro really forgot rule 1 of being a slummer, never have anything illegal on you when you leave the slums because you can and will be searched randomly

The staff member online at the time had not been able to take my ticket to restore what should be IC. I think if staff wanted my suitcase loss to be IC, they should have disclosed this by taking the ticket and informing me that it would be taken IC; fuck, you can just /pm me and say unlucky, it’s gonna be taken IC. I would’ve accepted that and played like it was all IC.

Instead, due to an interaction of the literal /game/ and not in any form of reality; my suitcase is able to phase through props and slide down the beach, as if there is no form of drag physics in the world of HL2RP, and I’m left with no CID.

You’re absolutely correct I should’ve just pressed F1 and seen it I had chips.

My driving factor is the fact that the staff member who could’ve taken my ticket and resolved my issue, also engaged in the IC interaction to arrest me. That doesn’t quite sit right with me, especially considering he knew that he was in full control of the situation and could have prevented it at A) the ticket of the suitcase or B) the interaction upon discovering I have no CID due to a situation that a ticket was made about.

I think that if more situations like this unfold, it could become progressively worse. Example - rebel drops his gun, it phases through the floor. Staff decides to ignore the ticket, and flag onto CP. Then, when the rebel and the CP meet in slums; and the CP has his gun but the rebel doesn’t, I think there’s a huge conflict of interest here.

Situations that are affected by a ticket that you did not respond to, and then act upon ICly, is not it, chiefs. It would be different if this were something that did not affect the situation of the outcome, or if George was not involved in the arrest.

As shown, if when I believed the CPs were just players, I was gonna do the stupid “lol my CID is just gone!!!” which totally makes sense, and then try to explain it to the CPs so I could continue playing the game. (No apartment keys, no CID, no flashlight makes the game pretty miserable)

My real issue crops up when the staff member that ignored my ticket doesn’t feel it’s right to ignore the situation that was caused by the lack of attention to the ticket. You’ve created a situation due to refusing to take a ticket, fine, like you say, you’re not paid to do this. I’m sure that you can be reprimanded however, so I’m not sure the “I don’t have to” ideology is a good one to carry with the position of staff, and definitely not productive for the general player base.

My goal here is not to delegate punishment, to restore LP, etc. I am curious on the legality of it, whether y’all agree with me or not. I find these situations /very/ dangerous and this is a small scale situation, very meaningless. Just takes another situation with a PK on the line.

Reading through this... what is the abuse in this thread?

Abuse threads are for when a member of Staff or Creative Teams abuse their authority or power to cause problems, issues or otherwise harm to a character/individual.

Please can you answer or this will be moved respectfully to the Complaints section.

This is a False Equivalence argument (Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_equivalence). If you wish to draw parallels, the equivalent would be you drop your AR2 and it clips through the floor. You make a ticket, but instead of waiting, you decide to go shotcop using your Helsing Rifle. You get absolutely ventilated by the CPs, and then head to the forums making an appeal going 'but if I had my AR2!!!' when, in fact my brother in christ, it was you who chose to shotcop.

As it stands, there is no obligation on staff to respond to a ticket within X minutes I don't think. As Mr. Travis mentioned, they're unpaid volunteer players, they're here to have fun & help out when need be, not ticket-slave all the time while they're online. You'll find that trying to enforce this paradigm will just lead to people resigning, as doing tickets and interrupting your RP every five minutes isn't fun.

I do believe you've summed up exactly why this thread can not be considered an abuse of power by any means.
