The paris catacombs, once a place of mystery, horrors, and a mirror into the middle ages, is now a resistance repurposed system of tunnels underneath what was once Paris, City 13. What dwells within are rejects of the union society, people with anti-union ideologies, and a large amount of insurgent groups that house these tunnels, stretching over what is believed to be a length of 9 miles, although by no means confirmed.
There have been attempts at flushing out the region with the use of multiple gasses, headcrabs and the sort, but have proven to be unsuccessful at eliminating any of the resistance. The system also proves to be very hazardous to City 13, as multiple hidden enterances have been uncovered over time, meaning that the city is prone to guerilla tactics were the local resistance to ever attempt such.
Although this may seem as a good safe spot to go to if one would be looking to ally themselves with the resistance, it is hazardous to venture the area without a guide. It's packed with booby traps from both the union and resistance, constant union patrols, left-over zombies and crabs from prior operations, aswell as the natural danger of getting lost in this never ending maze.
There's a chance you won't leave alive, and will share the same grave as the ones who had died long before the war within the catacombs, or have been buried in it.
